“There’s power in allowing yourself to be known and heard, in owning your unique story, in using your authentic voice. And there’s grace in being willing to know and hear others.” — Michelle Obama, Former First Lady, United States of America
AND ANOTHER ONE

She could actually get used to this.
For the third time in four years, the longtime Hanover, Maryland Businesswoman Dr. Marcea Burnette Whitaker, MD has been named Making Headline News’ International Women’s Day Woman of the Year, becoming the first woman to come away with Dallas, Texas-based media outlet’s most covenant annual global honor three times.
Having previously been named Making Headline News’ International Women’s Day Woman of the Year two years ago, Dr. Whitaker was also named MHN Woman of the Year for 2024.
SALUTING WOMEN WHO SHAPE OUR WORLD

Originally called the International Working Women’s Day, this day is celebrated annually on March 8 and customarily commemorates the movement for women’s rights.
According to https://www.internationalwomensday.com/, organizations and individuals around the world have collectively become committed to helping women and girls achieve their ambitions, challenge conscious and unconscious bias, as well as call for gender-balanced leadership and value women and men’s contributions equally.
In addition, this day was designed in part to create inclusive flexible cultures. From awareness-raising to concrete action, organizations rallied their people to pledge support to help forge gender parity on International Women’s Day and beyond, according to a spokesperson for IWD.

When asked to assess her array of notable achievements over the past year, Dr. Whitaker described it as a year filled with divine connections and collaborations.
For starters, Dr. Whitaker last February attended Super Bowl 59 as a media personality, during which she represented SiriusXM, interviewing the likes of renowned gospel recording artists Yolanda Adams and Jonathan McReynolds and actor/comedian Bill Bellamy.
In addition, Dr. Whitaker helped assemble a team of speakers to the stage during the 2025 edition of Refueled & On Fire.
As if that wasn’t enough to carve out what was a banner year, Dr. Whitaker — an esteemed Visionary Author for the Barnes and Noble bestseller Destiny Exposè: The Leading Ladies Volume 1 — spearheaded a once-in-a-lifetime billboard reveal with her co-authors in New York City’s historic Times Square.
Also, Dr. Whitaker had become a fixture for the Curated Leadership Development Program for Nigeria (Tea Prime Leadership).
“Pure excitement and honored to be recognized for a third (time),” said Dr. Whitaker, explaining the joy of being named MHN International Women’s Day Woman of The Year. “International Women’s Day means celebrating women and who they are and what they bring to any and every day.”
Looking ahead, Dr. Whitaker emphasized, among other things, she’s destined to inspire women to broaden their horizon and maximize their potential, most notably by way of her assortment of empowerment platforms.
“I give opportunities to women (through the) Create Your Stage Boot Camp, Show Up and Shine Visibility Facebook group, and Refueled and On Fire stage event,” Dr. Whitaker told MHN.
