IT CAME TO PASS

**DESTINY STEPS —** Much to her delight, San Antonio author Brenda Flores Robles had finally witnessed her awe-inspiring vision as a book visionary come full circle when The Lesson In Me made its official debut last month.

DALLAS — Amongst the frequently asked questions many of us are asked in the wake of this unprecedented global pandemic is: “What has this pandemic taught you?”

For Brenda Flores Robles, amongst the things about which she has discovered is that she’s been strategically set aside for God’s use, most notably through her immeasurable gift as an author.

“It was last year in June 2020 during the pandemic that God gave me the idea that I needed to do my own collaboration,” Robles told Making Headline News during a recent interview. “I got inspired through a book I was reading called, Latina Empowerment Through Leadership, and it was about several Latina women sharing their journey and wisdom on how they became successful, and I was so inspired that I thought to myself that I, too, would like to be part of a book collaboration.”

And, the rest, as they say, was history.

And just like that, Robles’ quest of spearheading her highly-anticipated anthology, The Lesson In Me, had subsequently become a God-orchestrated reality.

“A few days later, during the beginning of the Black Lives Matter (movement), I saw a post on Instagram that said to support black businesses,” said Robles, recalling the notable developments that led to the production of her featured book. “I immediately went on to my Facebook (page) and went through my feed. I was looking to see who I can support.”

**STANDING OVATION —** A life-enhancing, spiritually-empowering written work that is accompanied by 194 pages in length, Robles’ The Lesson In Me, to her credit, has been as good as advertised since its recent release, given the rash favorable feedback and rave reviews that have blanketed her social media timelines.

As Robles recalls, she eventually was blessed to have crossed paths with two progressive businesswomen, Jenelle Harris of She Exist and Tiffany Largie of Do The Damn Thing, after which had ultimately commenced to establishing a solid working rapport with them.

“I messaged each one, telling them that I would like to support them by buying their merchandise,” Robles explained. “To be exact, I bought their books on May 29, 2020 through Amazon Kindle, and on June 2, 2020, I was asked by Jenelle Harris if I would like to be part of a book collaboration. I was like, ‘What?’ I was in awe because I felt so strong and inspired by the book collaboration I was reading that I couldn’t believe it. The opportunity came fast, and it’s like I manifested that opportunity. I thought it was a dream. At first, I hesitated because the doubt came in and I started thinking, ‘What do I say? Is what I have to say important?’ Then I accepted that I should be in it…that I had to just jump in and learn on the way.”

FAMILY FOCUS

**SOLID SUPPORTING CAST —** “This book is part of my purpose because that is how I became who I am today,” Robles said. “It’s through reflecting on my life and knowing where I have been and where I am today that I can say I am stronger and smarter because of my life experiences, and I don’t hold back anymore — the good and the bad. It’s all part of your journey. We just can’t leave one part out of your life since everything that we go through is part of the magic.”

Released officially on August 31, Robles’ The Lesson In Me anthology is comprised of a gallery of co-authors, all of whom vividly exercised their faith by sharing with the masses the pivotal lessons life has taught them.

“I began telling people about the book collaboration in late June,” Robles said. “I was so inspired by the book collaboration that I was reading and the book collaboration that I was going to be in that I was like, ‘Why not create my own book collaboration with the women? I would like for them to share their stories.’ At first, the book collaboration was only going to be an all-women’s book collaboration, but as time went on, I had thoughts that men’s voices were also important and also include the wisdom and men’s perspective in life, so I set out to find the men that would like to be part of a book collaboration. This book was supposed to come out in December, but I delayed this book and feel that now it’s complete (nearly) one year later, these stories need to be told. This is my first one book collaboration that I created, and I have learned so much about what goes on with creating one.”

Besides The Lesson In Me, Robles last year self-published Set Yourself Free, a book that chronicles her memorable journey and life experiences. In addition, she composed The ABCs of Hospitality, a compelling book whereby she vividly shares tips and insights on how to give better customer service.

“I plan to write more book collaborations and children’s books,” Robles told MHN. “Since I do digital art, I would like to develop stories to go with the art that I create.”

A University of Texas at San Antonio alum who acquired a Master’s Degree in eLearning from the University of Texas A & M Commerce, Robles is an accomplished Texas-based digital and acrylic artist, writer, and a handmade designer who customarily creates accessories for every season.

Interestingly enough, Robles boasts a solid professional resume that includes experience in the education sector as a Substitute Teacher, Teacher Assistance, and Early Childhood Teacher.
