Just recently, Tameria J. Bowling hastened to social media, where she wasted little time disclosing with the masses what could be appropriately described as some long-awaited good fortune.

Given the constant outpour of public support now that news has surfaced of Bowling having emerged as a first-time published author, it’s safe to assume Driven By Success: Torn By Lust figures to evolve as a massive must-read for years to come.
Generally, Bowling’s Driven By Success: Torn By Lust is inspired by “a blend of personal experiences and real-life stories from women who have shared their journeys with me,” the Mid-South author who resides in Memphis told Making Headline News this week.

“By weaving these narratives into the fabric of the book,” Bowling acknowledged, “I aim to create a tapestry that reflects both struggles and triumphs. This approach not only highlights the diversity of experiences within the African-American community but also fosters a sense of solidarity.”
In essence, Driven By Success: Torn By Lust delves into what Bowling deems the complexities of ambition and desire, particularly as experienced by single African-American women.
“It examines how societal expectations often pressure individuals to achieve professional success while simultaneously navigating personal relationships that can be fraught with challenges,” Bowling told MHN. “The juxtaposition of these two worlds creates a rich narrative that many readers can relate to.”
To her credit, Bowling made good use of the dreaded shelter-in-place that arose amid the coronavirus pandemic. It was during that time she had become greatly inspired to compose what is shaping up to be a highly-anticipated book.
“The writing journey began as a form of therapy during the isolating months of COVID-19,” Bowling said. “I found solace in writing, allowing me to process my thoughts and feelings. The quiet moments of reflection provided the clarity needed to articulate the struggles faced by many. The process involved extensive research, interviews, and personal reflection to ensure that the stories presented were authentic and impactful.”

Now that she’s on the brink of making her authorship debut, Bowling said her new book has subsequently given way to other concepts, many of which she plans to execute sooner rather than later.
“I envision creating a series of workshops or webinars where I can interact directly with readers,” Bowling said. “These sessions could include discussions on themes from the book, sharing personal growth strategies, and creating a supportive community for women facing similar challenges.”
Other written works, Bowling said, are on the horizon.
“In addition to potential sequels or companion pieces to Driven By Success: Torn By Lust, I am considering writing a self-help guide that provides actionable steps for women seeking to balance their ambitions with their personal lives,” Bowling said. “This guide would focus on practical strategies for emotional well-being, relationship management, and personal development.”
Moreover, Bowling said plans are in the works during which she will leverage social media platforms to foster a community where readers can share their experiences and insights.
“This could include regular live discussions, Q&A sessions, and collaborative projects that encourage empowerment and self-expression,” she said. “Through my writing and speaking engagements, I aim to advocate for the importance of mental health awareness, especially within marginalized communities. I believe that sharing our stories can lead to healing and greater understanding among individuals facing similar struggles.”

Interestingly enough, Bowling said her published masterpiece isn’t just a book.
“It is a movement toward greater awareness and empowerment for African-American women,” Bowling told MHN. “Each story told and each lesson learned brings us closer to understanding the intricate dance between ambition and personal fulfillment. I am excited to see where this journey will lead and how it will resonate with others as we continue to share and uplift one another.”
A native of Whiteville, Tennessee, Bowling holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Tennessee State University, a Master of Science in Psychology from the University of Phoenix, and Master of Science in Human Resources/Organizational Development from Strayer University.
Currently, she is preparing to take the Law School Admission Test (LSAT) to ultimately acquire a Juris Doctor.
A devoted member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, Bowling is widely regarded as a devout woman of faith and beloved single mother.
“I attribute my success to God, the memory of my late grandmother, Christine G. Beard, my mother, Mary N. Bowling, and my son, Jordan C. Bowling, my sister, and friends,” Bowling told MHN.
