Chicago entrepreneur Lisa R. Jenkins’ The Slipout™ app bringing awareness to men and women in abusive or toxic relationships

Add inventor to Lisa R. Jenkins’ immeasurable entrepreneurial repertoire.

Besides being an accomplished author of four books to date, Jenkins is the mastermind behind The Slipout™ app, a newly-assembled and credible presentation software for any man or woman, particularly those who may find themselves in any kind of abusive or toxic relationship.
Generally, this app is essential in that it allows people to find their voices or, as Jenkins specifically acknowledged, to escape and grow into living the purposeful lives they were meant for.
“As I recently celebrated seven years of my new life, I was called to detail how I safely escaped with my life to fill the void within a unique group of individuals.” Jenkins told Making Headline News during a recent interview.

Also, Jenkins said, visitors of The Slipout™ app will find what she suitably describes as “extremely personal and matter-of-fact information” that shows that they are not alone. “By using The Slipout™ app, visitors will learn how I survived and healed from something that attempted to destroy me,” she said.

A native of Chicago, Jenkins, 46, is a certified domestic violence advocate who authored the following self-published books:

  • How To Get The F#@% Out, in which adopted the pen name Skylar James
  • A Self-Help Guide To Leaving An Abusive Relationship, which was released in 2015
  • A Mother’s Love Through A Broken Heart, released in 2017
  • Identifying And Ending Generational Curses, an e-Book that debuted in 2018 and,
  • Broken Pieces Made Whole, an intriguing written work that is accompanied by a workbook, which debuted in 2020.
KNOWLEDGE IS POWER — Moreover, Jenkins explained, The Slipout™ app is intended to help any victim gain practical knowledge and experience in various areas surrounding self-reflection, domestic violence, toxic relationships, and self-care. (Photo by Felicia T. Simpson)

Having survived what she deems as “21 years of extreme verbal, emotional, and physical abuse,” which resulted in post-traumatic stress disorder (or PTSD), Jenkins emphasized, among other things, she’s hopeful The Slipout™ app reaches the hands of those who need it most.

“I was inspired to create this app by my own experiences and by every attack or death I see on the news due to domestic violence,” Jenkins said.

The design, she said, assumes that visitors will learn best by becoming actively involved in the learning and growth process. Much of the material included in The Slipout™ app consists of information that visitors can read, process, and practice at their own pace, Jenkins said.

SEVEN EQUALS COMPLETION — “As I recently celebrated seven years of my new life, I was called to detail how I safely escaped with my life to fill the void within a unique group of individuals.” Jenkins told Making Headline News during a recent interview. (Photo by Felicia T. Simpson)

As for her newfound invention — which is currently available for download on Google Play and Apple Stores — Jenkins said:

“Abuse is not always black and blue. Just because there are no black eyes, broken bones, or bloody lips does not mean there is no abuse. There is often information on how to leave but rather anything resources on what to do afterwards. The Slipout™ app does just that.”
