For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee. (Proverbs 23:7/KJV)
LEGACY BUILDER

As if Christopher J. Mercer’s Family First Initiative nonprofit organization isn’t enough to greatly help enrich and enhance the lives of people from various walks of life, the rising New Haven, Connecticut-based philanthropist has spearheaded a newly-erected podcast that has emerged as one of the finest of its kind.
As part of MHN’s advance national coverage ahead of Bishop T. D. Jakes’ Good Soil Forum in Dallas October 8-10, featuring special guest, Tyler Perry, Mercer announced the startup of what is suitably known as the Legacy Impact podcast, his rising empowerment platform that has become a fixture for healthy, in-depth conversations, most notably by way of exploring leadership, entrepreneurship, family, purpose, financial literacy, and the everyday decisions that “shape the legacies we build while we’re still here,” he emphasized.
Mercer’s podcast episodes are available via YouTube, Spotify, and Apple Podcasts, with his Family First Initiative website and additional platforms coming soon, he announced.

“Every episode is designed to challenge the way people think about success, service, and what it truly means to leave an impact,” Mercer, 41, told MHN. “My goal isn’t to provide all the answers. It’s to help people ask better questions because better questions lead to greater understanding. Greater understanding leads to intentional decisions. Intentional decisions shape the legacy we build every day.”
Not only that, Mercer’s Legacy Impact podcast customarily enlightens its audience on how each conversation is part of what he deems a “larger story,” a trend that subsequently educates listeners on what it means to live intentionally, thus build a legacy that strengthens future generations.
“I believe the quality of our lives is often shaped by the quality of the questions we ask,” Mercer said.

For what it’s worth, Mercer’s rise to emerge as a neophyte podcaster comes amid humble beginnings, something he doesn’t merely take for granted.
“My journey has never been about competing with other people,” Mercer said. “It’s been about becoming a better version of myself than I was yesterday. Throughout my life, I’ve been fortunate to have conversations that challenged the way I think about leadership, family, finances, service, and purpose. Those conversations changed the trajectory of my life.”
Interestingly enough, Mercer acknowledged that over time, he had come to a realization that there were “countless people” he sensed deserved access to such competent, practical conversations by way of his podcast.
“Legacy Impact became the place to have them,” Mercer said. “Rather than keeping those moments inside a room or at a single event, I wanted to create a platform where those conversations could continue reaching people wherever they are.”
When asked what he likes the most about his podcast, Mercer said:
“I enjoy creating conversations that help people see familiar ideas through a different lens. Every guest brings a unique perspective, and every conversation has the potential to influence how someone approaches leadership, family, entrepreneurship, service, or legacy. If someone finishes an episode asking a better question than they had before they pressed play, we’ve accomplished exactly what we set out to do.”
Much to his delight, Mercer’s Legacy Impact has been overwhelmingly embraced by a throng of solid supporters throughout New Haven and surrounding areas.
“The response has been encouraging because people are looking for conversations with substance,” Mercer said. “Listeners appreciate hearing authentic stories from people who are intentionally building something meaningful, whether that’s a business, a nonprofit, a family, or a movement.
DESTINY STEPS

“Many have shared that the conversations have challenged the way they think about leadership, purpose, and the legacy they’re building every day.”
Mission accomplished.
