ESSENCE MUSIC FESTIVAL 2026 ADVANCE NATIONAL COVERAGE: Texas community celebrates Andrew Landry’s brand relaunch, ribbon-cutting ceremony

Andre Johnson June 19, 2026

SEASON OF NEW BEGINNINGS

DREW FOR THE WIN!!!!! Faith-leader-turned-entrepreneur Andrew Landry — pictured with customer Jeanette Davis — is the face of Dreaux’s Creole and Cajun Seafood, his popular Humble, Texas-based restaurant that has become a fixture for offering consumers a variety of delectable and distinct creole and seafood dishes.

As far as Andrew Landry is concerned, he’s always been equipped with what he appropriately describes as a competitive edge.

“I’ve always had that desire to be a top performer in sports,” Landry told Making Headline News as part of its 2026 Essence Music Festival advance national coverage for “the party with a purpose” event July 3-5 in New Orleans. “That gave me the drive to strive for success.”

Indeed, it has for Landry, a flourishing faith-leader-turned-entrepreneur who is the face of Dreaux’s Creole and Cajun Seafood, his popular Humble, Texas-based restaurant that has become a fixture for offering consumers a variety of delectable and distinct creole and seafood dishes.

VISION FOCUSED — Named Making Headline News 2019 Man of The Year, Landry delved into restaurant ownership some five years ago with the solid backing of Ticara “Chef Cali” King, his head chef with whom he routinely collaborated to bring his long-awaited establishment to fruition.

Formerly known as LanDreaux’s Creole & Cajun Seafood, Landry hosted a community-wide brand relaunch ribbon-cutting ceremony Friday morning at 8009 FM 1960 Road East.

“Relaunch was a huge success! Congratulations! Great food…y’all check him out,” Jeanette Davis, one of dozens of attendees on hand for Friday’s ceremony, said via a Facebook post.

BETTA CHECK ‘EM OUT — Since its 2021 inception, Landry’s restaurant has emerged as arguably one of the finest of its kind, thanks in large part to its assortment of scrumptious creole and Cajun seafood entrees and fixings, many of which have inspired residents in Humble and the surrounding areas to become regular customers of an establishment that figures to be around for quite some time.

A native of nearby Raywood, Landry, 55, relishes the outpour of valiant support he and his staff have fielded from the general public, particularly when it seemed his dream eatery was at a crossroads, of sorts.

“The community has been very supportive through the name change and rebranding, stemming from the original name Landry’s Creole and Cajun Seafood, where the Landry’s corporation filed lawsuit claiming trademark infringement,” the longtime Texas businessman told MHN. “(We’re committed to) serving the people I love, respect, and admire with a great products and service.”

Named Making Headline News 2019 Man of The Year, Landry delved into restaurant ownership some five years ago with the solid backing of Ticara “Chef Cali” King, his head chef with whom he routinely collaborated to bring his long-awaited establishment to fruition.

And the rest, as they say, was history.

The restaurant has since emerged as arguably one of the finest of its kind, thanks in large part to its assortment of scrumptious creole and Cajun seafood entrees and fixings, many of which have inspired residents in Humble and the surrounding areas to become regular customers of an establishment that figures to be around for quite some time.

How else to explain Friday’s massive celebratory turnout during Dreaux’s Creole and Cajun Seafood’s highly-anticipated brand/relaunch ribbon-cutting ceremony?

“My personal mission for (overseeing the day-to-day operations of this restaurant is) enhancing the lives that come through the doors through food, fun, and fellowship,” Landry said. “Food brings people together, sometimes for physical but many times for emotional and mental healing.”

AND IT CAME TO PASS

PEAK PERFORMER — “I’ve always had that desire to be a top performer in sports,” Landry told Making Headline News as part of its 2026 Essence Music Festival advance national coverage for “the party with a purpose” event July 3-5 in New Orleans. “That gave me the drive to strive for success.”
