MEMPHIS — Nine years and counting.
That is how long Mid-South-area Pastor TeNita Freeman has appropriately engaged in her God-mandated assignment by hosting an event she’s persuaded is a part of her longstanding and nationally-acclaimed ministry.
On October 13-14, hundreds of worshippers across the Mid-South and throughout the region will descend upon Ridgeway Assembly of God for The Healing Starts With Me Conference at 3510 Ridgeway Road in Southeast Memphis (Hickory Hill district).
A two-day event that is powered by TeNita Freeman Ministries, this life-enhancing, spiritual renewal conference will feature day and night sessions that begin at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m., respectively, and will be highlighted by a gallery of what Freeman describes as “healing mentors.”
Kicking off the first night of the conference will be Prophetess Julia Bibbs, Founder and CEO of A Woman With A Destiny Ministries.
The daytime sessions the following day will feature Elder Te’Retta Hall, Founder and CEO of Total Concept-Fitness Coach, Elder Tracey Millbrook, Executive Director for We Are Family Community Development Corporation, and Minister Wynde Ross.
Registration for The Healing Starts With Me Conference is $35 and includes admission to each session, a conference T-shirt, a special bottle of anointing oil, and brunch.
In addition, vendor spaces will be available as well as childcare for the Saturday session for children ranging in ages five through 12 on a first come basis.
Men and women are welcome to attend both sessions.
“What’s so intriguing about this conference is that it’s ordained by God, and a testament of my ministry’s journey,” Freeman told Making Headline News this week. “All of my conference themes come through experiences and testimonies, because I desire for the attendees to leave healed, delivered, and set free from circumstances.”
Those planning to attend this year’s conference will witness a slight few — but favorable — changes, Freeman said.
“What I am doing this year that I haven’t done in the past is offering healing sessions for the total family,” Freeman, a native Memphian and graduate of the now defunct Memphis George Washington Carver High said. “So many times, women focus on women. But what about the men and children? Because they need healing as well. Therefore, we have added Saturday sessions for men, women, and teens.”
Having officially accepted her call to the ministry in January 1999, Freeman is currently the Senior Pastor for The Kingdom Center, a non-denominational institution that is located at 1189 Main Street in nearby Southaven, Mississippi.
As she prepares for the ninth year of a conference that has become a fixture within her ministry, Freeman emphasized that her primary focus is to create an environment of what she describes as, “No judgment.”
“This conference is specifically designed for individuals that desire to be healed from circumstances so that can authentically assist others in their healing,” said Freeman, referencing the familiar Biblical passage that is housed in Romans 2:23. “It’s my prayer that every person in attendance will be blessed by the fellowship, songs from musical guests, shopping with our amazing vendors, and networking with others to gain lasting connections.
“Furthermore,” she said, “I will be personally greeting everyone, because the heartbeat of any spiritual meeting should be love and appreciate shown from the visionary.”
Nine years and counting.
