IN HER DIVINE ELEMENT

For Kristina Eaton, it’s safe to assume it was an unlikely detour, of sorts, one that altered the overall landscape of her life.
“Honestly, it was the toxic leaders I worked alongside while in uniform,” Eaton, a retired U.S. Army veteran told Making Headline News this week as part of its Salute To Women’s History Month 2026 celebration, recalling the rash of developments that fueled her fervent desire to delve into the ever-evolving world of entrepreneurship. “I knew I wasn’t like them, and I knew I wanted to make a difference. They showed me what negative influence looked like — and I was determined to be the opposite of that for others.”
It was due in large part of the slew of obstacles Eaton encountered during her stint in the military that, much to her delight, had given way to her establishing Brave Bloom, a rising Mobile, Alabama-based trauma-informed organizational stabilization consultancy helping high-pressure organizations reduce burnout, rebuild trust, and strengthen leadership resilience through structured systems and her company’s RESTORE™ Framework.
Generally, through structured frameworks and physiologically grounded resilience strategies, Brave Bloom partners with organizations to stabilize leadership environments and support the professionals responsible for carrying out critical missions.

Moreover, Brave Bloom operates at what Eaton describes as the intersection of leadership systems and human physiology.
Such systems are grounded in the following:
- Trauma-informed organizational strategy
- Nervous system–informed leadership education
- Clear accountability design
- Sustainable performance structures
“We design environments where leaders can regulate, communicate clearly, and guide teams with steadiness under pressure,” Eaton told MHN.

A native of St. Louis, Eaton is a graduate of the Gateway Institute of Technology for high school, where she majored in Radiology. Consequently, she earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English Literature — with a minor in Psychology — from Bennett College. In addition, she acquired an Executive MBA from the Quantic School of Business and Technology.
Having witnessed Brave Bloom officially go into operations in May 2025, Eaton is armed with more than two decades of professional experience in coaching, counseling, and empowering soldiers throughout her notable military career.
“The transition into the organizational space is a natural progression for me,” Eaton said. “Whether we embrace it or not, we are all leaders in our own right in some capacity.”
As for her strategic mission for functioning in her chosen profession, Eaton admittedly find pleasure in customarily helping organizational teams and leaders better understand themselves so they can subsequently be better leaders in life — “not just in the workplace,” she emphasized.
“There are so many high-pressure environments that have become toxic due to the stress involved, and limited trauma-informed experts equipped to help make organizational teams stronger beyond simply creating better systems,” continued Eaton, recalling what fueled her drive to delve into her chosen line of work. “People need support — not better systems. They also need to better understand how their responses to stress affect the whole body. Most don’t know how to navigate that, and most don’t have access to someone with my lived experience in a high-pressure military career who knows how to execute the process.”

More than anything, it seems, Eaton doesn’t shy away from the notion that regardless of one’s profession and/or strategic line of work, we are called to serve, especially in the ever-evolving world of leadership.
“(We must understand) that service looks different for everyone,” Eaton said. “However, our lives are meant for purpose, and it is critical that we understand and carry out the assignment we are each called to. I was to be a living example of that and leave a lasting legacy.
“Trauma-informed leadership and resilience are often overlooked and ignored. Let’s change that — starting with your team.”
