Oklahoma City author Tohnyonah Jackson’s bend-but-don’t-break faith gives way to a life-changing book

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. (Psalm 139:14 NIV)

All jokes aside.

Tohnyonah Jackson is a little more than two years removed from having witnessed the much-anticipated release of her very first book.

BEND BUT DON’T BREAK FAITH STEPPER — And so it came to pass on May 31, 2016 that Tohnyonah Jackson, a native of Oklahoma City, had officially made her authorship debut with release of her spiritually gut-checking written document entitled, “Bending But Not Breaking.”

And boy, it’s surely one that is steadily advancing the kingdom for such a time as now.

“I used to tell my friends I was going to write a book, but it was in a joking way,” Jackson told Making Headline News during a weekend interview. “It didn’t manifest until after my grandfather on my dad’s side of the family passed away in August of 2013, a few days after my first grandchild was born.”

For Jackson, it also was a seemingly dark, turbulent season of her life, during which God had deemed it essential to place her faith on trial unlike never before.

“I battled with God, because that’s not what I wanted to do. I was trying to get into nursing school…test after test, fail after fail. I didn’t understand why I was not passing the tests, missing by 1 to 5 points. Later I realized I wasn’t being obedient and had to write.” — Author Tohnyonah Jackson

And the rest, as they say, was history.

And so it came to pass on May 31, 2016 that Jackson, a native of Oklahoma City, had officially made her authorship debut with release of her spiritually gut-checking written document entitled, “Bending But Not Breaking,” a 62-page, self-published project that depicts the life of a young girl who wanted to be loved by her family, but according to the writer who’s widely known as “Author Tohnyonah,” she wound up discovering that love in her family came disguised in abuse, alcohol, drugs, staying in the homes of several family members.

A MUST READ — A 62-page, self-published project that depicts the life of a young girl who wanted to be loved by her family, but according to the writer who’s widely known as “Author Tohnyonah,” she wound up discovering that love in her family came disguised in abuse, alcohol, drugs, staying in the homes of several family members.

As if those personal encounters weren’t enough to rattle and disrupt the life of this young girl, Tohnyonah recalled having been molested as a child, a development that had ultimately led to her being adopted by another family, which unfortunately had given way to her further being molested and abused.

But God…

However, despite her assortment of struggles and turbulence, Author Tohnyonah steadfastly clung to unwavering faith, believing that God had a strategic plan for her life from the outset, a plan to prosper and not harm her, a plan that would ultimately blossom into a life-changing testimony for the ages, a plan that would catapult her to the purpose for which God created her.

“In this book, (Author Tohnyonah) sees that God’s loving provision doesn’t give more than one can handle,” said a spokesperson for Jackson’s book in a detail breakdown at Amazon.com.

THE ROMANS 8:18 FACTOR — Even upon the sudden deaths of her beloved mother and close aunt, Jackson sensed that she had to carry out of her God-mandated assignment to compose her book.

For Jackson, her quest to assemble her first book came courtesy of her abstaining from leaning unto her own understanding and seeking and consulting God for a sense of direction.

“I didn’t know what to write until I asked and the Holy Spirit, Who said, ‘The beginning,’” Jackson explained. “And so I did.”

Even upon the sudden deaths of her beloved mother and close aunt, Jackson sensed that she had to carry out of her God-mandated assignment to compose her book.

“I didn’t understand why (they passed away), because I was being obedient (to God),” Jackson said. So from August 2013 through May 2016, through all the losses, my book was released the day before my birthday, May 31, 2016.”

SHE’S STILL STANDING — Despite her assortment of struggles and turbulence, Author Tohnyonah steadfastly clung to unwavering faith, believing that God had a strategic plan for her life from the outset, a plan to prosper and not harm her, a plan that would ultimately blossom into a life-changing testimony for the ages, a plan that would catapult her to the purpose for which God created her.

Much to Jackson’s delight, it is a book that has garnered a slew of rave reviews.

“The message is you do not have to live in your past. Whatever God has taken you through, there is a purpose, so trust the process,” Jackson said. “While writing there were a lot of obstacles that fell in the way to discourage me, but as I wrote, chains were being broken. I was being released from the bondage of hurt, guilt, depression that I didn’t realize I was depressed.”

That’s not all to which Jackson had come to grips amid her season in the wilderness.

“(I learned to embrace) self-love and, most of all, I was gaining more love for God,” Jackson said. “I realize God created me for a special purpose starting with my name (she’s now chuckling). I live by I am fearfully marvelously made.”

All of which sums up why 2019, like 2016, figures to be a season of even more manifested blessings for this brilliantly gifted writer.

DOING IT GOD’S WAY — For Jackson, her quest to assemble her first book came courtesy of her abstaining from leaning unto her own understanding and seeking and consulting God for a sense of direction.

“I haven’t had any speaking engagements, but my vision for 2019 is to start going to speak in different cities to young teenage mothers, young girls in foster care, and young women and girls that have been sexually (abused) and feel like they can’t love,” Jackson said.

What a difference obeying the Voice of God has made.

All jokes aside.

MAJOR CAREER MILESTONE — In May 2018, Rhodes witnessed the much-anticipated release of her first book entitled, “The Nurse Echelon: A Victorious Nurse Anthology.”

For Rhodes, who currently resides in Tampa, her well-publicized track record as an RN has been nothing short of remarkable.

That’s because aside from customarily caring for and tending to those who are in dire need of medical help, Rhodes can be appropriately deemed a woman of many hats, considering she is a gifted author and public speaker.

In May 2018, Rhodes witnessed the much-anticipated release of her first book entitled, “The Nurse Echelon: A Victorious Nurse Anthology.”

Comprised of 220 pages, Rhodes’ “The Nurse Echelon: A Victorious Nurse Anthology” is centered mostly on the spiritually-enhancing subject that is victory, most notably how victory has been commonly defined as what she describes as the overcoming of an enemy or antagonist.

“In life, many of us have had to triumph over trials and tribulations to meet a particular goal in life,” said a spokesperson for Rhodes recently-released book at Amazon.com. “Those who do not allow hardships to defeat them have been known as overcomers. When it comes to becoming a nurse or enduring a nursing career, it is known that the schooling is rigorous, the work is tough, the shifts are long and there are some nights that we cannot sleep due to thinking about the shift before. This anthology was created to inspire women, nurses and future nurses to not give up when hard times come. You see, after the rain comes the sunshine.”

A pretty empowering synopsis of a scintillating written document that will be on display when Rhodes hosts her fourth book signing, this time on Saturday, October 20 at a Tampa-area Barnes And Noble.

“We’ll also be launching my 2nd Annual Nurses Book Drop, (during which) I (introduce) 10 nurses as authors,” Rhodes said. “Last year’s event was a huge success.”

A coaching business that went into full operations in November 2016, Rhodes emphasized, among other things, that her sustained success has come to fruition, courtesy of her fervent desire to esteem and inspire others daily.

TEAM RHODES — For Rhodes, who currently resides in Tampa, her well-publicized track record as an RN has been nothing short of remarkable. That’s because aside from customarily caring for and tending to those who are in dire need of medical help, Rhodes can be appropriately deemed a woman of many hats, considering she is a gifted author and public speaker.

“Having stayed the course and achieved my own dreams, I find joy in helping others attain theirs as well.” — Michelle Greene Rhodes

A business venture that mostly accommodates women ranging in ages 28 to 48, Rhodes has been afforded the golden opportunity to put her work-related gifts on display in a variety of places, even as far as in the Bahamas.

Interestingly, in May 2019, she will be empowering women in Paris, France along with internationally-acclaimed speaker, Cheryl Wood.

“Having stayed the course and achieved my own dreams, I find joy in helping others attain theirs as well,” Rhodes said.

Now we know why she’s fully aware of the purpose for which God has created her.

Accomplished Nashville author Raeshal Solomon completes her latest book in less than a week

MAKING HEADLINE NEWS WELCOMES RAESHAL SOLOMON

Raeshal Solomon is convinced that it is never too early to teach youngsters about the pros and cons of money.

“Parents need to understand that teaching their children about money can be easy and fun,” Solomon told Making Headline News during a recent interview. “They also need to know the importance of starting now.”

It is in large part because of these notable economic concepts that have greatly fueled Solomon’s desire to compose a book she senses will aid children mightily, particularly as it pertains to making wise monetary decisions as they mature in age.

MOM KNOWS BEST — A Nashville-area author, Raeshal Solomon is the mastermind behind the book entitled, “The 25 – 25 Strategies To Teach Your Child About Money,” her fourth published written document that was officially released on July 28.

A Nashville-area author, Solomon is the mastermind behind the book entitled, “The 25 – 25 Strategies To Teach Your Child About Money,” her fourth published written document that was officially released on July 28.

A book that is also known as “The 25,” Solomon’s latest project is a parent guide, of sorts, to teaching your children about money, courtesy of a book that has every day strategies, many of which any parent can use to make a complex subject like money fun and easy to talk about.

A book she began assembling approximately two months ago, Solomon — who technically has written somewhere in the neighborhood of two dozen  books — needed just six days to put the finishing touches on “The 25 – 25 Strategies To Teach Your Child About Money.”

“I wrote the first 4,800 words in only two days,” Solomon said. “After working with my editor, I was able to finalize the book in four more days.”

Surely, it’s safe to assume that it was 10 days well spent for this thriving, progressive writer, who also authored these published books: “Shop, Shop, Shop,” “Tim’s Red Rudy,” and “Gale’s Day of Giving.”

When asked what is the divine message she’s sending to her reading audience through her latest book, Solomon said, “My other books are tools to help parents, but they are children’s books focused on financial literacy as well.”

YOU GO GIRL!!! A book she began assembling approximately two months ago, Solomon — who technically has written somewhere in the neighborhood of two books — needed just six days to put the finishing touches on “The 25 – 25 Strategies To Teach Your Child About Money.”

As expected, the feedback since the release of “The 25” has been mostly favorable for this native of Johns Island, South Carolina.

“People love what I have created,” Solomon said. “They find my books to be helpful.”

Having recently wrapped up a book tour, during which former NFL player Darius A. Robinson had the pleasure of reading several of Solomon’s books to a gallery of elementary students, Solomon emphasized that the purpose for which God has created her as an author is to teach children about money while they are young.

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED — When asked what is the divine message she’s sending to her reading audience through her latest book, Solomon said, “My other books are tools to help parents, but they are children’s books focused on financial literacy as well.”

“We can raise more children who are givers and who are grateful,” Solomon said. “I honestly write what God places in my heart. I never know what He will give me next.”

Besides other forthcoming books, Solomon recently established a kids’ podcast called, “PodKash Kids,” which is geared largely toward what she describes as kid entrepreneurs.

Atlanta-area prep basketball standout Markus Lofton is as good as advertised as he auditions for a scholarship

EDITOR’S NOTE: This is the first of a series of reports on Berkmar High School basketball standout Markus Lofton as Making Headline News will chronicle his progress through his upcoming senior campaign.

Making Headline News earlier this week took some time to observe YouTube footage of Atlanta-area prep basketball standout Markus Lofton.

Yep, surely, the kid who’s widely known as “The Old Soul” and “The Silent Assassin” is as good as advertised, a trend a flurry of college scouts and recruiters will likely discover in this, Lofton’s forthcoming final full year of high hoops.

“Markus first started playing basketball when he was three years old,” said Marlon Lofton, Markus’ father. “He would not leave the house without a basketball jersey, wrist bands, and head band on.”

Ever since his parents first introduced him to basketball, Markus Lofton has been nothing short of brilliant, especially on the ever-so-competitive ATL hoops circuit.

A 6-foot swingman who helped propel Greg Phillips’ Berkmar High team to a third place region mark of 16-13 finish in 2017-18, Markus Lofton figures to raise his level of play in what undoubtedly will be a crucial campaign for him.

Crucial in the sense that he knows full well that he’s auditioning for a full ride scholarship, something he’s dreamt about since, well, he first picked up a basketball at tender age of three.

“They’ve been very encouraging and uplifting,” said Markus Lofton, explaining his parents’ immeasurable impact on rise as one of Berkmar’s marquee players. “They always persuade me to follow my dreams.”

SOLID SUPPORTING CAST — For what’s it worth, the Loftons are confident that given their son’s immeasurable track record on the court to date, the time and work he’s invested will surely pay off with arguably his grand prize — a full ride scholarship, coupled with a college basketball uniform.

And following diligently after his dreams is certainly what this basketball-crazed kid has done throughout the years.

Coming off of a stellar junior campaign in which he was afforded the golden opportunity to play significant roles both of the varsity and junior varsity squads, Markus Lofton held his own and, a majority of the time, he exceeded his own expectations.

WATCH MARKUS LOFTON IN ACTION: https://www.youtube.com/watch? v=BPzdPSgVf7Y&t=2s

For starters, he manufactured an impressive scoring average last year with 16 points per game along with four rebounds, while handing out five assists while being the only Berkmar player to see action both on JV and varsity. Add to the fact that he converted 91 percent of his free throws and shot an impressive 52 percent from three-point range, and it’s no wonder he’s already fallen under the radar of a handful of major Division 1 schools.

AUDITIONS UNDERWAY — According to Markus Lofton, Baylor, Stetson, Auburn, and Clemson are amongst the schools that have expressed interest in his services.

With others likely to follow, presuming his all-around game takes a significant upgrade this upcoming season.

According to Markus Lofton, Baylor, Stetson, Auburn, and Clemson are amongst the schools that have expressed interest in his services.

“It’s been a dream since I was younger,” Markus Lofton said of the possibility of playing major college basketball. “Basketball is all that I know and have studied, so it not being a dream wasn’t an option for me.”

As he prepares for his decisive prep season, Markus’ father, too, has stressed to his son the importance of not settling for the success he enjoyed last year. Rather, he deems it essential to often remind him on the importance of increasing his productivity and leadership qualities.

MORE OF MARKUS LOFTON IN ACTION: https://www.youtube.com/watch? v=MuYCATpagZ0&t=6s

“To whom much is given, much is required,” said Marlon Lofton, when asked what pertinent advice he often passes along his son, whose impressive basketball resume includes playing for the Georgia Tornadoes, G- Team USA and ATL Playmakers AAU squads. “I also tell him what his great grandmother told me: ‘Let the work you do, speak for you.’ I think this is why he is always in the gym. He doesn’t miss a day in the gym with his coaches or working on his game and training.”

HOOP DREAMS — For what’s it worth, the Loftons are confident that given their son’s immeasurable track record on the court to date, the time and work he’s invested will surely pay off with arguably his grand prize — a full ride scholarship, coupled with a college basketball uniform.

For what’s it worth, the Loftons are confident that given their son’s immeasurable track record on the court to date, the time and work he’s invested will surely pay off with arguably his long-awaited grand prize — a full ride scholarship, coupled with a college basketball uniform.

And everything else that comes with it.

“He is smart, witty, and wants to study Sports Management, Education, and Health outside of basketball,” said Marlon Lofton, adding that his son boasts what he deems a high IQ and exceptional wisdom. “With sports growing the way that it does, the door for him is wide open with major opportunities.

“My wife of 31 years and I believed that he loved the sport so much, he would sit and study the game, watching his older brother (Markele) who is a good player and has graduated from Georgia State University.”

DAD KNOWS BEST — “To whom much is given, much is required,” said Marlon Lofton, when asked what pertinent advice he often passes along his son, whose impressive basketball resume includes playing for the Georgia Tornadoes, G- Team USA and ATL Playmakers AAU squads. “I also tell him what his great grandmother told me: ‘Let the work you do, speak for you.’ I think this is why he is always in the gym. He doesn’t miss a day in the gym with his coaches or working on his game and training.”

If Markus Lofton’s has his way and continues to show he’s as good as advertised, the Lofton household will soon find itself going to more college basketball games in the near future.

So stay tuned.

As evidenced by all of that impressive YouTube footage of the kid who’s widely known as “The Old Soul” and “The Silent Assassin”.

Buffalo, New York’s Charles McCarley raising the bar, creating an exquisite legacy as the Senior Pastor of Tabernacle Of Praise Church

And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. (Matthew 16:18)

There’s no other way to put it.

Charles W. McCarley was only being forthright.

Or as the young people would say, he was only “keeping it 100.”

HANDPICKED BY GOD — It is, by all accounts, because of Elder Charles McCarley’s fervent desire to demonstrate love the way God specifically commands us that the historic Tabernacle Of Praise Church has become the beacon of light for which it is widely known in Buffalo, New York as well as throughout the Body of Christ.

“I became unsatisfied with ministry as usual,” McCarley, during an interview this week with Making Headline News, said, when asked when did sense that God was strategically preparing him for ministry. “I believed there had to be more to this then just church Sunday after Sunday.”

That, as a result, practically sums up why McCarley, 44, felt it was time to ask God for a broader sense of direction, to order his steps the more if you will…you know, to position and develop him so that he could, in turn, exemplify a proverbial monumental impact, particularly as it pertains to advancing the kingdom.

“I began to search for God and, within that search, it taught me how to love people and that sparked my heart toward the community,” McCarley explained. “Our church has to be community centered so that they can see the love of Christ through the people of God.”

It is, by all accounts, because of McCarley’s fervent desire to demonstrate love the way God specifically commands us that the historic Tabernacle Of Praise Church has become the beacon of light for which it is widely known.

GOD’S LEADING LADY — What’s even more intriguing, let alone an even greater blessing is that McCarley’s beloved companion, fellow Buffalo native Rachel M. McCarley, is right there alongside him, collectively helping him shepherd God’s people for such a time as now.

Located at 319 Northland Avenue in Buffalo, New York, Tabernacle of Praise appropriately accompanies what its beloved man servant labels a rather exclusive tag that reads: “Where wounded lives and broken hearts find new life in Christ Jesus.”

Amongst the grandest reasons for such a radiant spiritual catchphrase is that people — believers especially — are hurting and broken which, according to McCarley, means the church is the institution that has The Answer.

“Jesus!” this young, vibrant pastor says with such authority, knowing full well that only what he does for Christ will last.

That, of course, means also that because of who is and because of the divine calling on his life, McCarley doesn’t shy away from the notion that he’s been set aside for God’s use, to have a massive kingdom impact — even if it means doing so outside of the traditional walls of the church.

LEAST THEY FORGET — A church that was founded by the late Deborah Scott, whom McCarley describes as his godmother and “a dynamic woman of God who was called by the Lord and heard His voice,” it wasn’t until Scott had become stricken by cancer that McCarley began to witness God strategically thrust him to the forefront, during which he commenced to have more of a significant role in ministry.

How else to explain why even to this very day, Tabernacle of Praise is known mostly as a church whose mission is to serve its community and, most importantly, to ensure that it presents what McCarley describes as “continuous opportunities” for every man, woman, boy, and girl, or that message of hope, which is Jesus Christ.

A church that was founded by the late Deborah Scott, whom McCarley describes as his godmother and “a dynamic woman of God who was called by the Lord and heard His voice,” it wasn’t until after Scott had become stricken by cancer that McCarley began to witness God strategically thrust him to the forefront, during which the former Youth Pastor commenced to have more of a significant leadership role in ministry.

Tabernacle of Praise is known mostly as a church whose mission is to serve its community and, most importantly, to ensure that it presents what McCarley describes as “continuous opportunities” for every man, woman, boy, and girl, the message of hope, which is Jesus Christ.

“She founded Tabernacle Of Praise Church along with her husband Morris Scott,” McCarley said. “She worked this ministry until she became terminally ill with cancer. I didn’t know that she was ill. She didn’t tell me anything, but yet was setting me up for something special.”

The rest, as they say, was history.

That’s because the final months of Scott’s life had essentially proven to be a God-orchestrated defining moment, of sorts, for McCarley, considering he began to preach during the church’s early morning service.

Little did he know, however, God was yet working behind the scenes on his behalf while simultaneously preparing Tabernacle Of Praise for its founder’s ceremonious departure.

YES LORD!!!! “I am still working this vineyard and, oh the joys that I have experienced,” McCarley said. “But there is always that though that, ‘I wish that she was here to see what God has done in such a short time.’ I continue to honor my godmother and the legacy she left. To God be the glory.”

Scott, in fact, eventually lost her battle with cancer approximately seven months after McCarley began preaching during the church’s initial Sunday service.

“She and God had a plan I knew nothing about,” McCarley said. “The church was now familiar with me and told the Bishop that it was their desire to keep me as the new pastor when the time had come.”

Fortunately for McCarley, he’s been Tabernacle Of Praise’s most featured member for a little more than five years.

And counting.

“I am still working this vineyard and, oh the joys that I have experienced,” McCarley said. “But there is always that though that, ‘I wish that she was here to see what God has done in such a short time.’ I continue to honor my godmother and the legacy she left. To God be the glory.”

What’s even more intriguing, let alone an even greater blessing is that McCarley’s beloved companion, fellow Buffalo native Rachel M. McCarley, is right there alongside him, collectively helping him shepherd God’s people for such a pivotal time as now.

MEN OF VALOR — “I became unsatisfied with ministry as usual,” McCarley, during an interview this week with Making Headline News, said, when asked when did sense that God was strategically preparing him for ministry. “I believed there had to be more to this then just church Sunday after Sunday.”

“My family support system has been great,” McCarley said. “I couldn’t do this without them…first being my wife, who is a phenomenal vocalist, who sings and helps train others in our ministry in the art of music and has a great anointing over her life for women’s ministry. My mother has been one of the founding members of our church since the beginning. Even my 14-year-old daughter, Elissa McCarley, helps with some of our media and sings on the praise team.”

Given the solid, notable foundation that was established long before he was assigned to ministry, it’s no wonder McCarley is walking in his purpose with such boldness and authority.

With God, his Helper, steering the way.

LEADING GOD’S PEOPLE — Given the solid, notable foundation that was established long before he was assigned to ministry, it’s no wonder McCarley is walking in his purpose with boldness and authority — with God, his Helper, steering the way.

McCarley, in fact, is the product of a tradition-rich family of preachers, most notably Bishop Clint Roberts of First Born Apostolic Church in nearby Erie, Pennsylvania, Reverend Bernie McCarley, the Founder of St. John Baptist Church in Buffalo (one of city’s most prominent churches) and Devon McCarley, his sister who has a Master of Divinity.

“I have been in the church all of my life,” McCarley said. “I always had dreams of being a musician in the church and as I grew I pursued those dreams. My mother (Carolyn McCarley) was a hard worker, taking care of her family. My father (C. Dennis McCarley) was a strong, God-fearing man, who had great creativity and talents.  He was a father figure to many.”

MAKING MASSIVE KINGDOM STRIDES — Because of who is and because of the divine calling on his life, McCarley doesn’t shy away from the notion that he’s been set aside for God’s use to have a massive kingdom impact — even if it meant doing so outside of the traditional walls of the church.

Interestingly, what proved to be arguably the biggest difference while being raised in a Christian-oriented environment is that McCarley’s parents kept God the Focal Point of their family.

All of which practically explains why he’s having such a remarkable kingdom impact in this, the infancy stages of his pastoral tenure.

CHANGING A GENERATION — Located at 319 Northland Avenue in Buffalo, New York, Tabernacle of Praise appropriately accompanies what its beloved servant labels a tag that reads: “Where wounded lives and broken hearts find new life in Christ Jesus.”

“My parents put the fear of God and the love of God in me at a young age, believing that I had a purpose on my life at a very young age,” McCarley said. “With their investments in me, I became a talented drummer, traveling with a few jazz and gospel artists. Everything I know musically was birthed within the church.”

Most importantly, virtually every kingdom-based contribution he executes is a constant reminder, of sorts, as to why God thought it necessary five-plus years ago to assign McCarley to what undoubtedly is the grandest assignment of his young life.

And boy oh boy, he’s surely raising the bar, thus creating a remarkably exquisite legacy in the process.

With God, his Helper, steering the way.

There’s no other way to put it.

Longtime Maryland real estate professional Michelle Larkin has been nothing short of amazing during her illustrious career

Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil in the Lord is not in vain. (1 Corinthians 15:58)

To grasp a thorough concept of why longtime businesswoman Michelle Larkin’s reputation is such that she routinely demonstrates having a heart for people, look no further than her illustrious career, one that spans 15 years.

ABOUT HER BUSINESS — A native of Annapolis, the capital of Maryland that is located in Anne Arundel County — a historic establishment with a population of roughly 537,656 residents, according to latest U. S. census — Accomplished Maryland Businesswoman Michelle Larkin has become a fixture in the mortgage business and, given the immeasurable strides she’s made over the past decade-and-a-half, it’s safe to assume that her best and brightest days are well ahead of her.

“I tell my clients, ‘Believe in your dreams, and they may come true. Believe in yourself, and they will,’” Larkin told Making Headline News during an interview this week.

In Larkin’s case, “Believe in your dreams,” by all accounts, are the operative words for one of Waldorf, Maryland’s finest managers/loan officers in the ever-so-competitive real estate industry.

A native of Annapolis, the capital of Maryland that is located in Anne Arundel County — a historic establishment with a population of roughly 537,656 residents, according to latest U. S. census — Larkin has become a fixture in the mortgage business and, given the immeasurable strides she’s made over the past decade-and-a-half, it’s safe to assume that her best and brightest days are well ahead of her.

“I started my career as a realtor, then realized that I loved the money side of real estate, then pursued my mortgage originators license,” Larkin said.

The rest, as they say, was history.

SPREADING THE LOVE — Because Larkin, this beloved and passionate East Coast-based real estate professional remained steadfast, immovable, and always abound in the work of the Lord, knowing that her labor — and, of course, her labor of love — in the Lord was never in vain, she’s yet living out her dream, all the while helping others fulfill theirs in the process.

Since earning her mortgage originators license, this young, vibrant, resilient real estate professional has been nothing short of impressive.

Never mind that Larkin for a number of years prior to finding her niche in her professional had to persevere as a single mother.

“I have seen that struggle,” Larkin said. “I wanted more for my children, but also wanted to help and inspire others as well.”

To her credit, it was due in large part to Larkin’s unyielding love and support for others — mostly notably during her days as working in sales — that someone, in turned, deemed it essential to provide her with the necessary advice and drive she needed to take a leap of faith.

What a monumental leap it was.

“I was inspired by a co-worker to pursue real estate,” Larkin said. “This was in 2003. I love the end result of real estate, to see folks that thought they could not ever have a piece of the American Dream actually have that dream. Your home is where you will spend most of your time, raise your children, make memories, etc. It is a special life purchase.”

And, because Larkin, this beloved and passionate East Coast-based real estate professional remained steadfast, immovable, and always abound in the work of the Lord, knowing that her labor — and, of course, her labor of love — in the Lord was never in vain, she’s yet living out her dream, all the while helping others fulfill theirs in the process.

Credit Larkin’s former co-worker, Fran Shirey of nearby Grasonville, Maryland, as whom she labels “the No. 1 person” who reminded her time and again that she believed her.

FAMILY FOCUS — Larkin’s father, Ernest Wallace, an Annapolis-based entrepreneur, as well as her three sons and her uncle, the late Anthony Wallace, each have played in integral role in her sustained success in the real estate industry throughout the years.

“That has been 15 years ago,” Larkin said.

Larkin’s father, Ernest Wallace, an Annapolis-based entrepreneur, as well as her three sons and her uncle, the late Anthony Wallace, each have played an integral role in her sustained success in the real estate industry throughout the years.

“Last but not least, my clients, who put their trust in me guiding them through one of the biggest purchases, if not the biggest purchase of their lives,” said Larkin, paying homage to her biggest supporters.

A proud graduate of Annapolis’ Broadneck High School, Larkin advanced her education by enrolling at American InterContinental University in Atlanta. Currently, she is enrolled at Strayer University, where she is pursing a law degree to complement her real estate and business-related ventures.

EXERCISING HER FAITH — To her credit, it was due in large part to Larkin’s unyielding love and support for others — mostly notably during her days as working in sales — that someone, in turned, deemed it essential to provide her with the necessary advice and drive she needed to take a leap of faith. And what a monumental leap it was.

Interestingly, Larkin offers a grant program, which covers 3.5% down payment to her clients.

This program, she said, is an in-house grant entity and prospective home buyers must possess 640 credit score to qualify. Also, she said there are no outside classes to attend and prospective home buyers must be qualified while qualifying for a home loan.

“There is no age limit; any adult over 18 can purchase a home,” Larkin said.

She also announced that she will be hosting a forthcoming home buyer and personal credit workshop in her native home county of Anne Arundel, an event that is available for anyone who would like to improve their personal credit, purchase a home, and take advantage of her down payment grant program.

The workshop will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Mason Realty located at 7452 Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard, Suite 201B, in Glen Burnie, Maryland.

Also, Larkin has a host of workshops scheduled starting in March and will run through September, during which prospective home buyers can acquire home owner’s information for free.

“I love helping and educating people about the home buying and financial process,” Larkin said. “Many come to me with challenged credit and other issues, and helping them navigate and change their world is gratifying.”

Much like her illustrious career, one that spans 15 years.

And counting, of course.

Atlanta-area businesswoman Alandria L. Lloyd defies seemingly insurmountable odds, organizes a kingdom-advancing ministry

WALKING IN VICTORY — In spite of arguably the darkest and most disheartening chapters of her life, Atlanta-area businesswoman Alandria L. Lloyd, a devout woman of immeasurable faith, found peace and solace and spirital comfort in Almighty God, a life-enhancing trend that eventually fueled her desire to establish Change Agent Outreach Ministries, LLC.

There’s no other way to put it.

Alandria L. Lloyd, as she forthrightly tells it, was about to lose her mind at one point in time.

But God…

“After losing two children so close together, I was on the verge of losing my mind,” Lloyd, a 33-year-old Atlanta-area businesswoman, told Making Headline News during an exclusive interview this week. “But God kept me.”

Indeed He did.

For instance, He kept her in the wake of Lloyd having become a teenage mother for the first time at the tender age of age of 15, a development that sadly for her, resulted in the death of her premature born child after just two weeks of having given birth.

He kept her mightily approximately a year later after Lloyd had become pregnant once again, this time at 16 years of age, an occurrence that ultimately had given way to a teary-eyed and dejected young mother being left to bury an infant child yet again — all in a such short time frame.

PAYING IT FORWARD — A newly-erected ministry Lloyd founded in November 2017 and is powered by her A’Maya’s Army nonprofit organization, Change Agent Outreach Ministries’ chief objective is centered on serving single mothers, particularly those who have suffered the lost a child (or of children).

“She was stillborn,” Lloyd recalled.

Still, in spite of arguably the darkest and most disheartening chapters of her life, Lloyd, a devout woman of immeasurable faith, found peace and solace and spiritual comfort in Almighty God, a life-enhancing trend that eventually fueled her desire to establish Change Agent Outreach Ministries, LLC.

PAIN WITH A PURPOSE — By and large, Lloyd, whom admittedly “always had dreams the size of Texas,” doesn’t shy away from the notion that she customarily uses her pain as the spiritual fuel to catapult her to her purpose.

“My ministry is encouraging and mentoring mothers who have experienced a similar loss,” Lloyd, a native of Natalbany, Louisiana said.

Widely known as an accomplished author, mentor, and motivational speaker, Lloyd credits the perseverance, coupled with the bend-but-don’t-break faith she had to capture amid her babies’ deaths as the driving force that greatly enabled her to start what is shaping up to become a thriving, kingdom-advancing ministry.

“My competitive drive in life propelled me in my business, because I know that if I don’t go out and get it, no one else will do it for me,” Lloyd said. “My experience influenced me to start a ministry that serves that particular population.”

WOMAN OF MANY HATS — Widely known as an accomplished author, mentor, and motivational speaker, Lloyd credits the perseverance, coupled with the bend-but-don’t-break faith she had to capture amid her babies’ deaths as the driving force that greatly enabled her to start what is shaping up to become a thriving, kingdom-advancing ministry.

By and large, Lloyd, whom admittedly “always had dreams the size of Texas,” doesn’t shy away from the notion that she customarily uses her pain as the spiritual fuel to catapult her to her purpose.

The divine purpose for which God created her, that is.

“It is imperative that I encourage others daily, because I try to be to others what I wished I had for myself during my darkest seasons,” Lloyd said. “I inspire others, because I know what it is like to feel alone, abandoned, and misunderstood.”

Widely known as a woman of beauty who’s armed with an array of talents, Lloyd is a proud graduate of Delgado Community College, New Orleans, where she majored in General Studies.

Besides mentoring youths, she routinely assists aspiring authors to self-publish their books.

“My business caters to women of all ages,” Lloyd said. “Mostly millenials, but the ages vary.”

DEFYING ALL ODDS — Widely known as a woman of beauty who’s armed with an array of talents, Lloyd is a proud graduate of Delgado Community College, New Orleans, where she majored in General Studies.

As for her itinerary, Lloyd has a speaking engagement scheduled for January 27 in nearby Hammond, Louisiana during at a women’s empowerment brunch.

And, just recently she released a prayer journal entitled, “Fasting For Change,” an awe-inspiring written document that encourages people to incorporate fasting into their lives and to document their experiences during the fast.

“I try my best to uplift those who have been beaten down by the circumstances of life,” Lloyd said.

Because in case you haven’t gotten the memo, there’s no other way to put it.

Alandria L. Lloyd, as she forthrightly tells it, was about to lose her mind at one point in time.

But God…

Mid-South-area educator/motivational speaker Michael Scruggs named 2017 Making Headline News Man Of The Year

AN EXCLUSIVE MAKING HEADLINE NEWS 2017 FINALE SPECIAL REPORT

If Michael Scruggs has said it once, he’s said it a thousand times, mind you.

“Favor will do what your money cannot do,” Scruggs uttered once again during an exclusive interview this week with Making Headline News.

NATIONAL CHAMPION — In what was surely a banner year for the ages for the Memphis Central High and University of Memphis alum, news broke earlier this week of Memphian Michael Scruggs’ latest milestone when he was unanimously named Making Headline News 2017 Man of The Year.

To grasp a thorough concept of why Scruggs deems it essential to repeat before the masses an awe-inspiring catchphrase that seems to have become his figurative tattoo, of sorts, look no further than the slew of achievements and accolades he’s acquired throughout a 12-month stretch that undoubtedly will go down as arguably the best of his young life.

A native of Memphis, Scruggs emerged as one of the Mid-South’s most decorated educators-turned-motivational-speakers when he accumulated massive headlines amid his pre-teaching ritual during which he jogs around his classroom chanting “I Am Number One,” all as his students look on in complete wonderment.

To his credit, it is in large because of Scruggs’ spirited, never-say-die countenance that attracted the attention of various national media outlets around the country but, most importantly, it essentially and appropriately gave way to more favor for this brilliantly beloved young ordained minister.

And, in what was surely a banner year for the ages for this Memphis Central High and University of Memphis alum, news broke earlier this week of Scruggs’ latest milestone when he was unanimously named Making Headline News 2017 Man of The Year.

SIGN OF THINGS TO COME — Looking ahead, Scruggs doesn’t shy away from the notion that now is the not the time to settle and become relaxed while functioning in his element. Rather now is the time to “continue to allow the Lord to order my steps,” he stressed without hesitation.

As usual, Scruggs didn’t dare lean unto his own understanding while pausing to bask in the glory of the moment.

“The credit definitely goes to God,” Scruggs said after learning of his latest honor. “He is so awesome and amazing. I also credit my mom, because she always believed in me and kept me grounded in God…(Memphis) WREG and Michael Quander for doing a story on me which led to me going viral, my former teachers, mentors, family, friends and every young person I’ve had the pleasure of teaching, impacting and mentoring.”

In assessing this year, Scruggs said amongst his greatest highlights was witnessing his story be thrust on a national stage, most notably through the mainstream media when he generated headlines courtesy of ABC’s Good Morning America, CNN, CBS, as well as several other national and regional media outlets.

ALWAYS IN THE NEWS — In assessing this year, Scruggs said amongst his greatest highlights was witnessing his story be thrust on a national stage, most notably through the mainstream media when he generated headlines courtesy of ABC’s Good Morning America, CNN, CBS, as well as several other national and regional media outlets.

In addition, Scruggs earlier this year was a guest on the nationally syndicated The Ellen DeGeneres Show, a development that became the talk of the Bluff City.

“Receiving validation for the work I have been doing behind the scenes with my students for years and being able to bless and impact more young people by proving them with funds and the resources they needed for college,” said Scruggs, when asked to recall a few of his most cherished memories of 2017. “And being able to take my motivational speaking to another level.”

Looking ahead, Scruggs doesn’t shy away from the notion that now is the not the time to settle and become relaxed while functioning in his immeasurable element. Rather, now is the time to “continue to allow the Lord to order my steps,” he stressed without hesitation.

NATIONAL TELEVISION APPEARANCE — Scruggs earlier this year was a guest on the nationally syndicated The Ellen DeGeneres Show, a development that became the talk of the Bluff City.

Interestingly, amongst Scruggs’ said his notable ambitions in the foreseeable future is to release his new book, travel around the country for speaking engagements, continue to have a monumental impact on the lives of youths, as well as open a refuge facility for troubled youths at an establishment that has to be determined.

“People see your glory, but they don’t understand your glory,” Scruggs said. “I grew up in the projects, watching others have things that I wanted. I went through so much before all of this happened that I wanted to give up on life.”

Much to his delight, something called favor had ultimately swarmed and overtook his young life much like…well…a potent defensive unit blitzing a quarterback.

Consequently, that’s when Scruggs began to witness and savor the much-anticipated change he desperately sought.

“I told myself that when God blesses me, I’m going to give back,” Scruggs said. “I believe that it takes faith to step out on nothing and to believe that something is there.”

FLOODGATES OF FAVOR — To his credit, it is in large because of Scruggs’ spirited, never-say-die countenance that not attracted the attention of various national media outlets around the country but, most importantly, it essentially and appropriately gave way to more favor for this brilliantly beloved young ordained minister.

After all, if he’s said it once, he’s said it a thousand times, mind you.

“Favor will do what your money cannot do,” Scruggs said.

For probably the umpteenth time.

But who’s really keeping count anyway?
