Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies; The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil; She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life. (Proverbs 31:10-12 KJV)
GOD’S LEADING LADY
DALLAS, Texas — It takes one to know one.
A Proverbs 31 Woman, that is.
For Jamila Johnson, this Texas author has come to diligently embrace this notion, particularly since she delved off into the world of authorship in recent years.
“As I studied the Proverbs 31 Woman, the Lord had me to breakdown verse by verse and to be transparent of how I was exemplifying myself at that present time,” Johnson, during an interview this week with Making Headline News, said, referring to the first book she authored.
A native of Dallas, Johnson, 33, made witnessed her authorship debut come full circle on March 28, 2019 with the ceremonious release of The Embellishment Of A Proverbs 31 Woman.

A spiritually-empowering book that is comprised of 104 pages in length, Johnson’s The Embellishment Of A Proverbs 31 Woman is widely regarded as a gentle, yet thought-provoking devotional whereby this Christian-based writer vividly shares what she deems “bits pieces of her own journey” of becoming a virtuous woman, according to a detailed introduction of Johnson’s book at Amazon.com.
Jamila, in fact, is married and struggled with adjusting to her role as a wife early on. Nevertheless, throughout the course of her life, this young, vibrant woman of devout faith had fully come to grips with the reality that being virtuous is not out of reach.
If nothing else, she’s discovered there is what she described as “an inner beauty,” one that is attainable for all women, especially those who can only be attained from the Heavenly Father. Simply put, Johnson’s The Embellishment Of A Proverbs 31 Woman is designed to strategically encourage women to look in the mirror and self-reflect, all the while making adjustments where necessary — both in the natural and the spirit.
A written work this writer has dubbed a “Bible study,” of sorts, Johnson began composing The Embellishment Of A Proverbs 31 Woman on January 1, 2019 and needed just 10 days to complete a project that has drawn rave reviews amongst her readers.
“God told me not to keep (the subject of the book) to myself, but to help the next women across the nation who may be seeking (a sense of direction) to be refined in this modern-day in time,” Johnson, a graduate of DeSoto (Texas) High School, said.
As for the divine message she’s striving to send to her reading audience, Johnson was rather forthright and direct.
“God had to frame my mindset on how to be a Proverbs 31 Woman and an example to women, even if you weren’t taught,” Johnson explained. “He still expects us to live out these standards. I, too, had to learn how to be this woman. I learned this is how I can please the Lord…by being a godly spouse.”

Approximately six months after making her authorship debut, Johnson witnessed the release of The Blemishes Within Jezebel, an 80-page written document whereby she shares insight about her own struggles of battling the proverbial Jezebel spirit, particularly during the first eight years of her marriage.
Throughout what was sometimes a stormy, discomforting journey, in fact, Jamila learned how the Jezebel characteristics were causing her marriage not to thrive in full proof of her ministry, as mentioned in a thorough introduction of this book at Amazon.com.
By and large, The Blemishes Within Jezebel essentially provides information, encouragement, and support to women who need to self-reflect or examine where they need to make necessary changes and, most importantly, how to conquer the Jezebel spirit.
Johnson’s The Blemishes Within Jezebel was released on November 3, 2019.
In addition, Johnson contributed mightily to two other books: Pretty Sad Volumes 2 and 3 in May 2019 and June 2019, respectively.
As for her featured book, Johnson welcomes the favorable feedback she’s garnered.
“Overall, I have gotten a plethora of feedback by women expressing to me that they wish they had The Embellishment Of A Proverbs 31 Woman devotional before marriage,” Johnson said. “The testimonials of readers on Amazon (share of) how this is a great read for women seeking to be married, or nuggets of how to have a successful marriage.”
By the grace of God, Johnson doesn’t shy away from the notion that the Lord has sustained her in her marriage — through the good, the bad, and the ugly, to put it more precisely.
“I am able to share my testimony of how God has equipped me to be the woman I am today, and to help the women through book clubs, speaking engagements, and/or radio shows,” said Johnson, who announced that her book entitled, Fruits of the Spirit, is presently in the works. “The characteristics in the Proverbs 31 is not out of reach, and it is God’s will that we respect our husbands, speak with wisdom, be a help to the needy, and work with our hands, etc.”
Spoken like a true Proverbs 31 Woman.
