PURPOSED TO SURVIVE
Sathya Callender undoubtedly has gone through some stuff.
Because of whom she is and because of where God is taking her, she’s been blessed to overcome more stuff than she could have ever envisioned.
“It’s important for me to inspire others daily because if I can survive and overcome, I know the next person can,” Callender told Making Headline News. “I want to see others walk in their God given purpose. I want people to be the best they can be and do everything with the love of God.”

A native of Brooklyn, New York, Callender, 42, is owner and CEO of Kutie Patooties Gift Boutique, as well as the founder of Scars of Survival Inc., her Alpharetta, Georgia-based nonprofit organization that’s geared toward domestic violence victims and survivors.
Also, Callender is the founder and CEO of Scars of Survival Magazine, a globally acclaimed publication that caters exclusively to the fight against domestic violence.
October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
A credible nonprofit organization she established in 2016, Callender’s Scars of Survival Inc. has become a fixture for providing transition, awareness, and prevention services for victims and families of domestic violence, and sexual abuse, according to a detailed introduction at https://www.scarsofsurvival.org/about_us.
Moreover, Scars of Survival’s mission is centered largely on assist in changing the lives of those individuals affected by domestic violence and sexual abuse “one story at a time,” according to a spokesperson for Callender’s organization.
Interestingly, Scars of Survival is committed to inspiring and empowering self-development through life skill workshops or, as Callender acknowledged, to cultivate communities free from violence as we provide transitional services, bridge support services, and community outreach services.
Callender’s Kutie Patooties Gift Boutique went into full operations in 2014.
“Every baby diaper cake, towel cake, beatable pen, gift basket, and maternity sashe is handcrafted and made with love,” according to an introduction of Callender’s gift boutique on its Facebook page. “We pride ourselves on using quality products for every item we make.”
And, then there’s Callender’s Scars of Survival Magazine, a publication she launched in 2020.

A bi-monthly domestic violence-based magazine that’s centered largely on empowering women, men, and children to continuously become aware and stay informed of domestic violence, as well as the causes, effects, prevention, and how to overcome, Callender emphasized, among other things.
“We choose not to discriminate against race, sex, gender, or religion,” Callender said of her new magazine which is available in digital and print editions.
A graduate of Brooklyn’s Boys and Girls High School, Callender enrolled at Ashford University, having acquired an Associate Degree in Human Services. Consequently, enrolled at Mentee Career Institute, where she graduated from the Nurses Assistant and Phlebotomy programs.
Callender later enrolled at Fisk University in Nashville, where she mastered the Pharmacy Technician and Medical Office Assistant programs.
To her credit, Callender has witnessed the fourth issue release of Scars of Survival and, much to her delight, has signed an agreement with Books A Million and Barnes & Noble to carry her publication nationwide. “What I love most about my business (ventures) is being able to serve others and also to be a platform to allow others to heal, survive, and overcome,” Callender said. “My business caters to all ages. We’ve impacted Ireland, Russia, Canada, Italy, Africa, Barbados, and Australia. My personal mission is to show God’s love through gift giving, empowering, encouraging, inspiring, and being a voice for those who feel they have no voice.”
