Longtime Maryland Internal Medicine Physician Dr. Marcea Burnette Whitaker, MD named Making Headline News’ International Women’s Day Woman of the Year for 2023

Andre Johnson March 9, 2023 6 min read

Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. (1 Corinthians 15:58 NIV)

BEAUTY FOR ASHES

THE ROMANS 8:28 AFFECT — For Dr. Marcea Burnette Whitaker, MD, 2022, by all accounts, was a year filled with an array of life-altering memories, a trend that has ultimately given way to the longtime Maryland Internal Medicine Physician being suitably dubbed Making Headline News’ International Women’s Day Woman of the Year for 2023.

At the end of day, say this about Dr. Marcea Burnette Whitaker, MD:

She steadfastly took the good with the bad — and vice versa — throughout what essentially was a challenging, yet resourceful and progressive 2022.

“Twenty twenty-two had been a year of building,” Dr. Whitaker recalls. “A year when you may see progress, but you don’t see brilliance. It was a year of laying a foundation, of putting in the work of consistency and determination, of trusting the plan even in the middle passage of business as I call it. The period where you are depositing, but you may not see ROI. It can be difficult, it can be frustrating, but it also builds character.”

For Dr. Whitaker, 2022, by all accounts, was a year filled with an array of life-altering memories, a trend that has ultimately given way to the longtime Maryland Internal Medicine Physician being suitably dubbed Making Headline News’ International Women’s Day Woman of the Year for 2023.

SALUTING WOMEN WHO SHAPE OUR WORLD

“Being named Making Headline News International Women’s Day Woman of the Year for 2023 is so exciting,” Dr. Whitaker said. “Doing amazing work with amazing individuals confirms I am making an impact. The award was unexpected and was icing on the cake. I appreciate MHN for this high honor.”

Originally called the International Working Women’s Day, this day is celebrated annually on March 8 and customarily commemorates the movement for women’s rights.

According to https://www.internationalwomensday.com/,  organizations and individuals around the world have collectively become committed to helping women and girls achieve their ambitions, challenge conscious and unconscious bias, as well as call for gender-balanced leadership and value women and men’s contributions equally.

SET ASIDE FOR GOD’S USE — “One of my goals is to increase visibility,” Dr. Whitaker told MHN. “Increased visibility or being seen can be frowned upon, but not when you view it from the perspective of a lighthouse. Lighthouses are meant to be seen, they are meant to shine, and they are meant to be a dependable resource. That light is a beacon for ships, a target for those that are lost, and a pathway for those to find their way to safer shores. I am that light.”

In addition, this day was designed in part to create inclusive flexible cultures. From awareness-raising to concrete action, organizations rallied their people to pledge support to help forge gender parity on International Women’s Day and beyond, according to a spokesperson for IWD.

A Master Destiny Life Coach who is the face of In Full Bloom Health and Life Coaching and Girl Boss Life Academy, Dr. Whitaker has become a fixture for helping professional women break out of what she calls “their personal prison” so they can discover who they are, decide what they want, and deliver on their destiny.

Generally, her “signature programs” are the Girl Boss Life venture and the 12-Month Mastermind Positioned & Powerful, whereby clients strategically learn what she deems “The Mind, The Method, and The Mastery,” particularly as it relates to positioning for the “best year of their lives,” she acknowledged.

AND IT CAME TO PASS

STANDING OVATION — “Being named Making Headline News International Women’s Day Woman of the Year for 2023 is so exciting,” Dr. Whitaker said. “Doing amazing work with amazing individuals confirms I am making an impact. The award was unexpected and was icing on the cake. I appreciate MHN for this high honor.”

A native of Bowie, Maryland, Dr. Whitaker has been recognized by USA Today as a “Top Entrepreneur To Watch.” She has also been featured in Forbes, Kivo Daily and Speakers Magazine.

Interestingly enough, she has emerged as a professional speaker, a trend that has afforded her the golden opportunity to speak on leadership and women’s empowerment.

Just recently, Dr. Whitaker witnessed the ceremonious release of Daddy’s Girl: Living After The Loss of A Legend, the highly-anticipated Amazon No. 1 bestseller anthology that is comprised of 10 co-authors.

A collaborative written that had created a fervent buzz across various message boards and social media platforms long before its release in December, Dr. Whitaker’s Daddy’s Girl: Living After The Loss of A Legend has drawn rave reviews and figures to be an intriguing read for years to come.

A collaborative book project she produced in the memory of her father, Dr. Whitaker’s parents were killed in a car accident in 2006.

“Through my journey, I have hit many challenges, many setbacks, and many hurdles,” Dr. Whitaker said. “For every mountain climbed, for every comeback from the setback, for every hurdle scaled, I became stronger and trusted myself more…and not just for me. But for those who I am called to serve. My message is never quit.”

Looking ahead, amongst Dr. Whitaker’s strategic ambitions, she acknowledged, is to continue devising ways to empowering like-minded individuals become better versions of themselves, particularly as a well-respected philanthropist and in her chosen profession.

GOD-ORDERED STEPS

BLESSED REGARDLESS — “Twenty twenty-two had been a year of building,” Dr.

“One of my goals is to increase visibility,” Dr.

Indeed, she is, as evidenced by the immeasurable global impact she continues to exemplify — with God, her Helper, steering the way.
