We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves. (Romans 15:1 KJV)
AFFIRMATION OF FAITH
LEWISVILLE, Texas — Chrystal Castillo is certainly one of a kind, is surely a unique, godly woman in her own right.
Consider, for instance, how Castillo is appropriately described in her brief bio on her personal website.
As mentioned at https://www.chryscastillo.com/, Castillo has been widely deemed a “catalyst,” or someone who doesn’t blend in with cultures or trends, but aims to cause reactions in environments that would change the conditions of the energy, mindsets, and lifestyles of those around her.
How befitting for a Christian-based author, who also doesn’t shy away from the notion that it is because of the abundant life that Christ came to give us that will, in turn, provide us with the spiritual — and natural — affirmation we need to possess and savor a victorious life.

“It is the Word of God that affirms us,” Castillo told Making Headline News this week.
Given such an intriguing and thought-provoking analogy undoubtedly rings true, according to this accomplished writer, that practically sums up why she thought it necessary to compose the book, entitled, “Affirmed,” a spiritually-empowering project that is just a few weeks removed from its much-anticipated release.
“When we know His truth, we can speak to the noises of our fears, insecurities, lies, idols, etc.,” said Castillo, explaining her divine purpose for writing a book that has resulted in her making her authorship debut. “Speaking His truth over those noises shatters the voice, the power, and effectiveness of the sound that we hear.”
A book that was officially released in early-May, Castillio spent the past couple of years assembling a book she admittedly wrote during what was a was “a very difficult season” of her life.
But God…Who has the power to affirm us throughout His matchless, life-changing Word, a God Who had ultimately provided this devout woman of faith with some much-needed spiritual relief, particularly during her time in the wilderness.
“A lady at my church would speak life to me every Sunday morning,” said Castillo, recalling the awe-inspiring events that greatly fueled her desire to write her new book. “She was speaking God’s word over my life.”
Ironically and much to Castillo’s delight, such a weekly trend would ultimately inspire her to steadfastly speak life over her seemingly unfavorable situations.
“At one point, I decided to start study God’s word and speak over my own life,” Castillo, a native of Tulsa, Oklahoma, said. “God took me through a season of learning how the word affirms us. The lady at church was affirming with the truth of God’s word and didn’t even realize that she was helping me silence the noise I was hearing.”
So what exactly was the adversary saying to this Christian-oriented author?
“(He was saying) you’re not a great mom….you’re not enough,” Castillo recalled. “Every Sunday, she would tell me an affirmation and it helped me keep pressing.”
And, to her credit, such affirmations had eventually given way to her birthing “Affirmed,” a book she emphasized was created as strategic way to inspire others through the illustration of God’s Word, most notably through writing.
“I love analogies, and in my book, I use them to illustrate God’s Word,” Castillo’s said. “It is clear to me that God has gifted me in this way. I enjoy seeing other people inspired, encouraged, and empowered through the Word of God.”
Castillo’s readers, meanwhile, are grateful of the notion that she obeyed God’s Voice and elected to write “Affirmed,” which is already generating favorable reviews.
“So far, I have had people tell me that they now understand how to speak back to the noise, using the Word of God,” said Castillo, adding that “Affirmed” will be comprised of a three-part series and that plans are in the works to co-author a devotional book with her husband (Orlando Castillo).
Also, Castillo acknowledged that she’s open to accepting speaking engagements, during which she would discuss at length her book and, most importantly, encourage the masses in the process.

Just like that big-hearted fellow church member had done for her.
All things considered, Castillo has deemed it essential to count her blessings daily — to re-affirm that which God has blessed her.
“I am married with two handsome boys,” Castillo said. “I serve on the prayer team for woman’s ministry at my church (One Community Church). I enjoy working on freelance writing projects. I am also very passionate about encouraging other authors to push through their writing journey.”
All of which explains why she’s certainly one of a kind, is surely a unique, godly woman in her own right.
