MAKING HEADLINE NEWS MOTHER’S DAY 2018 SPECIAL REPORT
Who says a Pastor can’t have a boo thang?
Regardless, Dr. Alandrus P. Spencer would be the first to admit that he has one.
A really good one, too, mind you.
“It would take me all day to talk about Veronica Spencer, the love of my life,” Spencer told Making Headline News this week. “Simply put, she has been my diamond, my rock, my boo thang.”
While Dr. Spencer could barely refrain from laughing out loud when referring to his companion of nearly 13 years as his “boo thang,” he acknowledged that it is due in large part to his wife’s unyielding love and tireless support that have contributed mightily to his faith walk with God, thus greatly enabled him to walk boldly in his divine purpose with God, his Helper, leading the way.
“Veronica brings a unique love to the table and has patiently been a solid mom in our blended family of two,” Dr. Spencer said while paying homage to his beloved wife as Mother’s Day 2018 looms.
Interestingly and much to his delight, it was Veronica who provided her husband with the much-needed push he needed to make his authorship debut, one that was culminated with the much-anticipated release of his book entitled, Encouraging Moment: Live Life By An Encouraging Moment.
A book that has enjoyed sustained success since it officially hit the market on September 20, 2017, Dr. Spencer recently fielded yet another remarkable achievement amid his published masterpiece when he got word of having been nominated for Author Of The Year in the Second Annual National TAP Awards that will place in November from Jonesboro, Arkansas.
An event that was established by Jonesboro-area public speaker and award-winning author Terrell Jenkins, the National TAP Awards are designed to acknowledge individuals in a variety of categories for their hard work and valiant contributions to the community.
For Dr. Spencer, a native of Jonesboro and the Senior Pastor of Touching Lives Ministry, Inc., many of his peers sensed that his nomination for such a commendable award is a huge testament to his overall body of work, most notably as an accomplished minister, author, as well as an ambassador to his community.
“The special thing about this award is it helps to highlight the work the home team has put in,” Dr. Spencer said. “My team and covenant partners are the best and the support has been immeasurable, so most of all, I would like to win this award that is right in my home state and for the (home) team.”

All things considered, it was because of his wife’s unwavering support, Dr. Spencer is swift to point out, that has especially proven beneficial, particularly for such a time as now.
“Veronica is who inspired and encouraged me to write Encouraging Moment, because she saw it in me long before people were saying it,” Dr. Spencer said. “She saw a person who would go to any length to encourage someone, even when I would face my own set of challenges.”
All of which essentially explains why it is fair game for a Pastor to have a boo thang.
Let the church say Amen.

“Veronica is captivating because, she simply knows who she is and is confident in being herself,” said Dr. Spencer, around here laying it on thick while saluting his bride, as only he could. “Her smile simply lights up the room.”
Hush your mouth…and keep on talking, Reverend!
“Veronica and I work well in ministry together and, as we continue to grow in grace, we have learned this very important principle,” said Dr. Spencer, who couldn’t seem to run out of words while discussing his wife and alluding to the familiar passage that is housed in Matthew 18:19. “And that is the power of agreement. “Again I say unto you, that if two of you shall agree on earth as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.”
Well, that’ll surely preach.
As for having been nominated for TAP Author of The Year, Dr. Spencer said he would be mostly appreciative of his longtime supporters if he emerges victorious, thus comes away with the crystal trophy.
“If I am named Author of the Year, it will certainly speak to several areas, but the very first is how the grace of God has allowed me to get to this moment,” Spencer said. “It would speak to the impact my wife has on my life through her prayer life, love for God, love for me and others. It would speak to the support I have from the home team, family, friends and covenant partners.
“I believe it would speak to people just like me that all things are possible to them that believe,” Dr. Spencer added. “Finally I would like to say thank to Terrell Jenkins and the TAP Award (family) for being a success and helping others to be a success story.”
Something to which his boo thang can greatly attest.
Let the church say Amen.
And then vote.
