Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron’s beard that went down to the skirts of his garments. As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the Lord commanded the blessing, even life for evermore. (Psalm 133:1-3 KJV)
BLESS THE LORD, OH MY SOUL
For what it’s worth, Father’s Day weekend 2023 is one Roshon R. Franklin will embrace for the rest of his life.
Credit the fact that he has emerged as a first-time published author as arguably the biggest reason why.
“Phenomenon to all my co-author brethren,” Franklin wrote in a Father’s Day post via Facebook. “We are continuing making history. Our Most High God is moving in a favor. I’m very thankful and gracious grateful…Hallelujah Hallelujah. Amen. Somebody, come on now. Speak it! Amen…Amen!”
Well, that’ll preach, given Franklin doesn’t shy away from the notion that he is abundantly bless as one of 15 co-authors to collaborate by collectively producing Grief Through His Eyes: Seeing Grief From His Point Of View Volume 2, Visionary Author Deborah Juniper-Frye’s highly-anticipated, Amazon Bestselling anthology that is accompanied by a variety of life-altering stories by her male counterparts.

As part of Making Headline News’ 2023 Essence Music Festival advance coverage leading to the “the party with a purpose” event June 29-July 3 in New Orleans, Franklin spoke at length about how God strategically inspired him to compose Chapter 5 of Grief Through His Eyes: Seeing Grief From His Point Of View Volume 2, which is entitled, Promoted Through Grief.
SEASON OF A REBIRTH
“I always had a passion for writing, an opportunity presented itself to me, I answered the call,” who resides in Buckeye, Arizona, told MHN. “It gave me a plate form to express some inner grief that I carried for many years. This opportunity for producing my chapter gave me a chance to sit at the table with other humble men of the Most High God.”
A native of Chicago, Franklin was approached sometime last year about the idea of collaborating with Juniper-Frye’s anthology, which has created a fervent buzz across various message boards and social media platforms.
FROM GOD’S PERSPECTIVE
“This book gave me a seat at the table to share in and ink my thoughts amongst other men who have silenced themselves in grief situation,” Franklin said. “This anthology has helped me as God gave me utterances and experiences to explore more of myself and the obedience to His discernment that I will acknowledge Him in all my ways. The Most High Father who has created me for the betterment of mankind, he giveth to me my abilities.”
To his credit, Franklin has become the beneficiary of a rash of favorable feedback since word spread of his authorship debut.
“I received great feedback from many people, saying, ‘I could not stop reading it,’” said Franklin, adding that he has a few speaking engagements lined up to promote his new book. “As I was on the plane headed to our launch over Father’s Day weekend in Norfolk, Virginia, I began reading again my book and a lady sat next to me and wondered what I was reading. I showed her the book title and she asked me what it was about. I handed her the book gently and asked her to check it out. I closed my eyes and rested since we had a two hour, 30-minute flight.

“From time-to-time I would take a peek to see where she was reading. The moral of the story is she purchased the book while we were in flight. I also signed her book thanking, her for her purchase. She responded, ‘This is a very good book’ for herself and grieving husband who had just lost his brother.”
All things considered, Franklin is already looking ahead to his next authorship adventure, it seems.
REAPING A HARVEST
“Whatever God puts on my mind, I will do,” Franklin said. “I hope to (write more) in the future. Perhaps a Volume 3 Grief Through His Eyes: Seeing Grief From His Point Of View. “My message to the readers is simple: Although it can be difficult, to let go. Life is really not about you. We go through things in life for other people’s comfort and peace of mind.
“I would like my readers to know we can be the cable toe for others to conquer and soothe their grief. And how God has pulled us out from many various storms of life, and when we succeed in helping others, God is honored. I do not exist to fulfill my dreams. I live to (help you) fulfill your dreams.”
