“The Breaking the Silence Mental Health Summit is a groundbreaking event that should be covered in the media because it is designed to bring hope, healing, and peace to our hurting Prince George’s County community,” Dr. Wood told MHN.
Amongst the biggest reasons Wood and Wise are pleading with major media outlets to turn out at their summit is due in large part to the assortment of recent challenges that have greatly shaped their community, most notably from natural disasters to economic challenges, many of which “have shaken our community, leaving many anxious and uncertain,” Wise said.
“Instead, we are committed to restoring peace and resilience, stronger than ever before,” Wise continued. “The Summit is a transformative event, a beacon of hope amid uncertainty to celebrate empowerment, growth, healing, and transformation.”
Added Dr. Wood, Making Headline News’ International Women’s Day Woman of the Year for 2023:
“This event is not merely another mental health gathering but a movement…a rallying cry for change and progress. We have assembled a stellar lineup of the best mental health experts from around the world, each ready to share powerful messages of hope and healing.
“We will create a safe and open platform for our community to come together, discuss mental health issues, and shatter the stigma surrounding mental illness. Through candid conversations and inspiring stories, we will empower individuals to take control of their mental health and well-being. We believe that together, we can take on obstacles as we embark on a journey of healing and renewal, forging a path toward a brighter, more resilient future for our community.”
Deemed the presumptive frontrunner for Making Headline News Woman of the Year for 2024, Dr. Wood is no stranger to the national media spotlight.
