Dallas actress Ash’Lee Priscilla making a name for herself in a career that spans two decades

Andre Johnson November 14, 2018

I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. (Philippians 4:13 KJV)

DALLAS — Ash’Lee Priscilla doesn’t shy away from the notion that she’s diligently working her way toward ensuring that two of her major ambitions come to fruition.

“My ultimate goal is to win an Oscar an open a fine arts college,” Ash’Lee Priscilla told Making Headline News this week.

REMEMBER THE NAME — Much to her delight, she’s not only appropriately discovered her passion and purpose in her selected industry but, because she’s in the prime of her career, it’s safe to assume that Dallas’ Ash’Lee Priscilla’s best and brightest days as an actress are well ahead of her.

To grasp a thorough understanding of why Ash’Lee Priscilla is destined to make such monumental dreams realities, look no further than the continuous progress and strides she’s made since delving off into the ever-so-competitive industry as an actress.

For starters, the 27-year-old Ash’Lee Priscilla will take yet another step toward making her presence felt in her element when she stars in a couple of compelling upcoming shows, most notably the Burning Flame on November 25 at the Plaza Arts Center (located at 1115 Fourth Avenue in nearby Carrollton, Texas), a play that’s written by Corta Ish and directed by Jennifer Sands.

A STAR IS BORN — A graduate of Grambling State University, Ash’Lee Priscilla will star in a couple of compelling upcoming shows, most notably the Burning Flame on November 25 at the Plaza Arts Center (located at 1115 Fourth Avenue in nearby Carrollton, Texas), a play that’s written by Corta Ish and directed by Jennifer Sands.

Not to be outdone, Ash’Lee Priscilla will star as the character Zori in the informative, drama-filled play entitled, Why Women Trip, which will take place December 8, at The Black Academy of Arts and Letters, located at 650 South Griffin Street in Dallas.

All things considered and to her credit, these forthcoming shows essentially are favorable steps for this young actress, whose career undoubtedly is headed in the right direction.

“I have been acting since I was six years old,” Ash’Lee Priscilla, a native of Dallas, said.

Much to her delight, she’s not only appropriately discovered her passion and purpose in her selected industry, but because she’s in the prime of her career, it’s safe to assume that Ash’Lee Priscilla’s best and brightest days as an actress are well ahead of her.

PUTTING IN WORK — An acting tenure that spans more than two decades, Ash’Lee Priscilla’s skills were initially discovered when began acting and competing in a local theater, she recalls.

So remember the name — Ash’Lee Priscilla.

An acting tenure that spans more than two decades, Ash’Lee Priscilla’s skills were initially discovered when began acting and competing in a local theater, she recalls.

“My mother would register me in oratorical contest at my church and school,” said Ash’Lee Priscilla, a 2009 graduate of Dallas’ Booker T. Washington High School for The Performing and Visual Arts. “Every time I competed I won. That’s when I realized I had a gift.”

Fortunately for this young, vibrant actress – who’s armed with a wealth of talent and beauty — her gift has, by all accounts, made room for her.

So much, in fact, that she’s diligently working her way toward ensuring that two of her major ambitions come to fruition.

DREAM CHASING — To grasp a thorough understanding of why Ash’Lee Priscilla is destined to make such monumental dreams realities, look no further than the continuous progress and strides she’s made since delving off into the ever-so-competitive industry as an actress.

So remember the name — Ash’Lee Priscilla.

“The acting industry is a very competitive industry, so competing in competitions while I was younger prepared me for rejection and success. I don’t believe in giving up on your dreams, so determination has propelled me to pursue a career in acting.” — Ash’Lee Priscilla

A career that has existed for some two decades and counting.

So far, so good for this proud Grambling State University alum, who’s going to great lengths to ensure that she remains relevant in an industry whereby it seems the competition grows stiffer by the day.

For what it’s worth, Ash’Lee Priscilla seems to be handing the competitive side of acting rather masterfully, in large part because of her solid competitive nature, coupled with her bend-but-don’t-break faith.

DESTINY STEPS — For what it’s worth, Ash’Lee Priscilla seems to be handing the competitive side of acting rather masterfully, in large part because of her solid competitive nature, coupled with her bend-but-don’t-break faith.

“What I like the most about being an actress is the power to minister to other people through entertainment,” said Ash’Lee Priscilla, whose immeasurable talents have been put on display in such places as Louisiana, Georgia, California, North Carolina, and New York, among other establishments. “Acting is ministry as well as therapy, because I can escape from my own issues in life and portray someone else’s life or story.

“I truly believe I was born with the ability to change people live through entertainment.”

Just like those actresses and actors to whom she looks up, most notably Cicely Tyson, Angela Basset, Meagan Good, Taraji P. Henson, Viola Davis, Ntzoke Shange, Denzel Washington, and Will Smith, among others.

“My mission is to be an inspiration to many people throughout my whole life,” said Ash’Lee Priscilla, adding that mother, Teresa Lackey, and a host of theater instructors have played major roles in her acting career. “I was created to educate the world…you can do all things through Christ Who strengthens you.”

That, after all, goes to show that we had better remember the name — Ash’Lee Priscilla.
