DALLAS — Marquist Johnson is an opportunist.
A pretty darn good one, in fact.
Consider, for instance, how just recently, Johnson — a Dallas/Fort Worth-area businessman who has become a fixture in the food catering service industry — had suddenly witnessed his entrepreneurship skills be put to test during a customary barbershop appointment.
“I went to the barbershop today to get my haircut, and before I left, four orders were placed,” Johnson wrote in a midday Facebook post last week. “Thanks everyone, for the business.”
For Johnson, 37, that his business venture is steadily enjoying a favorable presence throughout Dallas’ spacious Metroplex has benefited him mightily, a trend he aspires to enhance much sooner than later.
A native of Dallas whose primary job is an Escalation Rep for Ambit Energy, Johnson’s business food service business is in its infancy stages.
Given the tireless support he’s garnered since he delved off into entrepreneurship, it’s safe to assume the sky’s undoubtedly the limit for this young, vibrant businessman whom, to his distinctly unique credit, is fulfilling his long-awaited dream.
“I’ve always thought of ways to make extra money on the side,” Johnson told Making Headline News during a recent interview. “I feel this business venture was the best idea since it came so natural, and it’s not a hard sell to the public.”
A 2000 graduate of Wilmer–Hutchins High School, Johnson said what he loves mostly about his business is that he’s afforded the luxury of being his own boss.
Add to the notion that his wife, Crystal, has exhibited unyielding support to his newly-established endeavor, and it’s no wonder Johnson seems on the road to savoring sustained success.
“My late grandmother helped spark my interest in cooking,” said Johnson, paying homage to those who fueled his interest to become engaged in the ever-so-competitive food service industry. “She’d always have me helping her in the kitchen for the holidays. We would also watch cooking shows together on Saturdays. My wife also gave me the push to start this business up.”
And the rest, as they say, was history.
To his credit and much to his delight, one would be hard-pressed to realize that Johnson’s food service business is in its infancy stages.
Regardless of the occasion, Johnson’s business is designed to accommodate anyone, any business, or any company with a wide range of delectable foods and desserts, especially with the annual holiday season approaching.
So hit him up.
“I’d like to use this business as a way to meet new people and inspire others to be self-driven,” Johnson said.
Fortunately for him, it seems that people are already inspired, given what unfolded recently during a regular barbershop appointment.
That, to his credit, is a sign of things to come.
