I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. (Romans 8:18 NIV)
YOU GO GIRL!!!
On the morning of February 16, Brandie Dixon Robinson took to her social media timeline, where she erected a rather spirited, thought-provoking post.
Said Robinson before her gallery of followers via Facebook: “Nothing is a coincidence. Everything you’re experiencing is meant to happen exactly how it’s happening. Embrace the lessons. Be grateful. -GetUpGirl”
Because of whom she is and because of where God is taking her, Robinson seems destined to “embrace” what could be appropriately dubbed the season of a rebirth for this Columbia, Maryland-based author, who is the mastermind behind the book, Get Up Girl! You Got This! How To Rise From The Ashes Of Abuse.
“I can remember in 2012 when I was going through my abuse and the only outlet I had was being around people in the church,” Robinson, during an interview this week with Making Headline News, said, explaining what essentially fueled her desire to compose her new book. “God spoke to me and gave me a vision to, one day, open a women’s shelter for women who were being abused and going through trauma related situations. I would always ask myself, ‘Am I living out the dream and vision God has for my life? What is God’s vision for my life?’ And God spoke to me, and He started showing me through scripture that my vision would someday come true and that my way to heal would be through writing. “The scripture he showed me was Jeremiah 29:11 says, ‘For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’”

A highly-anticipated book that debuted in Fall 2021 and is comprised of 109 pages in length, Robinson’s Get Up Girl! You Got This! How To Rise From The Ashes Of Abuse is a tale of a young lady that we all may know too well, according to a detailed introduction of this author’s book at Amazon.com.
“Drowned in abuse and adversity, she was able to make it through her teen years only to discover that those same troubles would haunt her even in her young marriage. She felt that she was an ordinary woman,” said an Amazon spokesperson for Robinson’s Get Up Girl! You Got This! “She had friends and a beautiful and strong single mother that loved her dearly. For 18 years, she felt like a prisoner to her abuse from the past and present. The feeling of being an object for someone’s ulterior use became more difficult for her to be passive about. She survived an impossible situation, but that’s not the end of the tale. She promised herself that she would document her hardships and take a stand for anyone else that needed to know their worth.”
FIELDING RAVE REVIEWS
In a nutshell, an Amazon spokesperson added, Robinson’s “Get Up Girl! You Got This! was written to help you overcome the feeling of being complacent in your past, present or assumed future. It was made to spread positivity in a dark world that only gets brighter the further you walk with your head held high. You should never feel that you’re not worth it. You are it! You are the grand prize that you’ve been searching for all this time. You deserve the world, and the first step is to claim it!”
A remarkable compelling written work Robinson needed somewhere in the neighborhood of seven months to compose — “I did not start writing my book until February of 2021, and I finished successfully September 2021,” she said — Robinson acknowledged, among things, that the divine purpose for producing Get Up Girl! You Got This! is to strategically help survivors of abuse understand that they are not bad because bad things were done to them.
“(I’m committed to) letting women know that ‘You don’t have to put up with it. Get help. Leave and (know) there is a better life out there,’’ Robinson told MHN. “Just being more proactive to give them the tools and resources that I did not have on how to recognize abusive behavior.
“The purpose of my book that God has created for me is to realize in my heart that He has a purpose for me, and believe in myself, and know that I can move toward fulfilling it without fear or anxiety of what others would think about me and to know if I talked about my abuse that it was nothing wrong with living out my truth,” Robinson, a native of Houston, Texas, continued. “But God said to go deeper and talk about everything from the childhood trauma and abuse, to being raped at 15, and the abused I suffered in my marriage. (This book is purposed to) give them the truth and (to enlighten them on) how you were able to overcome and live out your dream and goals in spite of the trials and tribulations you went through.”
Much to her delight, Robinson has become the beneficiary of a rash of favorable feedback since word spread about her new book.
“The feedback through my book Get Up Girl, You Got This! has definitely sparked positive relationships with other women who are silently going through or have gone through similar situations I went through,” Robinson said. “It has definitely given women their voices to speak to me in private about things they have been harboring for so many years.”
Interestingly enough, Robinson has said she has assembled a journal for those who love to write and need positive daily affirmations to help them see their own vision and what they want for their own lives.
