“Every little girl watching tonight sees that this is a country of possibilities. And to the children of our country, regardless of your gender, our country has sent you a clear message: dream with ambition, lead with conviction, and see yourself in a way that others might not see you, simply because they’ve never seen it before. And we will applaud you every step of the way.” — Kamala Harris, Vice-President Elect of the United States of America
NATIONAL GOD-ORERED STEPS
What does Judith Lynne Cotten and Nike have in common?
“I love Nike’s saying: Just Do It,” Cotten, 61, during an interview this week with Making Headline News, said, recalling the assortment of community service milestones she’s garnered throughout her notable career in her chosen profession. “I’ve never been scared to try something once.”
Indeed, she hasn’t, especially with regards to her dedicatory service to her community, as well as the ever-evolving real estate and insurance industries.
Is it, by all accounts, due in large part to Cotten’s valiant contributions through community service that she has been named a recipient for The Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award.
Cotten will be officially honored during a ceremony on December 9, 2023, at the New Black Wall Street Market in Stonecrest, Georgia at 2 p.m. EST.
Tickets to the ceremony will be available July 11, according to a spokesperson for the event.
Generally, The Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award is widely considered one of the highest honors presented to individuals who have overcome significant obstacles to achieve impressive accomplishments, thus dedicated their lives to advocating for the most vulnerable among humanity and acted with bravery to drive change in their communities — and across the world — while blazing trails for generations to come.
For Cotten, a native of Brooklyn, New York, her latest achievement comes amid her notable community-based achievements, most notably as a longtime real estate broker, real estate instructor, real estate investor consultant, property manager, life and health insurance producer, paralegal, certified Life coach, and a nonprofit organization owner of what is Know Your Worth.

As part of Making Headline News’ 2023 Essence Music Festival advance coverage leading to “the party with a purpose” event June 29 through July 3 in New Orleans, Cotten — a retired Army veteran — express her gratitude in large part for having garnered high praise for her contributions while serving in the Judge Advocate General (JAG) Corps.
“I enjoy helping others better themselves,” Cotten told MHN. “As a life coach, I offer resolution and quality assurance to instruct and guide others how to effectively improve their lives. I love mentoring the youth because their mind easily absorbs and retains knowledge. I love meeting them where they are…at their level. Cotten’s platforms are wealth building and self-awareness. She feels every age group and gender is worthy and privy.”
Said Retired Air Force veteran Dr. Radiance Rose of Cotten’s forthcoming national honor via Facebook on Wednesday:
“Judith Cotten is among the esteemed trailblazers who will be recognized for her dedication and outstanding commitment to volunteerism and service, which has made a positive impact on the communities she serves.”
A self-proclaimed “extrovert from childhood to adulthood,” Cotten doesn’t shy away from the notion that her community service is centered in large part on her fervent desire for exemplifying a servant’s heart.
“I love helping,” Cotten says without hesitation. “It’s rewarding when you help families grow and prosper. It’s satisfying when you assist people with protecting their loved ones by getting insured. Who likes GoFundMe? Not me. Insurance is not just about burial coverage, but about building wealth and leaving a legacy. Community service is a selfless and generous act of kindness for the benefit and betterment of others. I love to give of my time, money, and resources.”

When asked why it is imperative to esteem and inspire others daily, Cotten — who credits her parents, Lester and Lillian Cotten, for her sustained success — said:
“We don’t live in this world alone, so it’s imperative that we reach back and lift up. I love seeing others thrive. I know when I help others, God is going to reward me abundantly. It’s not about man’s favor, but God’s favor.”
So just do it.
