EDITOR’S NOTE: Louisiana businesswoman LaDonna Jarden deemed it essential to dedicate this Making Headline News story in memory of her brother, Pastor Rory Murphy whom, on December 30, 2019, died as a result of suffering a stroke and a lengthy battle with multiple sclerosis. He was 55.
PRAYING AND SLAYING
Just before midday CDT Tuesday, LaDonna Jarden took to her social media page, where she staged a rather spirited, captivating post.
A portion of it read:
“Come join us for our Cross Over Praise Party as we celebrate making it into 2021,” Jarden wrote to her more than 1,100 Facebook followers in a post that referenced her church’s annual Watch Night service on New Year’s Eve. “This year has been a trying year, but God kept us through it all!”
Indeed, He did, especially for Jarden, an accomplished Christian-based author whom, during a recent interview with Making Headline News, announced the launch of YouNique Apparel, her DeRidder, Louisiana-based clothing line she established in honor of her late brother, Pastor Rory Murphy, who passed away on December 30, 2019.
“I have always loved to dress,” Jarden, a native of Houston, told MHN. “My brother was a huge part of me dressing the part. He was a sharp dresser.”
REMEMBERING BIG BROTHA
Now that her family’s newly-erecting clothing line is officially open for business, Jarden has become greatly inspired to help others dress the part, particularly those who are looking to spice up their wardrobe in 2021 and beyond.
After all, there is never a bad time to embrace the latest line of fashion, particularly men and women, Jarden husband, Pastor Ronald Jarden says.
“(My bother) passed away December 30, 2019, so I decided instead of memorializing him, I wanted to honor his legacy with a men and women’s clothing line.”
Given her status and ministry in the Body of Christ, Jarden emphasized, among other things, the importance of why her new clothing is imperative for likeminded people in the modern-day church, as well as business professionals in general.
“I am a Pastor’s wife and people thought I should dress a certain way,” Jarden said. “I live by scriptures in Psalms 139:13-14: I am fearfully and wonderfully made.”
A business venture that services people and groups of all ages, Jarden doesn’t shy away from the notion that she’s destined to help YouNique generate a global presence — much sooner than later.
“I feel that whomever God places in my path to be in business with them, it’s what He has for me,” Ronald Jarden said. “I believe your confidence is in your style and you are as confident as you feel. But your attire and the confidence with it make you who you are.”
An accomplished author of a variety of books, Jarden works primarily as a paraprofessional for Deridder Junior High Special Education’s Department.
A business endeavor she established some time in mid-summer, Jarden credits her husband for greatly enabling her to move forward with a clothing line that had been in the works for some time.
“My husband is my biggest supporter and one who motivates me to do business,” LaDonna Jarden said. “He lost 66 pounds in 2019 and he loves to dress as well. I figured a couple who slays together, stays together.”
Especially amid a trying, unprecedented year in which God has steadfastly kept them through it all.
