I have seen something else under the sun: The race is not to the swift or the battle to the strong, nor does food come to the wise or wealth to the brilliant or favor to the learned. But time and chance happen to them all. (Ecclesiastes 9:11/NIV)
SHE CAN, SHE DID
Re-Chandra Chism fielded the question as if she expected it.
“I began writing this book in July 2023, recalls Chism, “right after my pastor (Ricky D. Floyd of Pursuit of God Transformation Center) asked me, ‘What are six key facts that made you successful?’”
The book which the rising Mid-South author is alluding is I Am Your Can Opened, her highly-anticipated book that kicked off her ceremonious authorship coming-out-party.
“While packing for a trip to Hawaii, I was reflecting on my answer,” Chism, the founder and CEO of Kingdom Hearts Enrichment Center Day Care Center, told Making Headline News during a recent interview. “Then my pastor told me, ‘When you come back, you’re going to be a speaker at the Get Your Life Back Conference.’ That set things in motion. After returning, I spoke to high school students at Booker T. Washington High School in Memphis, True Vine Church Memphis Youth, Kingdom Seekers International Ministry young girls, and taught a 16-week business and finance class at Pursuit of God Transformation Center. I added to the book as I went along, and finally finished it near my birthday, July 29, 2024.”
And the rest, as they say, was history.

A spiritually-empowering, riveting written work she needed somewhere in the neighborhood of approximately 13 months to produce, Chism’s I Am Your Can Opened, by all accounts, is a transformative guide that teaches readers how to manifest their heart’s deepest desires by aligning their thoughts, emotions, and words to be successful in business and life, according to a detailed synopsis of this author’s book via Bokus.com.
“The author introduces herself as a ‘CAN OPENED,’ an acronym reflecting qualities of optimism, persistence, patience, a commitment to excellence, evolution, and delegation,” said a Bokus spokesperson for Chism’s new book. “She positions herself as a catalyst to unlock the potential within readers, challenging the naysayers in their lives and instilling the belief that all things are possible with the right mindset.
“I Am Your Can Opened is not just a motivational book but a practical roadmap to achieving a balanced and fulfilling life by harnessing the power of aligned thoughts, emotions, and expressions.”

A book that is comprised of 80 pages, Chism was rather forthright regarding the divine message she’s sending to her readers.
“The divine message I’m sending through this book is simple: If you have a dream, goal, or desire, and you approach it with discipline, commitment, and consistency in your time, talent, and money, it will come to fruition,” Chism, a Memphis-area author who resides in nearby Eads, Tennessee, told MHN. “God is ready to give you the desires of your heart, but the question is, ‘Are you ready to receive them?’ It’s all about alignment when your mind, heart, and words are in sync, that’s when doors begin to open.”
FAMILY FOCUS
Since the ceremonious debut of Chism’s new book, she has become the beneficiary of an assortment of rave reviews.
“The feedback I’ve received so far has been really encouraging,” Chism, the CEO and Executive Director of The Learning Journey Academy, said. “After speaking at various events and (conducting) interviews, people have been asking about the book, showing a lot of interest in it. I’m also excited to share that I’m creating a journal to go along with the book, which will offer a more interactive experience for readers to reflect and apply the principles in their own lives.
“One of my core purposes in life is to coach and mentor others, and this book aligns perfectly with that mission. It’s designed to be an easy-read, full of mentoring and encouragement,” Chism continued. “Through it, I aim to inspire and guide people on their journey, helping them realize that they can achieve their goals with the right mindset and perseverance.”
SET ASIDE FOR GOD’S USE
Other books, Chism said, are forthcoming, although a timetable for release dates has yet to be announced.
“This is my first book, but I plan on completing my children’s book collection soon,” Chism said. “I’m excited to dive into that project next and continue expanding my work in different genres.”
