SUCCESSFUL REGARDLESS

To her distinctly unique credit, Christal Newkirk is celebrating 25 years as a thriving, flourishing entrepreneur.
For what it’s worth, she hasn’t shown any signs of slowing down — not when there are so many lives she’s been afforded the luxury to impact.
Never mind her progressive business endeavor recently endured arguably its grandest obstacle to date.
“As a small woman-owned business, AboveHR Solutions, LLC was directly affected at the end of January by recent executive orders aimed at dismantling DEI initiatives and eliminating minority-focused grants,” Newkirk told Making Headline News during a recent interview. “As I celebrate 25 years as a small woman business owner, I am more intentional than ever about helping fellow entrepreneurs understand and embrace The Power of the PIVOT. My mission is to equip small business owners with the tools and strategies they need to adapt, grow, and win in an ever-changing marketplace.

All things considered, Newkirk’s immeasurable entrepreneurial presence is routinely felt by way of AboveHR Solutions, her Lawrenceville, Georgia-based featured business endeavor that is widely regarded as a nationwide HR consulting and recruitment firm.
Generally, AboveHR Solutions has become a fixture for customarily specializing in executive, technical, and construction staffing, as well as training design and delivery and executive coaching for major organizations.
As part of Making Headline News’ national media coverage ahead of Bishop T. D. Jakes’ 2025 International Leadership Summit April 10-12 from Orlando, Florida, Newkirk spoke at length about she relishes the notion that her company has emerged as a rising certified Small Business Enterprise (SBE), Minority Business Enterprise (MBE), and Woman-Owned Business Enterprise (WBE).
“These certifications serve as valuable assets, providing a competitive edge and special consideration when bidding on contracts with local government agencies,” Newkirk, who also resides in Fort Mill, South Carolina, told MHN.

Interestingly enough, Newkirk, emphasized, among other things, her entrepreneurial competitive drive — coupled with “strong faith” — were instilled in her long before she became the esteemed businesswoman for whom she is widely known.
“As the oldest daughter in a family of seven children, raised by a single parent, I quickly learned the values of resilience, determination, and faith,” Newkirk said. “My mother recognized my potential early and entrusted me with my first leadership role, shaping the foundation for the leader I am today. “My personal mission revolves around empowering women, small business owners, and communities by providing education, resources, and opportunities to help them thrive.”
Not only that, Newkirk acknowledges she has grasped a keen passion for creating multiple streams of income, fostering entrepreneurial success, and making a meaningful impact through her rising businesses and initiatives.
“My mission is deeply rooted in faith, leadership, and service, guiding others to achieve financial independence, business growth, and personal well-being,” Newkirk, a native of Raleigh, North Carolina, said. “I also strive to build inclusive opportunities while adapting to changes in the business landscape.”
Much to her delight, Newkirk is forever grateful for the influential impact of her twin brother, Chris, whom she said has played a pivotal role in empowering her to delve into the ever-evolving world of entrepreneurship some 25 years ago.
“Just three months after his support, I secured my first six-figure corporate contract, marking a significant milestone in my entrepreneurial journey,” Newkirk recalls. “As a passionate advocate for small business success, Christal equips women entrepreneurs with the tools, education, and strategies needed to pivot, grow, and thrive in today’s competitive market.”
THE FIGHT WAS FIXED

Amid the recent DEI initiatives, Newkirk was destined not to take defeating lying down.
“In response, I took time to reflect, pray, and develop her 2025 Pivot Plan,” Newkirk told MHN. “My key business strategies focused on diversifying income streams into a high-demand, rapidly growing industry while creating a greater impact in the lives of her family, friends, and community.
“With that vision in mind, we are thrilled to announce that my family, along with close high school friends and their global business partners, officially launched a new health and proactive wellness e-commerce franchise in February 2025.
“Over the last 24 months, this company has exceeded 150 million in revenue and is expected to double over the next year,” Newkirk continued. “Growth projections are expected to reach one billion over the next five years. We are excited for this new chapter and the opportunities ahead.”
Newkirk said the 2025 Pivot Plan virtual launch event will be held on March 11, 18, and 25.
