GRACING THE NATIONAL STAGE

What a marvelous past year it was for the beloved Dr. Rhonda M. Wood.
No one, it seems, can sum up how 2024 unfolded the way she can.
“The year, 2024, has been nothing short of an extraordinary year of elevation, transformation, and undeniable impact,” Dr. Woods said during Saturday’s International Women’s Day 2025 celebration. “It’s been a testimony to the power of faith, resilience, and the power of using one’s platform to effect real change. From speaking and emceeing events in London, Atlanta, New York, Las Vegas, Washington, DC, Baltimore, and Detroit to gracing the cover of Victorious by Design magazine, to appearing on major media platforms, to launching multiple Amazon No. 1 bestselling books, every milestone has been deeply meaningful.”
That’s not all Dr. Wood managed to accomplish this past year.
SALUTE TO WOMEN’S HISTORY MONTH 2025
“Hosting global summits, reporting live from Super Bowl Media Week, and advocating for mental health legislation have solidified my commitment to breaking barriers and amplifying voices that need to be heard,” she recalls. “Receiving my second Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award was an incredible honor. Still, beyond the accolades, this year has been about global impact — changing lives, shifting narratives, and ensuring mental health remains at the forefront of critical conversations.
Because of her immeasurable influential impact as an accomplished businesswoman and philanthropist, Dr. Wood has been named Making Headline News Woman of The Year for 2024, as announced this past October by the Dallas/Fort Worth-based media outlet, joining fellow businesswomen Dr. Marcea B. Whitaker and Dr. Erica Perry Green, as recipients for MHN’s most covenant annual honor.

“Being named Making Headline News Woman of the Year for 2024 is a full-circle moment, confirming that when I walk boldly in my purpose, the world takes notice. And trust me, this is just the beginning.”
Now with yet another notable achievement in her possession, Dr. Wood is destined to tackle 2025 head-on.
Amongst her notable objectives this year include, but aren’t limited to:
- Expanding Global Reach & Influence, thus delivering a keynote address in Bonn, Germany in May and being nominated for international mental health awards at the Fluxx Awards in Hong Kong in June. “This will position me to extend my advocacy on a global scale,” Dr. Wood said.
- Advancing The Dr. Rhonda Show. “Elevating my platform to a major network or prime-time slot will allow me to bring critical conversations on mental health, empowerment, and leadership to an even broader audience,” Dr. Wood said.
- Hosting International Mental Health Conferences. “Creating platforms for dialogue, education, and action in the mental health space will further cement my role as a thought leader,” Dr. Wood said.
- Publish a solo bestselling book. “After co-authoring multiple bestsellers, I am ready to publish a solo work that captures my expertise in leadership, mental health, and faith-based empowerment,” Dr. Wood said.
- Launching a nonprofit initiative. “Establishing a foundation focused on mental health awareness, mentorship, and leadership development will leave a lasting legacy of impact,” Dr. Wood said.
A well-respected Washington, DC mental health advocate in her own right, Dr. Wood becomes only the fourth woman since MHN’s December 2016 inception to be named both Woman of The Year and MHN International Women’s Day Woman of The Year (announced annually in March), joining Virginia Beach, Virginia-based certified Grief Recovery Method Specialist Deborah Juniper-Frye, Mitchellville, Maryland-based businesswoman Dr. Jennifer Bryant, and Dr. Whitaker to accomplish such feats.
A recipient for President Joseph R. Biden 2022 Lifetime Achievement Award, Dr. Wood subsequently was named Making Headline News’ International Women’s Day Woman of the Year for 2023.
To her credit, Dr. Wood has garnered high praise for her well-publicized global contributions in a professional tenure that spans some 30-plus years, particularly as an esteemed empowerment extraordinaire.
SUPER BOWL OF PHILANTHROPISTS

Recognized as a well-known fixture in her community, Dr. Wood has been afforded the golden opportunity to work alongside decision-makers on improving the mental health system.
