EDITOR’S NOTE: In honor of Georgia businessman Paul Edward Johnson’s immeasurable success in his notable profession, Making Headline News’ editorial staff deemed it essential to appropriately label this news report an “October Premiere Special” to kick off the 10th month of the year.
And the King will answer and say to them, “Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these, my brethren, you did it to Me.” (Matthew 25:40 NKJV)
VISION FOCUSED
Paul Johnson has become a fixture for customarily empowering today’s youth, has made it his civic duty to remind our youth of their distinctly unique legitimacy, if you will.
“Youth need constant validation,” Johnson told Making Headline News during a weekend interview. “Consistency is key and vital and should be ongoing. Having a center that places a focus and priority on the youth of our community is of the utmost importance.”
The center to which Johnson is alluding is Emerging Leaders Learning Center, his Augusta, Georgia-based full-service organization that is located at 3408 Peach Orchard Road.
Generally, this up-and-coming childcare learning center is resourcefully focused not just on education, but learning holistically, as mentioned in a detailed introduction of this venture at https://emergingleaderslearningcenter.com/.
“Our center is far beyond the status-quo, providing exceptional, personalized, and age-centric learning opportunities for your little one/ones,” a spokesperson for Emerging Leaders Learning Center said. “We look forward to having the opportunity to serve your family.”

A lifelong mentor and motivator whose professional expertise in his chosen industry spans some 30 years, Johnson boasts a wealth of experience as the mastermind behind Emerging Leaders Learning Center, having assumed the notable roles as a mentor for the Big Brother and Big Sisters programs, a stint that lasted nine years.
In addition, Johnson has mentored and coached in his “private life,” most notably as a clergyman.
A native of Augusta, Johnson’s rise as the face of Emerging Leaders Learning Center comes amid humble beginnings.
As Johnson vividly recalls, he grew up on what he describes as “the wrong side of town,” which ultimately fueled his desire to bolt inner city Augusta upon graduating high school.
For what it’s worth, that Johnson deemed it necessary to often revisit his old stomping ground essentially changed the overall landscape of his life, a trend that, as a result, inspired him to persevere in such a way that he would subsequently implement an ascending change in the very neighborhood in which he grew.
Talk about remembering where he came from.
“I would visit often and drive through the old neighborhoods and would see children playing on the same grounds that I played on,” Johnson recalls. “Only change was the faces and years, but the same dirt and seemingly lack of opportunity to succeed and excel. I wanted better for myself and those little faces playing years later on the same grounds that I played upon 40 years prior. I knew that education would be the catalyst to help change the situation, thus my vision and dream to give back to my community was born.”
A rising business endeavor that offers an after-school program and services mostly individual and groups ranging in ages eight-to-12, the Emerging Leaders Learning Center is in what Johnson labels “its infancy” stages, given it officially went into operations in December 2020.

Still, Johnson’s childcare learning center has made favorable strides in recent months, a trend he’s convinced will progress, much sooner than later, given his immeasurable body of work in his selected line of work, coupled with his experienced and resourceful staff.
“(We’re) currently only focusing on infants, toddlers, and Pre-K,” said Johnson, adding that his long-term goal as a learning center is to focus on advocacy, teen and adolescent mentoring, coaching, and after school programs.
Interestingly enough, Johnson said plans are in the works for Emerging Leaders Learning Center to eventually venture off into adult daycare.
By all accounts, Johnson is forever grateful to his mother for steadfastly paving the way to his sustained entrepreneurial success, despite the rash of hurdles about which she had to clear in overseeing a single-parent household.
“She was a single parent of four and believed that education, work ethic, hard work, and determination would set the stage for opportunities of success,” Johnson said of his mother’s massive impact. “Our mission through our learning center is) to set the foundation for the youth of our community to be successful, realize and achieve goals and aspirations, and send them forth to be the future leaders of the CSRA (Central Savannah River Area) and beyond.”
Johnson announced that Emerging Leaders Learning Center will be hosting an empowerment event later in October, which is recognized as Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

“I have a guest speaker scheduled to come to the center during the month of October to speak with female youth in the CSRA,” Johnson said. “The speaker has a dynamic story to share with our female teen youth. Future speakers will address the male youth. My plan is to have monthly sessions.
“I am a lifelong advocate for the youth,” Johnson continued. “Upon retirement, I purposed in my heart and mind to return to my community to assist with educating and equipping the youth for the challenges that they will face in the world. I have made this my mantra in life and will do everything possible to achieve this goal.”
All the while purposefully reminding our youth of their distinctly unique validity, if you will.
Talk about remembering where he came from.
