BISHOP T. D. JAKES’ 2026 GOOD SOIL FORUM ADVANCE NATIONAL COVERAGE: Huntsville, Alabama author Leonard L Adams Jr.’s newly-released book is thought-provoking read for the ages

Andre Johnson August 20, 2026

Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. (James 1:4-6/NIV)

JOURNEY WORTH TAKING

AND IT CAME TO PASS — Huntsville, Alabama author Leonard L Adams Jr. is the architect of Things I Wish My Father Had Told Me: Guidance For Life’s Uncharted Journeys, which debuted in August 2026.

Leonard L Adams Jr. wasn’t merely trying to be deep.

If nothing else, he was only — in slang terms — trying to keep it 100.

During an exclusive interview this week with Making Headline News as part of its advance national coverage ahead of Bishop T. D. Jakes’ 2026 Good Soil Forum in Dallas October 8-10, featuring special guest, Tyler Perry, Adams, Jr., a Huntsville, Alabama-based author, was rather forthright when asked what divine message he aims to send to his readers by way of his latest book, Things I Wish My Father Had Told Me: Guidance For Life’s Uncharted Journeys.

BUY ADAMS, JR.’s BOOK: https://www.relearninglove.com./
MASSIVE MUST-READ — An intriguing published gem that is accompanied by 215 pages, Adams, Jr.’s Things I Wish My Father Had Told Me: Guidance For Life’s Uncharted Journeys, by all accounts, is a heartfelt collection of motivational sayings crafted to awaken courage, joy, and inner liberation by this faith-based writer, a former U.S. Army counselor whose life has been shaped by overcoming severe childhood trauma and abuse, according to an in-depth breakdown of his book via Amazon.com.

“I’m actually sending two (messages),” Adams, Jr. explained. “First, it is impossible to believe God forgives you if you don’t forgive yourself. When we ask for forgiveness, we’re told God grants it — as long as we forgive others — but so often, we continue to feel guilty for the things we believe we’re forgiven for. That’s like telling God, ‘I know You forgive me, but I don’t forgive myself, because I don’t deserve forgiveness, so I believe I know better than You, God, what I should and shouldn’t be forgiven for.’

“The second message is in the two great commandments: Love the Lord Your God with all your heart, mind, and soul, and love your neighbor as yourself,” continued Adams, Jr., referring to the familiar passages of Matthew 22:36-40. “I believe we get the order backwards. For instance, in order to love God, you must love your brother first, for 1 John 4:20 says, ‘If anyone says, ‘I love God, but hates his brother, he is a liar. For anyone who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, Whom he has not seen.’ So one must love one’s brother before they can love God. And one must love oneself before he can love his brother. I cannot love my neighbor As myself if I don’t first love myself.”

Some pretty riveting, fascinating spiritual food for thought by Adams, Jr. an esteemed transformational coach whose latest book is as good as advertised.

“It has been revised from its original version to include an introduction describing examples of childhood abuse and trauma he knew he had to overcome before he could live a happy, loving, forgiving, and peace-filled life, as well as refined and updated chapter contents,” said an Amazon spokesperson for Adams, Jr.’s featured written work.

FOR STARTERS

FIRST UP — Adams, Jr.’s Things I Wish My Father Had Told Me comes two years after he made his authorship debut with the release of Prepare To Love: 100 Questions and Answers.

Moreover, such a book is what this author describes as a collation of honest, hard‑but‑needed advisories delivered with “tender tenacity.”

In a nutshell, Adams’ Things I Wish My Father Had Told Me offers practical, compassionate guidance on the following:

  • Forgiveness: not as condoning harm, but as freeing yourself from its grip.
  • Self‑love and self‑worth: learning to value yourself without waiting for others to affirm it.
  • Overcoming abandonment, sorrow, rage, and loss: finding hope even in the darkest times.
  • Breaking cycles of self‑isolation: recognizing that you are not alone and that healing is possible and,
  • Living with dignity: setting boundaries, rejecting false standards, and creating your own “oxygen” in life.

“The work is structured as random snapshots of wisdom, making it accessible and easy to read,” said an Amazon spokesperson, assessing the book’s style and approach. “Adams speaks directly from his own life, drawing on real events to illustrate his points. His tone is both practical and poetic, blending professional counseling insight with personal vulnerability.”

Additional books, he said, are forthcoming.

“I’m actually beginning a 12-part series now titled, Breaking The Beliefs That Break You,” Adams, Jr. told MHN. “And each book will tackle a different irrational belief.”

For his valiant efforts by way of his pair of books, Adams has become the beneficiary of an array of rave reviews.

ABOUT HIS FATHER’S BUSINESS

GRACING THE NATIONAL STAGE — During an exclusive interview this week with Making Headline News as part of its advance national coverage ahead of Bishop T. D. Jakes’ 2026 Good Soil Forum in Dallas October 8-10, featuring special guest, Tyler Perry, Adams, Jr. was rather forthright when asked what divine message he aims to send to his readers by way of his latest book, Things I Wish My Father Had Told Me: Guidance For Life’s Uncharted Journeys.

“Readers have praised it for its powerful, tear-inducing wisdom and its ability to inspire action, to bring the love, and make the world a better place,” Adams, Jr. said. “Regarding Prepare To Love: 100 Questions and Answers, reviewers highlight that I compile 100 real-life questions from people struggling with self-worth, codependency, and forgiveness, and offer clear, counselor-informed answers.

“Many readers appreciate how the questions are well-chosen and relatable, touching on issues like, ‘Should I tell of my previous relationships?’ or ‘Will I ever get over being cast aside?’ Readers report that the book evokes pity, wonder, and concern. Many note that my explanation of the Serenity Prayer is one of the most moving parts of the book.”

Besides, he wasn’t merely trying to be deep, mind you.

If nothing else, he was only — in slang terms — trying to keep it 100.
