And the Lord answered me, and said, “Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.” (Habakkuk 2:2 NKJV)
PURPOSED TO WRITE
To her distinctly unique credit, Linette King has been putting to good use her God-manifested vision as an accomplished author.
For six-plus years and counting, to put it more precisely.
“I think God originally revealed my calling as an author as a means of escape for myself,” King, 30, told Making Headline News during a weekend interview, assessing her illustrious career as a professional writer. “I was in a really dark place in my life when I tried my hand at writing. Next to prayer, it became my greatest escape. Over time, I’ve been able to use my writing to view things in different perspectives, which have helped with my communication. Now I think my writing has become an escape for others the way it was for me.”
Indeed, it has, given King — a beloved single mother of three — continues to impact many around the globe through her immeasurable authorship heroics.
Since making her ceremonious national bestselling authorship debut in November 2015, King has composed a whopping 105 books. Given the remarkably brilliant strides she made in such a brief timeframe, it’s safe to assume she hasn’t shown signs of slowing down anytime soon.

Heck, why should she, considering King’s unparallel authorship tenure has been nothing short of remarkable with her best and brightest days as a writer well ahead of her?
“Being an author is special because I get to create worlds of people for anyone reading to get lost in, even if only for a moment,” King a native of Moss Point, Mississippi, said. “You can be stressed about work, love, or whatever. But you’re able to block it out while you’re reading.”
For her valiant writing efforts, King’s notable authorship endeavor has brought her favorable revenue in recent years, particularly since she assumed the profitable independent label.
“Before going independent, my book sales were low. But after going independent, I’ve watched them double with each month,” King said. “I love to watch the growth of the sales because it’s like I can’t believe I’m doing this. I’m in awe all of the time while trying to figure out new ways to get my name and work further out there.”
Much to her delight, King’s books are steadily attracting the attention of mainstream media outlets, in large part because she has composed an average of roughly 17 books annually since making her authorship debut six years ago.
According to King, her Top 10 books to date are:
- Addicted To Him, released in 2015
- She Used To Be The Sweetest Girl, released in 2016.
- Pregnant By My Mother’s Husband, released in 2017.
- Don’t Cry, Cheat Back, which debuted in in 2017
- Reckless Disaster, released in 2016
- A Mother’s Revenge, which debuted in 2017
- Death Before Dishonor, which debuted in 2018. He Was Mine First, released in 2018.
- Accalia, which debuted in 2015 and,
- Tangled In Betrayal, which debuted in 2019
As for her forthcoming projects, King announced that Tangled In Betrayal 4, She Ain’t You 3, and the remainder of the Addicted To Him series are currently in the works, a clear sign she hasn’t shown signs of slowing down anytime soon.
“Being an author has helped a great deal with my communication skills,” King said. “It has also helped with anger management since I can write out what I’m thinking in a story and simply let it go. It has also given me a platform to help others.”

So much, in fact, that King has appropriately assumed the notable role as a mentor to other writers and aspiring authors, something by which she doesn’t merely take lightly.
“I help every author that comes to me in any way I can,” King said. “I’ve stayed on the phone for hours walking authors through the steps of self-publishing. I answer all questions to the best of my ability and, if I don’t know the answers, I point them towards someone who does.”
Amongst the reasons is that she’s been putting to good use her God-manifested vision as an accomplished author.
For six-plus years and counting, to put it more precisely.
HER REASONS
“If you are wanting to write a book or start a business, do it,” King said. “If you wait for the right time, life will pass you by and you’ll still be waiting. Take a leap of faith and keep God first. Everything else will fall into place, and it’ll be a wonderful feeling.
“I love writing so much that I honestly don’t see an end date.”
