She considers a field before she buys or accepts it — expanding her business prudently — with her profits, she plants fruitful vines in her vineyard. (Proverbs 31:16 Amplified Bible)

“I’ve always enjoyed helping friends and family with finding companies to provide good quality extensions such as bundles and wigs,” Routt told Making Headline News during a recent interview. “I’m not looking to become a billionaire from this business. I enjoy helping women slay their hair.”
Interestingly enough, Routt said she’s destined to not just help women look their best by way of her wide range of products.
“Don’t worry men,” said Routt, “I am working on options for you as well.”
An accomplished serial entrepreneur in her own right, Routt — who’s also a longtime graphic designer and the CEO of a nonprofit organization — emphasized, among other things, that her motivation for establishing The Lovely Queens Hair arose in large part out of her fervent desire to help people from various walks of life enhance their overall appearance.
SLAY WITH KAY
“I wouldn’t say it was necessary the competitive drive, but the desire to help others,” Routt said. “The Lovely Queen allows me an opportunity to assist other Queens to showcase the Queen within.
Never mind that she admittedly is a “busy, busy woman, wife, and mother of two.” She’s still determined to go to great lengths to fortify her keen passion by way of her newest business venture.
“Sometimes, I often find myself lacking the time to go to the salon, shopping, and just all the wonderful things that ladies enjoy,” Routt said. “Truthfully, I enjoy being able to offer women quality products that’s affordable. My mission is to be able to truly inspire women to feel and look their best when choosing to wear quality hair extensions and wigs.”
The co-founder of Believe In Dreams Network, a Houston-area, community-based nonprofit organization that strives to work towards supporting vulnerable children with special education needs and people with learning disabilities, Routt is a Sam Houston High School alum who holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and IS Management.
Her rise to entrepreneurial success is one in which she describes as a long journey, for the most part, something by which she doesn’t merely take for granted, she acknowledged.
“There have been many that inspired me to venture into this arena,” Routt said of her desire to start of hair extensions endeavor. “I recall being on the phone with my auntie while shopping for wigs and they were a little pricey. My aunt really wanted a certain wig, but it was out of her price range. I began researching into the industry when it hit me that there are a lot of women who could benefit from quality extensions if they could fit it into their budget.”
So far, so good for Routt, who seems well on her way to overseeing an empire through her latest business venture — much sooner rather than later.
“I wanted to fill that void,” Routt said. “I wanted to offer higher quality hair extensions and easy installs at reasonable prices. I want to cater to the everyday woman, whether she is working Corporate America or a stay-at-home mom.

“Every woman deserves to have access to quality products without being over charged. It’s something about when us women get dressed up and our hair is flawless. We be feeling ourselves. My grandmother used to always tell me our hair is our glory. For me, I can have on leggings and a T-shirt if my hair is done. I swear I feel as if I’m wearing a ball gown.”
Now, she said, the time has come that she helps empower others to enjoy — and embrace — that same amazing feeling.
