Atlanta businesswoman Alandria Lloyd named Making Headline News International Women’s Day Woman of the Year for 2018

And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you. (Joel 2:25 KJV)

Just before midday EST on Thursday, Alandria Lloyd paused momentarily to assess the overall landscape of her life, particularly within the past year or so.

THING OF BEAUTY — A native Natalbany, Louisiana, Alandria Lloyd, 33, was named Making Headline News’ International Women’s Day Woman of the Year for 2018, edging out 10 other women across the country who were considered for this honor by the publication’s editorial staff.

As usual, she found herself guilty of praising her way through.

“In the past year, I’ve experienced a lot of losses in the area of relationships and finances,” Lloyd explained. “Some things that I thought to be the right thing, turned out to be all wrong.”

But God…

“Through the losses, I’ve learned to lean on God all the more,” said Lloyd, sounding as if she had become engaged in a testimony service, of sorts. “Even in the midst of losing things God has restored me with better than I had before.”

Fortunately for Lloyd, an Atlanta-area businesswoman and devout woman of faith, it is due in large to her bend-but-don’t-break-faith, coupled with her valiant contributions to her community, that have given way to what ultimately had turned out to be her grandest surprise in some time.

CAUGHT OFF THE GUARD — The third year for an honor that was spearheaded by Making Headline News Founder and Publisher Andre Johnson, Lloyd on Thursday morning was surprised after news spread of her being named this year’s recipient, saying “I need some good news today!”

“I was overjoyed and in total shock,” Lloyd said of being dubbed International Women’s Day Woman of the Year. “I’m blessed to be considered for such a great title.”

Originally called the International Working Women’s Day, this day is celebrated annually on March 8 and customarily commemorates the movement for women’s rights.

According to www.internationalwomensday.com, organizations and individuals around the world have collectively become committed to helping women and girls achieve their ambitions, challenge conscious and unconscious bias, as well as call for gender-balanced leadership and value women and men’s contributions equally.

Also, this day was designed in part to create inclusive flexible cultures. From awareness-raising to concrete action, organizations rallied their people to pledge support to help forge gender parity on International Women’s Day and beyond, according to a spokesperson for IWD.

The third year for an honor that was spearheaded by Making Headline News Founder and Publisher Andre Johnson, Lloyd on Thursday morning was surprised after news spread of her being named this year’s recipient, saying, “I need some good news today!”

Having authored “Fasting For Change” Prayer Journal, Lloyd is also the proud founder of Change Agent Outreach Ministries, LLC, a relatively newly ministry she established in November 2017.

Given the notable strides she’s made within the past year, many who know Lloyd agreed that this honor was well deserved for an empowering, beloved woman who has gone to great lengths to give back mightily to her community.

Lloyd is the proud founder of Change Agent Outreach Ministries, LLC, a relatively new ministry she established in November 2017.

An organization that is powered by her A’Maya’s Army nonprofit organization, Change Agent Outreach Ministries’ primary focus is centered on serving single mothers, particularly those who have suffered the lost a child (or of children).

“My ministry is encouraging and mentoring mothers who have experienced a similar loss,” Lloyd said in a January interview with Making Headline News.

In the coming months, Lloyd will be afforded the golden opportunity to further promote her organization.

From June 22-24, Lloyd will host A’Maya’s Army Mothers Retreat, a three-day event designed to encourage and inspire mothers who have experienced the loss of a child.

DONATE TO ALANDRIA’S RETREAT HERE: https://www.gofundme.com/grieving-mothers-retreat

Accompanied by the theme, “Mask Off,” the weekend retreat will take place at the Evergreen Marriott Resort in nearby Stone Mountain, Georgia, during which attendees will have an opportunity to take off the mask and openly express how they feel without the fear of judgment.

“I chose that theme, because after a woman loses a child, she learns how to wear a mask,” Lloyd said. “The mask is used to make others comfortable around her while she’s in mourning. The mask is pretending like all is well, even though she’s breaking down inside. My mission is to motivate mothers to keep pursuing purpose and to know that there is life after loss.”

YOU GO GIRL — Given the notable strides she’s made within the past year, many who know Lloyd agreed that this honor was well deserved for a businesswoman who has gone to great lengths to give back mightily to her community.

All things considered, if anyone can greatly attest to being left to press and navigate their way through arguably the toughest of losses, surely, Lloyd can — especially after having to make sense of having suffered the losses of premature babies at the ages of 15 and 16.

“After losing two children so close together, I was on the verge of losing my mind,” Lloyd said during an interview with MHL in January.

Nearly two decades removed from having witnessed undoubtedly the darkest chapters of her young life, Lloyd on Thursday was blindsided by a rather unlikely honor.

Talk about fielding some much-needed good news on an otherwise challenging and gloomy morning.

“I intend on hosting and being a part of more empowerment seminars for women,” Lloyd said in the wake of her latest notable honor. “I’m in the process of developing tools to share with women to empower themselves by living their dreams and embracing the purpose God has given unto them.”

What a difference this past year has made.

Longtime Maryland real estate professional Michelle Larkin has been nothing short of amazing during her illustrious career

Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil in the Lord is not in vain. (1 Corinthians 15:58)

To grasp a thorough concept of why longtime businesswoman Michelle Larkin’s reputation is such that she routinely demonstrates having a heart for people, look no further than her illustrious career, one that spans 15 years.

ABOUT HER BUSINESS — A native of Annapolis, the capital of Maryland that is located in Anne Arundel County — a historic establishment with a population of roughly 537,656 residents, according to latest U. S. census — Accomplished Maryland Businesswoman Michelle Larkin has become a fixture in the mortgage business and, given the immeasurable strides she’s made over the past decade-and-a-half, it’s safe to assume that her best and brightest days are well ahead of her.

“I tell my clients, ‘Believe in your dreams, and they may come true. Believe in yourself, and they will,’” Larkin told Making Headline News during an interview this week.

In Larkin’s case, “Believe in your dreams,” by all accounts, are the operative words for one of Waldorf, Maryland’s finest managers/loan officers in the ever-so-competitive real estate industry.

A native of Annapolis, the capital of Maryland that is located in Anne Arundel County — a historic establishment with a population of roughly 537,656 residents, according to latest U. S. census — Larkin has become a fixture in the mortgage business and, given the immeasurable strides she’s made over the past decade-and-a-half, it’s safe to assume that her best and brightest days are well ahead of her.

“I started my career as a realtor, then realized that I loved the money side of real estate, then pursued my mortgage originators license,” Larkin said.

The rest, as they say, was history.

SPREADING THE LOVE — Because Larkin, this beloved and passionate East Coast-based real estate professional remained steadfast, immovable, and always abound in the work of the Lord, knowing that her labor — and, of course, her labor of love — in the Lord was never in vain, she’s yet living out her dream, all the while helping others fulfill theirs in the process.

Since earning her mortgage originators license, this young, vibrant, resilient real estate professional has been nothing short of impressive.

Never mind that Larkin for a number of years prior to finding her niche in her professional had to persevere as a single mother.

“I have seen that struggle,” Larkin said. “I wanted more for my children, but also wanted to help and inspire others as well.”

To her credit, it was due in large part to Larkin’s unyielding love and support for others — mostly notably during her days as working in sales — that someone, in turned, deemed it essential to provide her with the necessary advice and drive she needed to take a leap of faith.

What a monumental leap it was.

“I was inspired by a co-worker to pursue real estate,” Larkin said. “This was in 2003. I love the end result of real estate, to see folks that thought they could not ever have a piece of the American Dream actually have that dream. Your home is where you will spend most of your time, raise your children, make memories, etc. It is a special life purchase.”

And, because Larkin, this beloved and passionate East Coast-based real estate professional remained steadfast, immovable, and always abound in the work of the Lord, knowing that her labor — and, of course, her labor of love — in the Lord was never in vain, she’s yet living out her dream, all the while helping others fulfill theirs in the process.

Credit Larkin’s former co-worker, Fran Shirey of nearby Grasonville, Maryland, as whom she labels “the No. 1 person” who reminded her time and again that she believed her.

FAMILY FOCUS — Larkin’s father, Ernest Wallace, an Annapolis-based entrepreneur, as well as her three sons and her uncle, the late Anthony Wallace, each have played in integral role in her sustained success in the real estate industry throughout the years.

“That has been 15 years ago,” Larkin said.

Larkin’s father, Ernest Wallace, an Annapolis-based entrepreneur, as well as her three sons and her uncle, the late Anthony Wallace, each have played an integral role in her sustained success in the real estate industry throughout the years.

“Last but not least, my clients, who put their trust in me guiding them through one of the biggest purchases, if not the biggest purchase of their lives,” said Larkin, paying homage to her biggest supporters.

A proud graduate of Annapolis’ Broadneck High School, Larkin advanced her education by enrolling at American InterContinental University in Atlanta. Currently, she is enrolled at Strayer University, where she is pursing a law degree to complement her real estate and business-related ventures.

EXERCISING HER FAITH — To her credit, it was due in large part to Larkin’s unyielding love and support for others — mostly notably during her days as working in sales — that someone, in turned, deemed it essential to provide her with the necessary advice and drive she needed to take a leap of faith. And what a monumental leap it was.

Interestingly, Larkin offers a grant program, which covers 3.5% down payment to her clients.

This program, she said, is an in-house grant entity and prospective home buyers must possess 640 credit score to qualify. Also, she said there are no outside classes to attend and prospective home buyers must be qualified while qualifying for a home loan.

“There is no age limit; any adult over 18 can purchase a home,” Larkin said.

She also announced that she will be hosting a forthcoming home buyer and personal credit workshop in her native home county of Anne Arundel, an event that is available for anyone who would like to improve their personal credit, purchase a home, and take advantage of her down payment grant program.

The workshop will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Mason Realty located at 7452 Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard, Suite 201B, in Glen Burnie, Maryland.

Also, Larkin has a host of workshops scheduled starting in March and will run through September, during which prospective home buyers can acquire home owner’s information for free.

“I love helping and educating people about the home buying and financial process,” Larkin said. “Many come to me with challenged credit and other issues, and helping them navigate and change their world is gratifying.”

Much like her illustrious career, one that spans 15 years.

And counting, of course.

Arkansas-based author Juanisha Neal-Finley’s ‘Revealing The Secrets Of My Hurt’ labeled a ‘must read’ by her growing audience

DESTINY STEPS REVEALED — An informative, emotional paperback project that is comprised of 116 pages and was officially released on June 27 of this year, Juanisha Neal-Finley’s “Revealing The Secrets Of My Hurt” is a tear-jerking, nail-biting, sitting-on-the-edge of one’s seat kind of life story that depicts the encounters of young girl who was victimized and tormented time again by an abusive family.

DALLAS— Shasta Langston, one of the proud buyers of Arkansas-based author ‎Juanisha Neal-Finley’s newly-released book, wasted little time taking to her Facebook page earlier this week to enlighten the masses about Finley’s remarkably compelling project.

Said Langston in a rather brief, but spirited post: Love my book!!!!! Congratulations sis…luv u…wishing nothing but the best for u Juanisha Neal-Finley!

And just like that, countless individuals once again had become well-informed about the authorship debut of a young, bright writer, whose best and brightest days are well ahead of her.

“Through the years, God always gave me the vision to write a book, but I chose to do a documentary instead,” Neal-Finley  told Making Headline News this week.

A newly-assembled book in which Neal-Finley recalls in great details a slew of personal developments, most notably the events whereby she had battled diligently in overcoming the struggles of life from what she describes as “pain to purpose,” this gifted writer is the mastermind behind the book entitled, “Revealing The Secrets Of My Hurt.”

A book that originated from a place of authenticity, according to a spokesperson for Neal-Finley’s book at Amazon.com, the author appropriately adopts the featured subject by the name of Young Cindy whom, according to her, rewrites her experiences with a mother who was introduced to drugs and sexual abuse from her father, and ultimately death.

Young Cindy, Neal-Finley’s writes, consequently reveals just how strong God can make anyone in the midst of satan’s schemes. All things considered and because of the divine purpose for which God created her, though, Neal-Finley’s reading audience can grasp a thorough concept of what she labels the experience of her journey in “Revealing The Secrets Of My Hurt,” a newly-erected project that has already drawn a variety of rave reviews since its much-anticipated release less than two months ago.

“That wasn’t it,” said Neal-Finley, further explaining the purpose for her book.

As Neal-Finley further explained, her rise into the world of authorship essentially was jump-started courtesy of her composing short stories on Facebook, coupled with frequent encouragement from God and a host of friends.

The rest, to her credit, was history.

“I decided to write the book,” Neal-Finley said.

A book that much to her delight and to the delight of others, is steadily impacting lives — just as God intended it to be.

“Abuse…especially sexual abuse is real and many don’t like to talk about it,” Neal-Finley said. “Our youths are still getting abused now and are in fear of telling anyone about what is going on in the homes.”

BOOK HER NOW — As for her itinerary, Neal-Finley has a book signing scheduled for Sept 9 at a time that has yet to be announced. Also, she is scheduled for a speaking engagement September 10, at I.M.P.A.C.T., where she will address the youth about various forms of abuse, most notably sexually, physically, mentally, and verbally.

Nowadays and without hesitation, Neal-Finley doesn’t shy away from the notion that being transparent through her book is extremely vital.

“I went many years and all the people that abused me got away,” Neal-Finley said with a straight face.

A supervisor for Husqvarna Outdoor Products in her native establishment of Nashville, Arkansas, Neal-Finley is a missionary for the Kingdom of God. Her nonprofit organization, NACO, Inc, was founded by her and Jamar Finley, her husband of 18 years.

“It’s real and it exists,” said Neal-Finley, adding that her book essentially is the first of a four-part mini-series. “(I want) to let them know that every child has a voice.”

Much like she’s done with her initial book which, according to one of her proud buyers, is already a must read.

“Y’all better get y’all a copy,” Langston said in her social media post earlier this week.

Chances are, others are about to follow suit.

North Carolina businesswoman Tammy Jurnett-Lewis’ living out her dream as owner of Ideal Healthcare Services

WALKING IN HER PURPOSE — All things considered and because of her steadfast commitment to advancing her educational endeavors, Raleigh, North Carolina businesswoman Jurnett-Lewis is savoring the fruits of her labor, thus witnessing her dreams become a continuous reality as founder and chief executive officer of Ideal Healthcare Services.

In case you don’t know her, Tammy Jurnett-Lewis would like to introduce herself.

For starters, Jurnett-Lewis is a proud native of Maury City, Tennessee, a rural town in Crockett County that is comprised of a population of roughly 674, according the latest U. S. census for that area.

Having attended nearby McGavock High School in Nashville, where she spent a majority of her high school tenure, Jurnett-Lewis would later transfer to Crockett County High in nearby Alamo, where she ultimately graduated before enrolling at Tennessee Tech in Nashville. There, she eventually earned her diploma to become a fully Licensed Practical Nurse (or LPN).

A business she organized 2005, Ideal Healthcare Services is a non-medical agency that is widely known for providing personal care and an assortment of homemaker services, most notably bathing, grooming, dressing, light housekeeping, and meal preparation, among other entities.

“I moved to Raleigh, North Carolina in 2003,” Jurnett-Lewis, during a weekend interview with Making Headline News, explained at length while recalling the notable developments that have given way to what has become a compelling career as a Corporate America professional.

Upon relocating to North Carolina, Jurnett-Lewis earned her undergraduate degree as a Registered Nurse at Johnston Community College and is presently enrolled at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, where she is pursuing a degree related to Family Nurse Practitioner.

All things considered and because of her steadfast commitment to advancing her educational endeavors, Jurnett-Lewis is savoring the fruits of her labor, thus witnessing her dreams become a continuous reality as founder and chief executive officer of Ideal Healthcare Services.

A business she organized in 2005, Ideal Healthcare Services is a non-medical agency that is widely known for providing personal care and an assortment of homemaker services, most notably bathing, grooming, dressing, light housekeeping, and meal preparation, among other entities.

Interesting enough, Jurnett-Lewis — after becoming acclimated as a rising businesswoman — had become inspired to expand while functioning in her element, all while routinely providing staffing and skilled nursing services.

“I then obtained a contract with the federal government, allowing me to care for veterans who could benefit from the services,” Jurnett-Lewis explained.

Consequently, Jurnett-Lewis, after growing the business to what she described as a “substantial size,” elected to sell her business venture, a development that would ultimately benefit her mightily in the long run.

“I sold not because I no longer loved it, but because my passion was bigger than helping the number of individuals that I was able to service,” Jurnett-Lewis explained.

Not to be outdone, Jurnett-Lewis, exemplifying her passion as an efficient medical professional, eventually started Ideal Healthcare Solutions, a consulting company that is geared toward assisting individuals who aspire to start home care agencies, as well as assist individuals who are already in business with maintaining, particularly as with regards to growing and staying in compliance of their respective businesses.

So far, so good for this thriving, progressively resourceful businesswoman, whose best and brightest days are well ahead of her.

“I realized that I can help more seniors receive care by helping more agencies either start their businesses or stay in business,” Jurnett-Lewis said.

In addition, Jurnett-Lewis’ business offers a care management division that is geared toward aiding seniors in finding the appropriate care while simultaneously corresponding with physicians and medication management.

“As a young child, I knew three things before the age of ten,” Jurnett-Lewis said.  “I knew that I loved writing. I knew that I wanted to be a business owner and I knew that I was going to become a nurse. I guess becoming a business owner was in my DNA.”

A TRUE SUCCESS STORY — “As a young child, I knew three things before the age of ten,” Jurnett-Lewis said.  “I knew that I loved writing. I knew that I wanted to be a business owner and I knew that I was going to become a nurse. I guess becoming a business owner was in my DNA.”

Come to think of it, she was undoubtedly born with the mindset of an entrepreneur, considering Jurnett-Lewis’ father was a successful businessman, a trend that sometime back in 2003, inspired this flourishing businesswoman to follow in his footsteps.

“I made up in my mind that it was time to live out my dream,” said Jurnett-Lewis, who’s also an accomplished author of a few books, most notably her written document entitled, Starting And Maintaining a Successful Home Care Agency. “I moved to Raleigh, took some business classes, and started attending business networking events.”

The rest, as they say, was history.

Today, unlike never before, the woman from the rural town of Maury City, Tennessee, who once had to overcome homelessness amid living with her family in a vehicle, doesn’t shy away from the notion that…well…perhaps she can tell it best.

“I love everything about the business arena, but more than anything, I enjoy helping another start their businesses,” Jurnett-Lewis said, adding that amongst her biggest inspirations are her fourth grade teachers, Susan Burns and Shirley Winrow. “The smiles on their faces and excitement in their voices bring me joy.  I don’t care what type of business it is.  I just love business period.

“Everything about what I do brings me joy,” Jurnett-Lewis continued. There is rarely a day when I leave a client with a smile. This is my purpose.  I was born to do what I’m doing.”
