For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. (Romans 8:18 NKJV)
GOOD MORNING, GORGEOUS
It is a question Dr. Dana Barnett-Watson has asked her Creator time and time again.
“You know, I’ve always asked God why I had to experience life the way it was given to me,” Dr. Barnett-Watson, during an interview this week with Making Headline News, disclosing a great deal of transparency. “I was constantly in toxic relationships and just struggled with finding true love. Dealing with domestic violence as a young single mother and infidelity in my marriage, I realize that I relate to so many people because this is the calling that God has in my life.
“I’m able to witness and talk about God’s healing power because I’ve been there and done that,” Dr. Barnett-Watson continued. “I’ve been broken down into pieces and God constantly reaches down from heaven to put me back together again.”
Indeed, He did.
So much so that He has strategically assigned Barnett-Watson to share her life-altering truths by hosting her first collaborative book project.

A native of Norfolk, Virginia, Dr. Barnett-Watson is the mastermind behind Life After Divorce: Turning Pain Into Power, her highly-anticipated anthology that has created a fervent buzz throughout various message boards and social media platforms.
Dr. Barnett-Watson’s Life After Divorce: Turning Pain Into Power is scheduled to debut in Winter 2022.
A spiritually-empowering collaborative written work and her sixth book to date, Dr. Barnett- Watson’s Life After Divorce: Turning Pain Into Power is an intriguingly informative, fascinating collection of life-changing stories by eight co-authors, each of whom appropriately found the strength and perseverance to turn their pain into power after divorce.
NEVER, EVER FORGET…
“We are healed through our transparency and being able to read the stories of others,” Dr. Barnett-Watson told MHN, providing a detailed introduction of her first orchestrated anthology. “This book is a book of encouragement to help divorcees and individuals who are contemplating divorcing their significant others. Fear, worry, and depression will have us thinking that life is over after experiencing a divorce and that is far from the truth. Life is just beginning and there is a true love, a new purpose, and healing waiting for you. It’s time to start your new chapter.”
Dr. Barnett-Watson’s Life After Divorce: Turning Pain Into Power is her first book this year — this after she produced three in 2021, two of which were anthologies.

“I’m reminded of Isaiah 61:3: To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified,” Dr. Barnett-Watson said of her latest book project. “So through my praise and thanksgiving, I give God the glory. He is worthy and able to do more than we think he can.”
As Dr. Barnett-Watson explained, she began recruiting for co-writers for her anthology in April 2022 and we completed the book in August. The only thing left is the ceremonious release of a collaborative book that is as good as advertised.
BEAUTY FOR ASHES
“This book will be published through Black Gold Publishing and I have received great reviews from the publisher as well as test readers,” Dr. Barnett-Watson said. “Yes, it was important that I got feedback from other divorcees to be able to ensure this book is beneficial to their needs. This book is a book of encouragement to help divorcees and individuals who are contemplating divorcing their significant others. Fear, worry, and depression will have us thinking that life is over after experiencing a divorce and that is far from the truth. Life is just beginning and there is a true love, a new purpose, and healing waiting for you. It’s time to start your new chapter.”
Dr. Barnett-Watson in 2014 made her made her authorship debut with the ceremonious release of Because He Loves Me, a 134-page masterpiece that vividly spotlights a wide range of women’s issues surrounding parenting, most notably relationships, family, self-love, and domestic abuse.
Three years later, she joined an anthology for the first time when she graced the pages of I’m A Praying Wife.
Then in 2021, Dr. Barnett-Watson produced a trio of books: Man of Deception, Women Who Pray, and It Cost To Be The Boss.
As for the forthcoming release of her first anthology, Dr. Barnett-Watson said this is a faith-based assignment by which God had given her.
“God placed it on my heart to write a book to encourage others who may feel lost or stuck after experiencing a divorce,” Dr. Barnett-Watson told MHN, adding that an official book launch conference is currently in the works as well as a host of TV and podcasts interviews for her co-authors.
SEASON OF A REBIRTH
Also, Dr. Barnett-Watson announced that she soon will be creating a Life After Divorce: Turning Your Pain Into Power Facebook group.
“So if you are looking for tips, encouragement, and support, make sure you find us on Facebook,” Dr. Barnett-Watson, the owner of Elev8te Health & Wellness, LLC, told MHN. “I have an upcoming book coaching group starting in January 2023, teaching others how to turn their pain into their purpose by becoming published authors.”
