JOI TO THE WORLD: Maryland businesswoman Dr. Joi Brown earns Honorary Doctorate in what has been a banner year

Andre Johnson December 19, 2021 7 min read

EDITOR’S NOTE: In honor of Dr. Joi Brown’s monumental milestone, Making Headline News deemed it essential to label this feature story our annual Christmas Special Report.

As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were. (Romans 4:16-22 KJV)

FULL OF JOI

WITH GODLY HONORS — For Dr. Joi Brown, arguably the grandest door opening emerged on December 4 when the Waldorf, Maryland-based businesswoman received an Honorary Doctor of Philosophy from Trinity International University of Ambassadors, most notably for her lifetime commitment to community service and empowerment of others.

“Dr. Joi Brown” sure has a nifty ring to it.

“On April 29, my birthday, I declared this as my ‘Season of Greater,’” Brown, during a recent interview with Making Headline News, said, recalling her rash of achievements in recent months. “And within six months, October 29, God has opened so many doors for me to continue to walk in my gifts.”
For Dr. Brown, arguably the grandest door opening emerged on December 4 when the Waldorf, Maryland-based businesswoman received an Honorary Doctor of Philosophy from Trinity International University of Ambassadors, most notably for her lifetime commitment to community service and empowerment of others.
“But God…God is so awesome,” Dr. Brown said with great excitement. “I understand the calling on my life, and I accept my godly assignment. I have seen how God opened doors and moved in my life. He is so awesome and worthily to be praised.

YES SHE CAN — “My family instilled in me the ‘I Can’ mantra. In my family, I did not say ‘I can’t.’ It was ‘I Can’ or ‘I Will.’ It was this belief that allowed me to keep going no matter what life throws at me. My life has been a testament of when you stay true to who you are and whose you are, that God will turn your test into a testimony. I know I would not be where I am today without His grace and mercy. I am so thankful that He chose me. God is so awesome, and He does great things. I know for myself how great He is.”

“I walked in my gifts and talents daily and I know who I am and whose I am,” Dr. Brown continued. “God did it. I am thankful that He chose me. I will continue to share this Joi with the world. I stand as a testament that God answers prayers and will give you the desires of your heart. All I can say is, ‘But God and Won’t He Do It!’”

A woman of many hats who functions fervently as a Career Strategist, Certified Life Coach, International Bestselling Author, Empowerment Speaker, and an entrepreneur who’s widely known as the “Positive Energizer,” Dr. Brown is the mastermind behind 3EEE Consulting, her Maryland-based featured that has become a fixture for educating, equipping, and empowering people through coaching, conversations, and workshops in career and entrepreneur development, conflict resolution, goal setting, health and wellness, leadership, team development, and personal and professional branding.

SOLID SUPPORTING CAST — “I have been blessed to have teachers, co-workers, supervisors, coaches, and mentors in my life that saw something in me and inspired me with an encouraging word, a listening ear, honest feedback, or an opportunity that allowed my gifts and talents to shine,” Dr. Brown said. “People poured into me and changed my life, and it’s my passion and purpose to pay it forwarded. I bring Joi to every place I go.”

Interestingly enough, Dr. Brown’s sustained success in her massive calling has given way to what is shaping up to be a productive 2022. Dr. Brown’s itinerary includes appearances at the following events:

  • On The Edge With April Mahoney (January 2022)

  • Prepared and Positioned Masterclass (January 2022)

  • The Shift Workshop (February 2022)

  • 2022 Who’s Who In Kingdom Business Online Directory (March 2022) and,

  • Top 50 Women’s History Month With Renee Huffman (March 2022)

“As an empowerment speaker, I continue to educate, equip, and empower audiences to know that the potential for greatness lives within them,” Dr. Brown explained. “Within six months, I have spoken at numerous summits, podcasts, radio shows, and have been recognized and featured in multiple magazines that have allowed me to encourage and elevate people worldwide.”

NAME AND CLAIM IT — “On April 29, my birthday, I declared this as my ‘Season of Greater,’” Brown, during a recent interview with Making Headline News, said, recalling her rash of achievements in recent months. “And within six months, October 29, God has opened so many doors for me to continue to walk in my gifts.”

For what it’s worth, Dr. Brown said she doesn’t take lightly the array of blessings God has bestowed upon her during what could be appropriately dubbed a banner year, of sorts.

“Each day, I am blessed to walk in my gifts and talents,” Dr. Brown says without hesitation. “As I reflect on my journey — starting as an intern within the federal government — I have landed my dream job as an HR Director. God elevated me to a place where He is calling me to make a difference and impact the world.”

In essence, Dr. Brown doesn’t shy away from the notion that her highly-anticipated season of a rebirth comes amid humble beginnings.

“If you knew my story and all that I have been through, you will understand how thankful I am,” Dr. Brown said. “All I can say is, ‘But God.’ “There is more…God was not through with me yet.”

DESTINY STEPS — A woman of many hats who functions fervently as a Career Strategist, Certified Life Coach, International Bestselling Author, Empowerment Speaker, and an entrepreneur who’s widely known as the “Positive Energizer,” Dr.

When asked what’s so special about she’s managed to persevere and overcome adversity, Dr. Brown said:

“My family instilled in me the ‘I Can’ mantra.

All things considered, Dr. Brown is forever grateful for the immeasurable support from her family, most notably her praying grandmother.

“Growing up, I was told by my grandmother I could achieve anything that I set my mind to if I believed in myself,” Dr. Brown recalls. “My family would tell me I am a ‘Joi to this World,’ and I believed that. My family has truly been the biggest supporter of my dreams. If I wanted to try something, they encouraged me. There was no limit to what I wanted to achieve or try in life.

IN AWE OF GOD’S AWESOMENESS — “But God…God is so awesome,” Dr. Brown said with great excitement. “I understand the calling on my life, and I accept my godly assignment. I have seen how God opened doors and moved in my life. He is so awesome and worthily to be praised.”

“I have been blessed to have teachers, co-workers, supervisors, coaches, and mentors in my life that saw something in me and inspired me with an encouraging word, a listening ear, honest feedback, or an opportunity that allowed my gifts and talents to shine,” Dr. Brown continued. “People poured into me and changed my life, and it’s my passion and purpose to pay it forwarded. I bring Joi to every place I go.”

Make that “Dr. Joi,” to put it more precisely.
