DALLAS — For the record, Dian LeBrin, at one point in time, wasn’t very fond of English.
In fact, even as an accomplished author who has appropriately found her niche in the ever-so-competitive industry of authorship, she’d be the first to admit that while growing up, English wasn’t one of her best subjects.
“I didn’t know the first thing about publishing a book and, to be quite honest, English was not one of my favorite subjects, especially when I moved from the Virgin Island to Texas,” LeBrin told Making Headline News this week. “The language was almost foreign, although we speak English in St. Croix, they were two different languages, not to mention not being understood by the students. I had to keep explaining to them that everyone on the Island were not Virgins.”
Although it took years for LeBrin to develop some sort of affection for English, it’s safe to assume that once she had grasped a thorough concept of the subject, such a trend consequently began to benefit her mightily in the process.
A native of the city of Dennery — an establishment that is located on the east windward coast of the island nation of Saint Lucia — LeBrin is responsible for having written three books with a fourth one currently in the works.
Having initially began producing books in June 2013, LeBrin is a little more than one month removed from having released her latest book entitled, “Abuser: Book I Of The Pulpit Playboy Series.”
A written document that official hit the market in April, “Abuser: Book I Of The Pulpit Playboy Series” deals largely with women who have been in relationships that were mired by domestic violence, most notably the tumultuous, chaotic events surrounding the featured character, Elect Lady Tosha Kyle, highlighted by her journey that was comprised of love, faith, abuse, hopelessness, and finally triumph.
“Yet, when it comes to domestic violence involving people of high regard in our churches, the topic is essentially (unheard) of,” said a spokesperson for LeBrin’s latest book in an Amazon.com description.
Moreover, as LeBrin essentially suggested in her new book, the truth is that countless church leaders are abusing their wives or girlfriends while many believers still deem it necessary to often put them on pedestals, she writes.
“As a result, they typically receive passes in life as well as our acceptance — by default — of their behaviors,” LeBrin said. “Many women in our churches are suffering. In fact, the one institution that should be providing them help is the very same one that is beating them down. Never think that men with high positions, especially in our churches, are somehow automatically exempt from doing bad things.
“You cannot look at a man and know he’s beating his wife,” LeBrin added. “Undoubtedly, Christian women can get caught up in toxic relationships just like any other women we know.”

Besides “Abuser: Book I Of The Pulpit Playboy Series,” LeBrin also wrote the books:
“He Was There All the Time,” which was published in 2013, and “I’m Not In It By Myself,” which published approximately a year later.
For what it’s worth, her distinctly unique journey into authorship came amid a majority of challenges and hurdles about which she had to clear.
For starters, after undergoing surgery and trying to walk with a cane as one who is legally blind, such a medical procedure nearly cost LeBrin her life, a development about which she described as “the most painful time” of her life to started writing.
“I didn’t know where to start, so I got a book and followed the way the book was written,” LeBrin explained. “On my first day of writing, all I was able to write was my name and the title of the book. I was in so much pain, I immediately had to take some medicine to put me to sleep, because I was hurting so much and, the day after I tried them, I had to tell myself I needed to rest, but I had so much on the inside of me that I didn’t want to forget, so I pushed myself and paid for it later.”
For LeBrin, such perseverance and dedication had ultimately worked out in her favor.
“It took me about three weeks to write the first book,” LeBrin said. “After I started to heal and the day I turned it in to the editor, I began writing the second one the next day. I woke up that morning and I wrote the first 30 pages of the second book.”

Given the immense strides she’s made in such a brief time in the competitive world of authorship, it’s safe to assume that LeBrin has shown no signs of slowing down any time soon.
Book No. 4 in presently being assembled.
“I have seven more books on the shelf, and it’s my plan to release a book for the next seven years,” LeBrin said.
How remarkably amazing for someone who, at one point in time, wasn’t very fond of English.
For the record.
