“Every little girl watching tonight sees that this is a country of possibilities. And to the children of our country, regardless of your gender, our country has sent you a clear message: dream with ambition, lead with conviction, and see yourself in a way that others might not see you, simply because they’ve never seen it before. And we will applaud you every step of the way.” — Kamala Harris, Vice-President Elect of the United States of America
NATIONAL HONORABLE MENTION
Tiffany Stirgus Royal’s immeasurable tenure as an educator spans some 17-plus years.
Much to her delight, she’s about to be rewarded in the coming months for the fruits of her labor.
According to a spokesperson for ViVi Cole Coaching & Consulting LLC — an official certifying organization that is affiliated with President Joseph R. Biden — Royal, an Atlanta-area educator, has been named a recipient for The Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award.
Royal will be officially honored during a ceremony December 9 New Black Wall Street Market at 2 p.m. EST in Stonecrest, Georgia.
Tickets to the ceremony will be available July 11, according to a spokesperson for the event.
Generally, The Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award is widely considered one of the highest honors presented to individuals who have overcome significant obstacles to achieve impressive accomplishments, thus dedicated their lives to advocating for the most vulnerable among humanity and acted with bravery to drive change in their communities — and across the world — while blazing trails for generations to come.
For Royal, her rise to achieving her latest honors comes amid humble beginnings.

As part of Making Headline News’ 2023 Essence Music Festival advance coverage leading to the “the party with a purpose” event June 29 through July 3 in New Orleans, Royal — a well-respected catalyst for Gwinnett County Public Schools — said she had known since she was a child she would someday delve into the education sector.
Nearly two decades removed from having made her professional education debut, the New Orleans native undoubtedly has found her fervent niche in her chosen professional, having emerged as a beloved influential figure in her own right.
“When I was a child, my teacher was present in my community, not just in our schools,” Royal, 41, told Making Headline News this week. “They
attended our events — dances, athletic events, parades, in church, etc. — and gave us a since of belonging. My teachers showed that they cared about me, not just as a student, but also as a person. They wanted to make sure I grew up in a safe, nurturing environment, and I wanted to do the same when I became an educator.”
To her credit, she’s doing just that with God, her Helper, steering the way.
When asked to assess being named a recipient for The Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award, Royal credited her measureless career as an educator as arguably the biggest factor for inheriting such a prestigious honor, an announcement she had become knowledgeable a few weeks ago.
“It is a humbling experience, to say the least,” Royal told MHN. “I volunteer and show up for my students and community because it is the right thing to do…not to be recognized for the work. I am a more of a behind-the-scenes type of person. Actions show a person’s true character and their heart, not their words.”
A resident of Lawrenceville, Georgia, Royal boasts a wealth of experience in Title 1 schools, a federal education program that supports low-income students throughout the nation.
A member of Sigma Chi Psi Sorority Inc., a sorority designed for women who have earned degrees in the online community, Royal earned an undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from Southern University and a Masters of Curriculum Camp Instruction from The University of Phoenix. She also holds a Specialist Degree in Brain-based Teaching and Leadership from Nova Southeastern University.
SITTING IN SUCCESS
As for her personal mission for operating in her element as an educator, Royal said, “I believe that every student can learn. They just need a trustworthy, reliable educator in their corner to support them.”
To her credit, Royal is doing just that.
And, much to her delight, she’s about to be rewarded in the coming months for the fruits of her labor.
