In assessing why they deemed it essential to spearhead such an awe-inspiring book for singles, married, and aspiring married couples, two words immediately came to mind, the Beavers acknowledged.
“Discipleship and legacy,” Renèe M Beavers told MHN.
Amongst the obvious reasons is that amid more than 20 years of serving singles and couples, the Beavers alluded to the notion that they recognized the “tremendous amount of wisdom” that customarily exists within healthy, seasoned marriages.
“And we believe that wisdom needs to be preserved and passed forward,” Gil Beavers said. “That’s why Our Marital Code To Oneness became bigger than Gil & Renée. “We brought together 21 couples from across the United States to share principles, experiences, and wisdom developed through their marriages. Gil and I have officially reached the Quarterfinals of America’s Favorite Couple, and for me, this experience has become about much more than a competition.
America’s Favorite Couple is a national fundraising competition supporting Oceana and the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank.
Through this journey, couples have the opportunity to compete for the title while helping raise awareness and funds for organizations addressing ocean conservation and hunger.
When the Quarterfinals began and the rankings reset, Gil and I found ourselves in ninth place. I will admit, seeing No. 9 was difficult. But something remarkable happened: our community showed up. Through your prayers, daily votes, shares, and generous support, we climbed from No. 9 back to No. 2. Now, we need your help to reach No. 1. After 37 years of marriage and more than 20 years of helping singles and couples build, repair, and restore healthy, Christ-centered relationships, this experience has reminded me of the tremendous value of community.
I am learning that there is power in making our needs known—first to God in prayer and then to the people He has placed around us. People often want to help; sometimes they simply need to know that help is needed. Community is not only about who celebrates when you win. It is about the people who pray, show up, give, share, encourage, and help carry the vision along the way. Gil and I are currently #2.
