And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. (Habakkuk 2:2 KJV)
THE GREAT EXCHANGE
Yvette D. McGill did just what she was supposed to do with the vision once God strategically introduced her to it.
She ran with it.
To her credit, she didn’t just run with it.
Rather, she picked it back up and diligently put it on display until her God-mandated vision had come full circle, courtesy of an awe-inspiring book entitled, “theEXCHANGE,” her featured written work that is approximately three months removed from its much-anticipated release.
“God gave me the vision to write the book on March 22, 2016,” McGill, a La Marque, Texas native, told Making Headline News this week. “I was sitting in a workshop with two famous authors, learning how to write a book and literally the room went black as if it was just me and God in the room.”

From a spiritual perspective, it essentially was a room that included McGill and her Creator.
How else to explain why her life-changing vision as an author has come to fruition?
“It was then He said, ‘You will write a book. You will name it #theEXCHANGE,’” McGill recalled.
In playing off of words, there is a valid reason behind such an intriguing, spiritually-gut checking exchange that surfaced between God and McGill, this author explained.
“(He said), ‘The reason why (I assigned you to write this book) is because when you were 25 years old, I told you to give your mom forgiveness for the difficult childhood you had. (He said to me), ‘When your daughter was 25, you had to ask her for forgiveness for lying to her about who her dad really was,’” McGill recalled. “He went on to say, ‘If you had not given her forgiveness when I told you, I would not have been able to allow your daughter to forgive you now.’”
As McGill explained, it was just the encounter she needed to witness in order to appropriately carry out her God-mandated vision as a new author.
A book she finished composing in January of this year — “I finished in January 2019, but had hoped to release it on Jan 2, 2019, my 51st birthday,” she said — McGill’s #theEXCHANGE was officially released two months later.
Much to her delight, it has been short of impressive ever since.
“The single most underlying reason I wrote this book is so that absolutely nobody else would be able to tell my truth,” McGill said a project she needed approximately two months to assemble. “I wanted it in writing why I did what I did.”
There are, in fact, other books in which McGill is involved mightily.
Prior to #theEXCHANGE, which is her second written work, McGill composed “Boss’d Up On Purpose,” a collaborative August 2018-released project she wrote with 12 other writers.
Then there is “It’s Not That Easy,” McGill’s third book that’s centered largely on her steadfastly reminding er audience to “stop telling me to get over it!”
This March 2019-released book, in fact, is comprised of 10 other authors, many of whom are mental illness survivors.
THE LUKE 18:1 FACTOR
McGill also has played a major hand in the soon-to-be-released book entitled, “Soulful Prayers,” a coed collaboration project that is comprised of 51 writers, all of whom have grasped a thorough understanding of the power of prayer.
As for her latest book, McGill acknowledged there is, by all accounts, a divine message she aspires to get across to her readers.
“The divine message I’m sending through this book is no matter how life started out for you, you have to power to make the necessary changes to get it right,” said McGill, adding that the feedback has been overwhelmingly amazing. “And right should consist of who did God send you here to be…nothing more or less should matter above His plan.
“I am truly an example of the saying, ‘I’m just a nobody, trying to tell somebody that Jesus saves.’”
As McGill can boldly profess today unlike never before, had it not been for the Lord Who was on her side, there’s no telling where she’d be.
“He could have easily allowed me to die in my sins,” said McGill, “but He thought so much of me, He used my mess for a message and allowed me to exchange my truth for others’ transformation.”
Talk about running with a monumental vision.
And not just running with it.
But rather picking it back up and diligently put it on display until her God-mandated vision had come full circle, courtesy of an awe-inspiring book.
Yep. That’s just like God.
