CLASSY BY DESIGN

As the summer months loom, Inez Brown’s got something to say to those who are big on fashion.
“I don’t want you walking down the street seeing yourself and someone else in the same design unless it is a T-shirt,” Brown says without hesitation.
To grasp a thorough understanding of why Brown — suitably known as Mz. Inez — rendered such a dauntless statement, look no further than the immeasurable strides she’s made as accomplished fashion designer, a stint that spans more than five decades.
Brown is the face of Anaise Valcour Designs, her credible fashion design venture that has become a fixture for what she appropriately describes as “one-of-a-kind” garments.

“The uniqueness of my designs come from looking at different aspects of clothing and combining the old and the new along with the different materials and textiles and techniques,” Brown, a native of Vallejo, California, told Making Headline News during a recent interview. “Before my mom passed, she told me I ran circles around what she did. That was flattery to me.”
Generally, Brown coined the name, Anaise Valcour Designs, as a unique way to pay homage to her beloved grandmother, this after she initially named her featured business endeavor ZenVios which, according to her, is a combination of her and daughter’s names.
“I am a self-taught designer after the semester of eighth grade Home Economics.” Brown told MHN. “I have created my own sewing library and with pictures of tons of looks I would love to incorporate and create into my own styles.”
Because after all, Brown acknowledged, styles change, but the basics remain.
“Styles are distinct expressions, often categorized into fashion,” Brown said. “They evolve via societal shifts, technology, and subcultures, often blending or redefining previous eras. Fashion is yours. It belongs to you.”

An avid author, entrepreneur, Farmasi Beauty influencer, LegalShield associate, KonnectMD Associate, MoreMito representative, VoiceOvers, as well as a radio and podcast hostess who spent the better part of life in Spokane, Washington, Brown has enjoyed a considerable amount of sustained success she delved in the ever-evolving fashion design industry 50-plus years ago.
“I started with my Home Eco class and loved sewing,” Brown explained. “My mother was also a catalyst in my desire to continue to design. She would make clothes for us during the night and lay them at the bottom of our beds for when we rose in the morning.”
As Brown recalls, she admittedly had no choice but to shift her focus on entrepreneurship, particularly when unfavorable circumstances surfaced some six years ago.
“I went full-fledged when I lost my job in 2020,” Brown said. “I had to become a real entrepreneur then. I fell back on what I knew best: sewing, designing, and alterations. Being a designer did not sustain my way of life. I turned to multiple streams of income to feed my materialistic habits.”
For what it’s worth, Brown undoubtedly has found her fervent niche in the competitive world of entrepreneurship.
“I love being creative in my designs,” Brown said. “I mix and merge old-school styles and new trends and interacting with my customers, as well as grooming new customers to ensure their guaranteed satisfaction.”
Brown’s Anaise Valcour Designs customarily service individuals and groups of all ages and ethnicities.
“Depending on the business depends on the age,” Brown said. “Designs can be for all ages and for male and female.”
GOD-DESIGNED STEPS

When asked who was amongst those who inspired her to diligently pursue fashion design, Brown said:
“You’ve heard it said, ‘It takes a village to raise a child.’ Well, there were quite a few people who inspired me,” Brown said. “I’ll have to say my mom was my main inspiration as a fashion designer initially. When I was young, in the morning, us four kids would magically find clothing at the bottom of our beds when we woke up.
“I thought we had a cloth fairy just like in the story, The Elves And The Shoemaker, where the cobbler had help in the evening by a couple of elves and, in the morning, there were shoes beautifully completed for him. As I continued my journey as a fashion designer, people in the community, at work, and church would encourage me to continue. After a while, my mom said I ran circles around what she used to do sewing.”
And the rest, as they say, was history.
