EDITOR’S NOTE: This is the first of two in-depth news stories Making Headline News is featuring on Georgia entrepreneur/author Lakeshia Renae.
For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. (Romans 8:18 NKJV)
GOD’S OVERCOMER
Sometime in Spring 2015, Lakeshia Renae had made up her mind to effectively put the proverbial spirit of procrastination where it belongs.
Behind her.
“(It was) May 2015 and I finished in January 2016, only due to procrastination and allowing the things in life to distract me,” Lakeshia Renae, during an interview this week with Making Headline News, said, recalling the memorable development that had ultimately given way to the Atlanta-based self-proclaimed “mompreneur” making her ceremonious authorship debut.
And it came to pass, Lakeshia Renae’s The Chosen One, her highly-anticipated first book that, much to her delight, has been as good as advertised since its official release in October 2017.
A book that is accompanied by 104 pages, Lakeshia Renae emphasized, among other things, that her primary reason for composing The Chosen One is due in large to her quest of pouring out what she appropriately describes as “the deep emotions” from hurt, trauma, pain, and life experiences so that she could ultimately heal according to God’s perspective.

In essence, Lakeshia Renae’s The Chosen One is an awe-inspiring written work that “contains information about life, my life, and your life,” this brilliantly gifted Christian-based authors acknowledges in a detailed synopsis of her featured book at Amazon.com.
Moreover, Lakeshia Renae explains, her initial book eloquently addresses what she deems the life of the hurt, pain, trials, tribulations, and the ups and downs.
“This book identifies the evil cycles that allowed me to go around and around only to come back to the place where I first started and different emotions,” Lakeshia Renae said. “God brought me through it all and is still delivering me on a continuous basis. I was chosen before I was in mother’s womb. God knew how He would plan my life, and some of the things I went through were because of decisions that I made, being led by my flesh rather than being led by the Holy Spirit.
Lakeshia Renae, it seems, is just warming up while disclosing a more in-depth breakdown of her published masterpiece.
“There are things I did that I should not have done in my life, but I am not my past,” Lakeshia Renae says rather bluntly. “In the mist of it, God kept me close and didn’t let me go. I might have bent, but I did not and will not break. I pray that this book helps you to go a little deeper in God and deliver you from some things that I have dealt with — and that you may be dealing with as you get set free from that bondage. This is my life, and I am as transparent as possible. Life will throw things at you, but you have to be willing to take a stand knowing that God will see you through.”
As for the divine message she aspires to send to her reading audience through her first book, Lakeshia Renae said: “(My message is to) allow people who have and are going through the same challenges of molestation, mental, physical, and emotional abuse, breaking generational curses, helping parents who have lost their children to death as I did, challenges in marriages, to know that they not alone and there is healing as I guide them through the deliverance and healing process as well.”

Lakeshia Renae also authored Who Am I? Book of Affirmations, her sophomore project in which the eBook debuted in July 2021. Not to be outdone, Lakeshia Renae composed Singlemomprenuer, an anthology that also debuted in July 2021 and highlights “resilient single women,” all of whom had diligently pushed through their unfavorable circumstances, thus emerged as successful entrepreneurs.
While she admittedly described the feedback since the release of The Chosen One as “okay,” Lakeshia Renae anticipates a rash of favorable responses now that her featured book has generated headlines through the mainstream media.

“I haven’t been promoting it until now along with the others,” Lakeshia Renae, a longtime Corporate America professional and entrepreneur. “So, with it having so much vital information, in it (in a) world of hurting people, I think this is the right season.”
Generally, Lakeshia Renae acknowledged The Chosen One aligns with the divine purpose for which God has created her primarily because amid her rash of turmoil, her Creator subsequently provided for her a way of escape which, fortunately for her, has changed the overall landscape of her life.
“Being that I had to experience these things and I got through is more than enough for me to know that I was okay,” she said. “(I want to) help others that don’t have that same strength that God gave me as they are slowly dying in spirit because they don’t know which way to go or even know how to pray to get revelation of healing. “I started writing after hearing from God to start journaling every morning. My emotions then led me into writing as I allowed God to guide me with His skillful right hand.”
Most importantly, she put the proverbial spirit of procrastination where it belongs.
Behind her.
