LEADING THE CHARGE
DALLAS — As Tani Lamb vividly recalls, the awe-inspiring developments surrounding her sophomore written work unfolded some six years ago.
“The book began as a short story for the Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas in 2018,” Lamb told Making Headline News during a recent interview.
The book to which Lamb is alluding is The Princess of Sapphires and Sand: Adventures From A Teller Of Tales, her featured published masterpiece that, much to her delight, has been as good as advertised since its ceremonious release.
“I was helping the young ladies earn their Cadet Book Artist Badge,” Lamb, a rising Dallas/Fort Worth-area author, said, recalling the memorable developments surrounding the production of her second book.

“After reading the short story that I prepared for them, they greeted me with a standing ovation. I was utterly surprised by their authentic enjoyment. It was then that I realized I could expand the two-page story into a longer epic.”
And the rest, as they say, was history.
Approximately six years later, Lamb’s The Princess of Sapphires and Sand: Adventures From A Teller Of Tales had ultimately emerged as a much-anticipated reality, a book that has given way to her becoming the beneficiary of an array of rave reviews in the process.
Accompanied by 84 pages, Lamb’s The Princess of Sapphires and Sand: Adventures From A Teller Of Tales cites that how long before the Mediterranean Sea was blue, a valuable promise was broken, according to a detailed synopsis of this writer’s book via Amazon.com.
“This broken promise left a debt unpaid. Now, the debt collector has resurfaced from this dark past and expects payment in full,” said an Amazon spokesperson for Lamb’s sophomore written work. “An unknowing princess is expected to pay what is owed. She is thrown into a global race through time, unraveling riddles and using her wit to gather scattered treasures. She must repay this family debt . . . or her entire world could be destroyed.

A riveting, fascinating book she began composing amid the unprecedented global pandemic, Lamb said she had already prepared a rough draft of the outline sometime in 2019.
“So the 2020 lockdown (shelter-in-place) was the perfect time to unleash my creativity,” Lamb told MHN. “My illustrator, Pierre Mercieca, was in Malta, a small island nation in the Mediterranean. I met Pierre in March of 2017 on a trip to Malta when he offered me a free tour of Valetta as a new tour guide. Pierre painted the illustrations on canvas and scanned them over during lockdown.
Consequently, Lamb’s The Princess of Sapphires and Sand: Adventures From A Teller Of Tales was published in March 2023.
“One of my main goals is to make history and geography more entertaining for children and adults,” said Lamb, explaining the divine purpose for the book. “I wanted to show how history connects humanity in positive ways through inventions, innovation, and cultural exchange. A child may not be able to travel 4,000 miles and have firsthand experience, but I will do my best to convey an enlightening adventure through the pages of my books that depict the many aspects of the wonderful world.”
Born in the Appalachian Mountains of Eastern Kentucky — via habitation in Tennessee, Minnesota, Ohio, and Florida — Lamb made her authorship debut in 2016 with the release of the 34-page T Sees An Island.
Then approximately one week after she released her second book, Lamb’s third project, The Princess of Sapphires and Sand: The Teacher’s Edition with Common Core Standards, would subsequently debut.
Other books, she said, are on the horizon, most notably The Essential Self-Guided Travel Journal For Paris, France: Travel Should Be An Adventure. Let’s Map It Together.
“I plan to release the book on Black Friday, just before Christmas,” Lamb said. “My new book is a pre-planning journal for your future trip to Paris, France. Many vacation pitfalls can be avoided by organizing your trip ahead of time and knowing exactly what you would like to do and see. Planning leaves room for a few hiccups. This book is appropriate for adults and children ages six-and-up.”
