Mid-South-area businessman Dwayne Chaffen, Jr. striving to turn Memphis into an ‘information technology powerhouse’

TEN-NES-SEE THIS BOOMING BUSINESS — A native of Memphis, Dwayne Chaffen, Jr., 32, is owner and chief executive officer of Embrytech, an up-and-coming information technology-based venture that offers, among other things, digital marketing and IT consulting services for a variety of industries.

MEMPHISDwayne Chaffen, Jr. is only keeping it real.

During an interview this week with Making Headline News, Chaffen, Jr., an accomplished Memphis-based businessman who has appropriately found his niche in the ever-so-competitive information technology industry, explained in great detail what obviously is a downward trend, of sorts, particularly as it pertains to African-Americans becoming actively engaged in the prominent Silicon Valley Big Tech companies.

“I would like to say that many people may not realize it, but it is a statistical fact that many of our Silicon Valley Big Tech companies such as Facebook, Apple, Twitter, Intel, and Google workforce is less than two percent black,” Chaffen, Jr. said. “Black people are highly misrepresented within the IT industry.”

GETTIN’ IN WHERE HE FIT IN — Chaffen, Jr. strongly believes that with his flourishing business, he possess the tools and knowledge to bring about change, most notably for the betterment of minorities in what has become an extremely competitive industry.

For what it’s worth and to his distinct credit, that minorities have very little presence in what surely is a booming and popular industry is what has fueled Chaffen, Jr.’s competitive drive to establish his own IT-oriented business, one he hopes will become a fixture throughout the Mid-South and surrounding areas — much sooner than later.

A native of Memphis, Chaffen, Jr., 32, is owner and chief executive officer of Embrytech, an up-and-coming information technology-based venture that offers, among other things, digital marketing and IT consulting services for a variety of industries.

A company that is a little more than eight months removed from its much-anticipated inception, Embrytech is making an array of pivotal strides, in large part because Chaffen, Jr. is armed with a wealth of experience as one of the Mid-South’s youngest and most energetic IT professionals.

MAN ON A MISSION — “My personal mission is to serve my clients with the spirit of excellence,” Chaffen, Jr. said. “Every business owner deserves to know how technology can add to their bottom line, and Embrytech is the perfect company to explain this to them. My goal is to grow Embrytech into an information technology powerhouse that will be around for all future generations to come.”

“We’ve got the necessary tools and expertise to help you grow your business successfully,” said Chaffen, Jr., who boasts more than a decade of information technology experience along with having earned an Associate’s Degree in Computer Networking Systems from Memphis’ ITT-Tech. “We partner with our clients to develop engaging digital marketing strategies, design high quality and scalable solutions, and build rich brand experiences. All of that simply means our efforts translate into creating more customers for you and increasing your bottom line.”

And here’s the real kicker, Chaffen, Jr. is quick to point out.

“And the best part is that your business get to keep 100 percent of our efforts,” he said. “We work for you.”

SIGN OF THINGS TO COME — A company that is a little more than eight removed from its inception, Embrytech is making an array of pivotal strides, in large part because Chaffen, Jr. is armed with a wealth of experience as one of the Mid-South youngest and most energetic IT professional.

In addition, Chaffen, Jr. strongly believes that with his flourishing business, he possesses the essential tools and knowledge to bring about some much-needed change, most notably for the betterment of minorities in what has become an extremely competitive industry.

“Embrytech is working to change that,” Chaffen, Jr. said. “I am not looking to socially diversify or integrate with Silicon Valley, although we will welcome collaboration. I am looking to break the mold, obliterate the stereotypes, and create my own Silicon Valley right here in my home town of Memphis.”

To grasp a thorough understanding of why Chaffen, Jr. is so passionate about having a major impact through his chosen industry in the Mid-South and surrounding areas, look no further than the information technology talent this Memphis Mitchell High graduate has witnessed in the Bluff City in recent years.

“There are many bright IT minds right here in my own back yard,” Chaffen, Jr. said. “Memphis is named America’s Aerotropolis, where runways, roads, rails, and the river merge.”

Not to mention a major establishment that houses a slew of Fortune 500 Companies, Chaffen, Jr. added.

“Memphis is home to FedEx, AutoZone, International Paper, Service Master, Mueller Industries, Fred’s Discount Store, and an assortment of transportation and logistics companies,” Chaffen, Jr. said. “I and my company, Embrytech, are not only willing to solve a client’s technical issues, but also willing to collaborate with other organizations to help turn Memphis into a technical powerhouse.”

With his unyielding passion and purpose, coupled with his solid body of work and experience as a veteran IT professional, it’s safe to assume that Chaffen, Jr. and Embrytech’s biggest and brightest days are well ahead of them.

“My personal mission is to serve my clients with the spirit of excellence,” Chaffen, Jr. said. “Every business owner deserves to know how technology can add to their bottom line, and Embrytech is the perfect company to explain this to them. My goal is to grow Embrytech into an information technology powerhouse that will be around for all future generations to come.”

He’s not bragging, mind you.

He’s only keeping it real.
