EDITOR’S NOTE: In honor of Spring C. Jackson’s continuous success in her chosen profession, Making Headline News deemed it essential to label this feature story our annual Christmas Special Report.
But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me, for of such is the kingdom of heaven. (Matthew 19:14 KJV)
KINGDOM CONNECTIONS
Spring C. Jackson’s entrepreneurial reputation is such that she boasts a heart for people.
Especially children.
Consider, for instance, the immeasurable strides Jackson has made as the face of Kingdom Kids Childcare, her Cedar Rapids, Iowa-based featured endeavor that has become a fixture for serving as a child’s home away from home environment.
Located at 3511 Oakland Road Northeast in Cedar Rapids, Kingdom Kids Childcare recently added a second branch, this one in Georgia, where Jackson currently resides.
Suitably regarded as an age-appropriate curriculum, Kingdom Kids Childcare offers a wide range of activities, coupled with delectable, nutritious meals for kids.

“At Kingdom Kids Childcare, we believe in the value and uniqueness of each child we serve,” said a spokesperson Jackson’s childcare venture, introducing the company’s mission. “Our childcare experience is designed to promote each child’s own individual social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development. As caregivers and educators, our mission is to provide a safe and developmentally appropriate learning environment, which fosters a child’s natural desire to explore, discover, create, and become a lifelong learner.”
Said Jackson in revealing her company’s mission: “Our program has a strong commitment to provide premium quality childcare including accessibility and diversity. We exist to attract and maintain client families with an open-door policy. It embraces all who desire to provide a better quality of care, preparedness and education for their children. It is built around the concept that children are born ready to learn. As caregivers, we strive to create a learning environment that is safe, stimulating and encouraging.”
Generally, the following principles are excerpted from the Iowa Early Learning Standards (2019) and serve as the foundation for Kingdom Kids Childcare curriculum:
- Children develop knowledge of their world through active interactions with caregivers, peers, materials, and events.
- Learning is sequential, building on prior understandings and experiences.
- Learning proceeds at different rates in each area and each child; children will show a range of skills and understandings in any one area of development.
- Learning in each area is interconnected. Young children learn best through experiences, which incorporate several areas of development.
- Learning is embedded in a culture. Children learn best when their learning activities are rooted in a familiar cultural context.
- Learning begins in the family, continues in early care and education settings, and depends on parent involvement and caregiver guidance and,
- All children have the potential to achieve the Iowa Learning Standards with appropriate supports and instruction
A credible childcare facility that customarily accommodates children ages six weeks to 10 years old, Jackson doesn’t shy away from the notion that Kingdom Kids aligns with the divine purpose for which she was created.
“This business is nothing short of me fulfilling my God given purpose,” Jackson told Making Headline News during a recent interview. “Possessing the ability to get children to be engaged and learn is a talent that was gifted to me. Being a pivotal part of community to provide care for lower income families whose families and children need us the most. We will never treat our families like numbers or clients. Our kingdom kids, parents, and employees are a part of our family, embodying our tag line, ‘Our Kingdom Loves Our Kids.’”
A native of Chicago, Jackson said what she likes the most about her business venture is the fact that Kingdom Kids Childcare has become a credible resource for lower-income families in the community, not to mention one that provides employment that prides itself on the culture of family.
“(We’re committed to) providing an opportunity to gain good skills to become a lifelong early childhood educator or move on & take the experience to the next level in life,” Jackson said. ““(We’re also committed to) being a resource in any community that we have or will open a location in that caters to families that are in the most need. Families that struggle to make ends meet that would love to have their children in high end childcare centers, but it would break the bank. We are dedicated to providing the same quality care for our families, affording children learning through play in the areas of cognitive, social and emotional, fine motor, gross motor and language development.”
A graduate of Cedar Rapids’ Washington High School, Jackson enrolled in childhood education classes at nearby Kirkwood Community College. She ultimately earned a Childhood Development Associate Certification, then completed “countless” hours of training, classes, and conferences in the area of Early Childhood Education.
For what it’s worth, Jackson’s has been nothing short of impressive since delving off into her chosen line of work which, much to her delight, aligns with her God-manifested purpose.

“This venture has taken me South (to Georgia) from the Midwest (Iowa), but the ultimate goal is to franchise the business and have childcares across the states with the same culture and mission,” Jackson said.
Given the continuous strides she’s made since her featured endeavor’s inception, she seems well on her way to making such an ambition a highly-anticipated reality.
