ONE SHINING MOMENT: Washington, DC mental health advocate Dr. Rhonda M. Wood named Making Headline News’ International Women’s Day Woman of the Year for 2023

Andre Johnson March 18, 2023 6 min read

Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. (1 Corinthians 15:58 NIV)

ABUNDANTLY BLESSED

RING OF HONOR — A renowned International Purpose Coach, Dr. Rhonda Wood has been named Making Headline News’ International Women’s Day Woman of the Year for 2023.

What a remarkably memorable year it has been for Dr. Rhonda Wood.

“This past year has been a year of increase and expansion,” Dr. Wood recalls. “I experienced an increase in my faith, responsibilities, and influence. I received an honorary doctorate degree in Philosophy, a United Nations Global Women Foundation Woman of Distinction Award, and the Joseph R. Biden Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award.”

That’s not all this beloved and well-respected Washington, DC-based philanthropist had accomplished during what was a banner past year.

“I expanded my reach to make a global impact by accepting invitations to travel overseas to visit and speak in France, England, and Belgium,” Dr. Wood recalls. “I met several people, made great connections, and was offered opportunities to share my message with people and organizations in other countries. In addition, I received offers for my own television and radio programs.”

SALUTING WOMEN WHO SHAPE OUR WORLD

Not to be outdone, Dr. Wood has become the recipient of yet another notable honor.

The renowned International Purpose Coach has been named Making Headline News’ International Women’s Day Woman of the Year for 2023.

Originally called the International Working Women’s Day, this day is celebrated annually on March 8 and customarily commemorates the movement for women’s rights.

MORE WORK TO BE DONE — “Looking ahead, I want to inspire women by encouraging them to continue to move forward and live a life of purpose and fulfillment despite past experiences or current circumstances,” Dr. Wood said, when asked about to her forthcoming goals and ambitions.

According to https://www.internationalwomensday.com/, organizations and individuals around the world have collectively become committed to helping women and girls achieve their ambitions, challenge conscious and unconscious bias, as well as call for gender-balanced leadership and value women and men’s contributions equally.

In addition, this day was designed in part to create inclusive flexible cultures. From awareness-raising to concrete action, organizations rallied their people to pledge support to help forge gender parity on International Women’s Day and beyond, according to a spokesperson for IWD.

“I was ecstatic to learn that I had been named Making Headline News International Women’s Day Woman of the Year for 2023,” Dr. Wood told MHN this week. “I was deeply honored to have my mental health advocacy work and accomplishments recognized by such an esteemed media platform. I am grateful for the open doors that allow me to use my voice and talents to touch the lives and hearts of women worldwide.”

Interestingly enough, Dr. Wood is the first ever American radio presenter with her own show called, Break the Silence, which airs via https://www.womensradio.com/.

A multi-award-winning radio station based in the UK, Break The Silence customarily focuses on supporting women’s mental health and well-being.

Also, Dr. Wood has been named host of the highly anticipated TV show, Talks, Tea, And A Bit of Therapy, which will be premiering soon exclusively in partnership with the OnStage Plus TV Network and aired to millions of households around the world.

REAPING A HARVEST

TRULY WELL-DESERVED —– “I was ecstatic to learn that I had been named Making Headline News International Women’s Day Woman of the Year for 2023,” Dr. Wood told MHN this week. “I was deeply honored to have my mental health advocacy work and accomplishments recognized by such an esteemed media platform. I am grateful for the open doors that allow me to use my voice and talents to touch the lives and hearts of women worldwide.”

Dr. Wood boasts an immeasurable professional resume that, by all accounts, is nothing short of remarkable, given she routinely trains individuals and corporations worldwide on how to shatter mental health stigmas and embrace compassion, awareness, knowledge, and acceptance.

Widely regarded as an influential figure in her own right, Dr. Wood is the mastermind behind the soon-to-be-released book, Truths, Traumas, and Triumphs, a remarkably compelling written work that guides readers from brokenness to breakthroughs so that they are inspired to step out of secrets, silence, shame, and stigma to stand in their truth and embrace their divine destiny. Also, the Washington, DC-based businesswoman is a contributing author for a gallery of No. 1 bestselling anthologies: Passion Purpose Peace, Daddy’s Girl, and Unleashing Your Undeniable Impact (which is spearheaded by renowned speaker Les Brown).

LASTING GLOBAL IMPACT

OWNING THE MOMENT — “This past year has been a year of increase and expansion,” Dr.

“Looking ahead, I want to inspire women by encouraging them to continue to move forward and live a life of purpose and fulfillment despite past experiences or current circumstances,” Dr. Wood said, when asked about to her forthcoming goals and ambitions. “Fulfillment is not necessarily about external measures such as money, power, or status. Instead, it is about your ability to work in your unique lane of genius and make a positive impact in the lives of others. It is about living authentically, committing to only what sets your soul on fire and challenges you to be your best. It is about sharing your gifts with the world so that you leave a legacy that will inspire future generations for years to come.

“Another significant next step for me is to become a model figure in the realm of mental health advocacy and awareness,” Dr. Wood continued. “I want to touch the lives of women around the world through my speaking, writing, coaching, and television and radio shows. I want to inspire them to make peace with their past, honor their truth, and walk confidently in their irrefutable greatness. I also plan to partner with like-minded individuals and organizations worldwide to create open, inclusive, and supportive cultures around mental health and efforts to shatter mental health stigmas through compassion, awareness, and acceptance.”
