Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves. (Philippians 2:3 NIV)
GOD’S GAME CHANGER
Melinda Walker would like to issue a rather direct message to other women.
“I want women not to be afraid to tell their truth and stand in it,” Walker, during a recent interview with Making Headline News, said, explaining in detail her latest business venture. “We can’t heal what we won’t confront.”
For Walker, a Mid-South-area businesswoman who resides in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, she deems it essential to customarily issue what she describes as a notable reminder, particularly through her endeavor as the Project Supervisor and CEO of Comfortable In One’s Own Skin.
A venture she established a little more than three years ago, Walker’s Comfortable In One’s Own Skin is centered largely on her wealth of experience as a ghost writer, one whose strategic emphasis includes — but isn’t limited to — compiling anthologies and giving women opportunities to tell their truths and stand in it.
“I also ghost write for those individuals who have a story, but need vision and personality added to bring life to their vision as the vision pusher,” Walker explained. “I write complete books for those who need full assistance. I also coach those who may need assistance with titles, brand names, and anything concerning writing.”

A licensed evangelist, Walker’s stellar gifts as a writer has given way to her having evolved as an accomplished author.
A native of Bogalusa, Louisiana, Walker is the mastermind behind the book entitled, “Right When The Caterpillar Thought Her Life Was Over, She Became A Butterfly.”
A book that is comprised of 235 pages and is nearly two months removed from its ceremoniously release, Walker’s “Right When The Caterpillar Thought Her Life Was Over, She Became A Butterfly” recalls specifically how godly women often experience situations and hardships in life, causing them to go into their shell and run from life, as mentioned in a detailed introduction at Amazon.com.
Interestingly, Walker’s “Right When The Caterpillar Thought Her Life Was Over, She Became A Butterfly” is an intriguing anthology that is comprised of more than 10 women, each of whom have deemed it essential to join forces and share of their respective testimonies, many of which were mired by heartache, pain, abuse, rejection, abandonment, not to mention the appropriate steps in how they were blessed to overcome them.

“When I started compiling the anthologies, the opportunity presented itself to help those women who have powerful testimonies but didn’t know how to put their thoughts on paper,” said Walker, explaining the divine purpose for which her business venture was established. “This gave me a passion to ghost write for them. I was presented with an entire book and that propelled me into completing an entire writing project in less than 90 days. This was the start of my passion to ghost write for others.”
And the rest, as they say, was history.
Much to her delight, Walker has gone to great lengths to enhance and promote Comfortable In One’s Own Skin, a trend that has greatly fueled the desire of other women of empowerment to follow suit, thus buy into her awe-inspiring vision.
“I like the idea of me doing what I love, fulfilling my God given purpose and getting paid to do it,” said Walker, whose venture accommodates individuals ranging mostly in ages 25 to 65. “I’ve been able to travel to California, Florida, Texas and Georgia. My heart desire is to take my passion internationally one day.”
Given the immeasurable strides she made since the inception of Comfortable In One’s Own Skin, it’s safe to assume she’s well on her way to savoring global success through her thriving and progressive business venture.
“To be honest, I absolutely love Oprah,” Walker said. “She inspired me years ago how she would talk about tough issues on her show, but she allowed people to get free from the pain of their past as well as herself.”

Interestingly, Walker’s spiritual father, Pastor Jessie Holloway, has played an integral role in her success, she acknowledged.
“He has taught me how to go through many valleys of death but he taught me to fear no evil because God was with me,” Walker said of Holloway. “He raised me to be transparent and always (helped me to realize that) God will turn my mess into a message one day. He always told me, ‘Lynn, God will use everything you’ve been through for purpose and for his glory.’ He said as God bless you, be a blessing. That’s what my mission is…to be a blessing to others.”
To her distinctly unique credit, she’s doing just that.
