A man’s gift — given in love or courtesy — makes room for him and brings him before great men. (Proverbs 18:16/Amplified Bible)
STEPPIN’ INTO GREATNESS
If you ever find yourself asking Alonda Ross Brooks how she wound up delving off into the world of authorship, chances are, she’s going to jumpstart the conversation by referencing her dreaded season in the wilderness.
“God told me to write my story two years ago,” Brooks told Making Headline News this week. “But I had to go through the process of healing and God had to take me back to the beginning to show me how He protected me every step of the way of my journey.”
For Brooks, a thriving, progressive businesswoman-turned-author, writing essentially has become a lifestyle, of sorts, for the Rahway, New Jersey native.
Consider, for instance, the valiant contributions Brooks has exhibited in Dr. Jennifer Jones Bryant’s Step Into Leadership Greatness: Leadership Isn’t Just A Title, arguably one of the most highly-anticipated anthologies in recent memory.
A remarkably compelling book that is scheduled to make its official debut in March 2021, Brooks deemed it imperative to compose a chapter entitled, Becoming Empowered To Lead.

Also, Brooks announced that her solo-authored project, I Must Become, is slated to be released in March.
“It is important to tell my life story of overcoming personal challenges, surviving a marriage to an addicted spouse, giving up everything and rebuilding with the help of God and on a firm foundation, and creating my businesses while single parenting,” Brooks said of her forthcoming I Must Become written work. “(I did this) so that someone else would know that they can (survive) as well and to faint not, because the race isn’t given to the shift nor the strong, but the one who endures until the end.
As for Step Into Leadership Greatness: Leadership Isn’t Just A Title, Brook said: “It was important to be a part of that project because. I tell how God opened doors because I said, ‘Yes,’ and trusted the process of Him removing the old and upgrading my new and next.”
Generally, in Brooks’ Becoming Empowered To Lead chapter, her primary focused is centered largely on how God will strategically and miraculously send you through doors to prepare the way for others to come through easier.
“No matter how troubled your history is,” Brooks said, “there is a leader in all of us in some capacity, and it’s up to you to answer God when He lights the path up for you to become.”
Currently residing in Cincinnati, Brooks has written several other books, most notably GLAMBITIOUS Mompreneur, GLAMBITIOUS Entrepreneur, GLAMBITIOUS: Overcoming Fear, Anxiety And Depression, You Got This, Divas Affirmations, and Seasons of Bloom Devotional.
“I pray that people will be more inspired to acknowledge the leader in themselves and lead to their best capacity in the church, community, or wherever their passion leads them to show up in their full excellence,” Brook said.
Interestingly enough, amongst the things about which Brooks doesn’t merely take lightly is the fact that God had predestined her to thrive and flourish as an author.
“I believe God called me to be a leader of my generation and He placed me on the path of becoming to lead others to discover their becoming, to show others it’s possible to literally come from any walk of life and be successful,” Brooks says without hesitation.
A certified business and imaging coach and consultant in her own right, Brooks is a longtime cosmetologist whose careers spans more than two decades.
She’s also the owner and CEO of The Like Sunday Collection, her Cincinnati-based luxury extensions and hair essentials line whereby consumers can order a wide range of products at https://thelikesundaycollection.com/.
