EDITOR’S NOTE: This is the final of two in-depth news stories Making Headline News is featuring on Georgia entrepreneurs/authors Joseph and Denise Gordon.
Can two walk together, except they be agreed? (Amos 3:3 KJV)
FAITH & FOOD
During an interview this week with Making Headline News, Denise Gordon was asked to explain the purpose for which God had predestined she and her husband, Joseph, to collectively assemble the book, A Clean Plate: Enjoying Life One Bite At A Time Gluten & Dairy Free.
To her credit, Denise Gordon provided a rather eloquent and fascinating response.
“This book is just one of the many avenues God has and will continue to use us for ministry,” she said. “Imagine being obedient to the purpose that God has over your life and seeing lives being changed in the masses. I believe it is more than just food. Healing and deliverance come in many ways. We just need to know that God will use every opportunity and every situation to ensure that He gets the Glory out if it.”
Wait. There’s more, as far as Denise Gordon is concerned.
“The purpose that God has created for our family is a lot like being in the kitchen, especially our kitchen,” she continued. “The kitchen comprises of a variety of ingredients. Some of these ingredients may not even seem flavorful or appealing. However, when you pair these ingredients with vision, innovation, and mostly love, potential becomes infinite. Honestly, you just never know what a little inspiration, love, and authenticity can do to create something so unique, so different, and already spoken for. Only God can do something that amazing.”

Surely, God had strategically used the Gordons mightily for such a post-pandemic time as now, most notably as co-authors for a newly-assembled cookbook that figures to garner a global impact — much sooner than later.
A newly-composed written work that will debut in Summer 2021, the Gordons’ A Clean Plate: Enjoying Life One Bite At A Time Gluten & Dairy Free is comprised mostly of what this couple describes as a variety of Caribbean traditions, as well as gluten and dairy free cuisine.
Joseph and Denise Gordons are owners of Celestial Eats Nutrition and Wellness & Celestial Eats Café, their Buford, Georgia-based health and wellness ventures that have become fixtures for specializing in all things nutrition catering, particularly for individuals with food sensitivity, allergy and intolerance.
“Our family brings that uniqueness to fun and healthy eating by adding our Jamaican flavor and creativity in everything we prepare,” Denise Gordon said of her family’s latest milestone that has come wrapped up in an informative new cookbook.
A book that, by all accounts, is birthed by way of 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 — “He went even further and asked one simple question: “Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God?” Denise Gordon said — the Gordons’ A Clean Plate: Enjoying Life One Bite At A Time Gluten & Dairy Free is a Christian-based book that vividly reminds the masses of a few notable, life-enhancing observations.
“In essence, in everything we do, using the one natural body that we do have, we should make every effort to ensure that we take care of it both naturally and spiritually,” Joseph Gordon explains. “God knew that both the natural and the spirit needed to coexist, knowing that the spirit man ultimately must be the dominant man. Added Denise Gordon: “For this to take place, both naturally and spiritually, we must consciously feed our body and mind the things that promote good health and well-being while eliminating the things we know are detrimental our vitality. Hosea 4:6 says that, ‘My people are destroyed because of lack of knowledge….’ This book serves to provide healthy food choices for all and to add some flavor to the alternative way of cooking. We must ensure we are aware of the things our bodies need to flourish in rich health.”
A book that took a little less than a year to compose — the couple began writing it in September 2020 and finished in July 2021 — A Clean Plate: Enjoying Life One Bite At A Time Gluten & Dairy Free is the first book for the Gordons, who announced that their nutrition journal is currently available for purchase on Etsy.
Much to their delight, the Gordons have received an array of favorable feedback since word spread of their new cookbook. Now that their highly-anticipated book is just days away from its ceremonious release, two more cookbooks are on the horizon, the couple announced.

“We are a Jamaican family with three beautiful American kids,” said Denise Gordon, a native of Kingston, Jamaica. “My daughter would call us the ‘JAmerican Gordon Family,’ born with God’s purpose and creativity.”
Just as the Lord had predestined for them all along.
Which, after all, goes to show that only God can do something that amazing.
