I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful. I know that full well. (Psalm 139:14/NIV)
AND IT CAME TO PASS

Whether we are going up or down, God cares for us so much that He’d go as far as to strategically meet us on an elevator.
Just ask Te’neNi Nhia Mason whom, much to her delight, can greatly attest to her personal encounter with her Creator while taking the elevator some time ago.
“I met God in the elevator,” Mason, a faith-based business-turned-author, told Making Headline News this week as part of its advance national coverage ahead of Sarah Jakes Roberts’ Third Annual Woman Evolve Conference July 31 through August 2 from Atlanta, Georgia. “He used a lady as a vessel. He spoke to her through her to deliver my message to me. I was instructed to tell my story and write my book in 2015.”
And the rest, as they say, was history.

By June 2023, illusion: What do you see when you see me?! had become a much-anticipated reality, Mason’s featured written work that, to her credit, has created a fervent buzz across various message boards and social media platforms.
“I knew I had to be obedient,” Mason, a Scottsdale, Arizona-based writer, told MHN. “After being instructed by God to tell my story and write my book, it was seven years later when God told me to begin. I finished writing my book less than one year.”
And what a remarkably compelling published masterpiece it has become.
A riveting, spiritually-empowering book that is accompanied by 364 pages, Mason’s illusion: What do you see when you see me?! is a life-altering memoir, one that she birthed into the world, chronicling her life from the moment she met God in an elevator to the present day, according to a detailed synopsis of this native Detroiter’s book via Amazon.com.

“In this book, I delve into my memories of actual events that have shaped my life and that of my identical twin,” Mason says via Amazon.com. “Mother was caught up in drug abuse while my identical twin sister and I were still in her womb, subjecting us to a life of abuse from the very beginning. But despite the challenges we faced, we persevered.
“Our daddy, whom our friends fondly called Mr. Mom, did everything in his power to care for us,” Mason continues. “We have a baby sister whom mother never laid a hand on, but the same couldn’t be said for us. While reading this book, you will laugh, you will cry and go through a lot of emotions. As a high school senior mom, I had my baby girl on my left hip and a pen in my right hand and graduated on time. To think that we ran away from home turning 16 to achieve all of this is a testimony that it can be done.”
Interestingly enough, Mason also chronicles how she and her husband and had subsequently started a construction and roofing company, as well as a moving business endeavor.
“illusion what do you see when you see me?! is a testament to the fact that it can be done,” Mason writes via Amazon.com. “So, what do you see when you see me? Prepare to go on a rollercoaster ride of emotions as you join me on my journey from where I started to where I am today. As an author and a successful business owner, I am proof that anything is possible with God, hard work and determination.”
BUT WAIT…THERE’S MORE
When asked what divine message she’s aiming to send to her reading audience through her featured book, Mason said:
“My identical twin sister and I are living examples of when you set your mind to do something with God, determination, and extremely hard work, it can and will be done. God gives us free will.”
Besides illusion: What do you see when you see me?!, Mason has composed a gallery of books, most notably Daily Affirmations From The Lord’s Prayer Meditation Devotional 365 Days Prayer Book, which debuted in November 2022, and Saying No 2 Drugs Is Cool Workbook, which was released in March 2025.
Additional books, Mason said, are on the horizon.
“We’re patiently and anxiously waiting for God to instruct my twin and I to publish illusion: What Do You See When You See Me?! Sequel Two,” Mason told MHN. “That has been written already.”

For what it’s worth, Mason doesn’t shy away from the notion that her featured written work aligns with the divine purpose for which God has created her.
“We are comforter’s,” Mason said. “God created my identical twin and I to offer help, encourage, and strength. As story keepers and storytellers, we were designed to help, support, guide, and encourage people how to build multigenerational wealth, legacy, and financial freedom through telling their God-given empowering stories to the world and become an author and/or co-author.
“As a messenger of hope, our words aim to inspire, heal, instill and uplift readers, reflecting God’s love and redemption. As collaborators, we’re purposed to work alongside leaders, visionaries and brainstorming, and like-minded minds to spread messages of faith, hope, compassion, joy, love and healing.
“Always remember: our stories are not for us,” Mason said. “They are to be told to help our brothers and sisters in the world in many ways.”
Even if means empowering them on an elevator.
