Quincy, Massachusetts-based businesswomen defy greatest of odds, collectively establish a thriving venture

Donya. Alina.

Alina. Donya.

Together, they deemed it essential a little more than a year ago to combine their immeasurable business-related skills and establish a credible, thriving, progressive venture, one that figures to benefit others mightily in this ever-so-competitive entrepreneurship industry.

MAKING THEIR DREAMS REALITIES — Donya Zimmerman and Alina Lopez Thomas are the proud founders of the Ultimate Biz Conference (or UBC), their Quincy, Massachusetts-based venture they organized for the sole purpose of combining their resources as a unique, strategic way grow what they described as their mutual businesses.

“The purpose of the Conference is to educate aspiring entrepreneurs and small businesses on the importance of building a strong legal and financial foundation to sustain their business,” Donya Zimmerman told Making Headline News during a recent interview.

The Conference to which Zimmerman and Alina Lopez Thomas are alluding is the Ultimate Biz Conference (or UBC), their Quincy, Massachusetts-based venture they organized for the sole purpose of combining their resources as a unique, strategic way grow what they described as their mutual businesses.

CHILL MODE — According Zimmerman and Thomas, UBC is extremely credible and beneficial in that it is widely regarded as an effective, rewarding, life-enhancing networking event to attend.

An up-and-coming business that essentially is in its infancy stages, the Ultimate Biz Conference’s chief objective is geared largely toward educating entrepreneurs on how to cover their assets while running the day-to-day operations of their respective business.

According Zimmerman and Thomas, UBC is extremely credible and beneficial in that it is widely regarded as an effective, rewarding, life-enhancing networking event to attend.

MORE ON UBC: www.ultimatebizconference.com

“As a networking event, one is able to connect with potential business partners and collaborators to grow your business,” Thomas said.

For what it’s worth, credit the competitive drive of this dream team tandem of businesswomen that greatly fueled their desire to erect what undoubtedly is a rather appealing business for like-minded entrepreneurs.

Both of whom admittedly were once hampered by fear and frustration over the state of their respective careers, Zimmerman and Thomas had ultimately felt a divine connection, of sorts, given their similar business-oriented backgrounds.

As a result and much to their delight, it’s safe to assume that not only were they on to something potentially profitable but, most importantly, it seemed that one favorable thing had led to another.

Having been forced to unceremoniously vacate the careers they loved dearly and gave their “whole lives” to, the co-founders of UBC were — as they explained — backed into a corner, unable to find full-time employment anywhere.

Still, in spite of the few stumbling blocks they encountered while trying to re-invent themselves, there arose a silver lining, of sorts which, fortunately for them, practically sums up why their entrepreneurship tandem makes all of the sense in the world.

These business duo, in fact, don’t shy away from the notion that they had no choice but to turn their gifts and talents into a profitable business.  Having initially crossed paths at during an event in Quincy, Zimmerman and Thomas had collectively come to grips that forming the Ultimate Biz Conference was absolutely essential.

So here they are today, basking in the glory of the moment, one about which they are responsible for starting in the first place.

By and large, amongst the things about which Ultimate Biz Conference has done for Zimmerman and Thomas is afford them the golden opportunity to use their failures as a teaching tool, of sorts, a trend from which aspiring entrepreneurs can learn.

Also, their Ultimate Biz Conference 2018 will be held on April 19-21 in nearby White Plains, New  York at the Cambria Hotel And Suites. Accompanied by the theme, Think Like a CEO and Act Like a CEO, this 2 ½-day conference will prepare aspiring entrepreneurs to open their business doors in 2018 and beyond.  Tickets for the event can be purchased at www.ultimatebizconference.com.

“What I like most about being in my own business is simple,” Thomas said. “Doors that were previously shut have now been opened.  My mind has expanded into a different field and I’m the product of my mission.  The building of business relationships and making connections with other like-minded individuals.”

NATIONAL IMPACT — A nationally-acclaimed business that is enjoying considerable growth since its much-anticipated inception on November 15, 2017, UBC caters mostly to aspiring entrepreneurs who are ready to start their own business or individuals who have been in business for less than five years, not to mention a business that is in need of a much-needed makeover, Zimmerman and Thomas emphasized.

Zimmerman essentially echoed that about which Thomas eloquently professed.

“I love the fact that I have been able to turn my mess of losing my law practice into a powerful message of redemption,” Zimmerman said. “I have been able to ensure that aspiring entrepreneurs learn the importance of covering their assets while in business.  Also, I’ve been able to educate small businesses on how to be prepared for the what-ifs in business.”

PASSING ALONG WHOLESOME KNOWLEDGE — By and large, amongst the things about which Ultimate Biz Conference has done for Zimmerman and Thomas is afford them the golden opportunity to use their failures as a teaching tool, of sorts, from which aspiring entrepreneurs can learn.

Moreover, because of this ever-so-popular social media era, the UBC founders have been able to witness and savor continuous progress with their business, which means its best and brightest days are well ahead of it.

“(Our) mission is to turn the Ultimate Biz Conference into an international phenomenon where we will create a world full of entrepreneurs and small business owners,” Zimmerman and Thomas said. “One goal of Ultimate Biz Conference is to help individuals understand that they are in control of their own destiny when it comes to becoming small business owners.”

Just as this solid tandem of businesswomen were when they elected to join forces and establish what is shaping up to be a thriving, booming venture.

Talk about controlling their own destiny.

“A MAKING HEADLINE NEWS SUPER BOWL WEEKEND EXCLUSIVE”

EDITOR’S NOTE: This is the first of Making Headline News’ two-part series on Delaware author and businesswoman Vanessa Johnson Brinkley.

Just past the bottom of the 11 o’clock hour EST Friday night, Prophetess Vanessa Johnson Brinkley took to her Facebook page to enlighten her 4,900-plus social media friends about the latest developments surrounding her success as an accomplished author.

“(In) Walking In My Identity, my chapter entitled, ‘Mistaken Identity, Lost Identity, Resurrected Identity: There Is Resurrection In Tragedies,’ were started in October 2017 and finished in December 2017,” said Johnson Brinkley, providing her readers with a preview of what they can expect in her forthcoming project.

By and large, amongst the things about which Johnson Brinkley is thoroughly convinced is that the purpose for which she assembled her books have — and are — being fulfilled.

“There is so much more to salvation than the born again experience,” Johnson Brinkley said. “There is life where you experience nothing missing and nothing broken in spite of what’s going on around you.  For Walking In My Identity, the divine message from my chapter is to not allow the tragedies in your life to define who you are.”

Atlanta-area author Anika Ennett heeds advice of stepfather, assembles three compelling books

As the old catchphrase goes, “Mom knows best.”

For Anika Ennett, she can greatly attest that perhaps “Stepfather knows best” as well.

TRIO OF SUCCESS — Regardless of her circumstances at the time, what mattered, really, is that Virginia-based Author Ennett not only heeded the advice of her stepfather, but she took his words and wisdom and essentially ran with them. So much, in fact, that she has managed to author not one, not two, but three books.

Consider, for instance, how many years ago, Ennett recalls vividly an in-depth conversation she had with her stepfather whom, much to her delight, played an integral role with regards to helping her connect with her vision as an accomplished author.

“During that conversation, he said, “You should write a book one day,’” Ennett, who resides in Atlanta, said this week during an interview with Making Headline News. “And I said, ‘I have no idea how to write a book.’ And he said, ‘Just write…don’t worry about format, just write.’  Fast forward many years later and the thought came back up during a time when things were not at their best.”

Regardless of her circumstances at the time, what mattered, really, is that Ennett not only heeded the advice of her stepfather, but she took his words and wisdom and essentially ran with them.

So much, in fact, that she has managed to author not one, not two, but three books.

In June 2015, for instance, she witnessed the much-anticipated release of her first book entitled, He S.A.W. Me!  Saved, Anointed & Walks With Me, a compelling written document that depicts a vital chapter in Ennett’s life, most notably the assortment of challenges she endured during the past three decades or so. In a detailed synopsis of Ennett’s book at Amazon.com, it reveals that her slew of testimonies surfaces largely as a result of her walk through what she describes as many dark days, not knowing who she was, all while pressing and navigating her way through the pain of rejection on many levels — low self-esteem being one of them — en route to her fully connecting with a newfound disposition on life (most notably what she labels a new perspective of how God sees her).

Then in September 2017, she authored the book entitled, Sometimes Life Has No Chill, which is a rather intriguing, provocative devotional dedicated to teenage girls.

According to an Amazon.com spokesperson for Ennett’s Sometimes Life Has No Chill, this book is widely regarded as an interactive, daily devotional, of sorts, one that addresses real life issues, all while offering solutions and allowing youths to reflect on their decisions, thus taking accountability for their own actions.

“I want our youth to get in the habit of thinking situations completely through and making informed decisions when it comes to their lives,” Ennett said of her second book.

Then there is Ennett’s latest book entitled, The Struggle Is Real: Healing For Survival, which officially made its presence on the market just last month.

“Just when you thought you had it all together, you know that you have changed, because you have the scars to prove it,” Ennett writes in a description of her latest book at Amazon.com. “Now, you’re ready to go forward in life in your marriage, business, ministry, job etc., but something else happens. Not only are you angry because you feel betrayed, but you’re confused because you are feeling some of those old emotions from the past that you knew you had taken care of.”

With three books — and counting — under her belt, Ennett doesn’t shy away from the notion that she is presently walking in the purpose for which God created her.

After all, mom knows best.

And so does stepdad as she had ultimately discovered.

“I still didn’t know where to start, because I was broken inside and I remember constantly praying and asking God to send someone in my life that could teach me more about God and He did just that,” Ennett, a native of Philadelphia, explained.

GOD’S SPOKESPERSON — As for the direct messages she aims to send to her reading audience, Ennett said, “One of the most important messages that I’m trying to get across is that women don’t have to suffer in silence and shame.  Shame keeps most people from receiving healing and that is a lie straight from the enemy.  You may have heard (the saying) ‘We are only as sick as our secrets’ So often as women, we try to live up to the expectations of society, our spouses, family and will turn ourselves inside out, just to be accepted.  Women are emotional creatures and we absorb so much from the world and when you are not healed from past experiences, it results in a mess. “

Interesting, the more godly wisdom she acquired, the more she began to witness her gift for writing come to fruition.

“I met a strong woman of God that began to teach me about God and who helped me tremendously during some of the most challenging times in my life,” Ennett said. “The prophetess encouraged me, walked with me, and confirmed a lot of things about me and helped me to see the gifts that the Lord had given me. All it took was encouragement, teaching and building my relationship with God.”

As for the direct messages she aims to send to her reading audience, Ennett said, “One of the most important messages that I’m trying to get across is that women don’t have to suffer in silence and shame.

GOOD OLE DAD — Ennett recall vividly an in-depth conversation she had with her stepfather whom, much to her delight, played an integral with regards to helping her connect with her vision as an accomplished author.

“In addition to that, we want to fix everything and everybody but never want to fix ourselves,” Ennett continued. Unfortunately, sometimes we become martyrs and then become weighed down with the pressures of the world and then we don’t take time out to deal with the things that are tearing us down.”

When asked in what ways has her books become part of the purpose for which God has created her, Ennett, as forthrightly as she could be, wasted little time paying homage to her Creator.

“These books have taught me that I’m not a lost cause, neither are any other women that may be having a difficult time,” Ennett said. “The transparency that I display in my books foster an environment of understanding and it breaks the wall of shame down. My goal is to encourage other women to get healing and to stop hiding behind the pain.  The goal of the teen devotional is to open a dialogue between a daughter and her mother and guardian.”

Because after all, as the old catchphrase goes, “Mom knows best.”

Then aganin, for Anika Ennett, she can greatly attest that perhaps “Stepfather knows best” as well.

Montgomery, Alabama author Dr. April Jones honors her father’s civil rights legacy, writes his extraordinary biography

A MAKING HEADLINE NEWS BLACK HISTORY MONTH SPECIAL REPORT

Say this about Dr. April Jones: She undoubtedly cherishes her father.

Never mind the discussion that transpired between Dr. Jones’ parents months before she was born.

DADDY’S LITTLE GIRL — Montgomery, Alabama author and businesswoman Dr. April Jones is the mastermind by the book, The Biography of Mose Jones Jr., Lawrence County Commissioner District 1: A Seed of the Foot Soldiers Bloody Sunday, March and the Voting Rights Act of 1965. One year removed from its official release, Dr. Jones’ book depicts her father’s life from the mid-1980s, during which he rose to prominence for his role in bringing voting rights to those who needed it most: the disadvantaged citizens of Lawrence County.

During a recent interview with Making Headline News, Dr. Jones, a Montgomery, Alabama-based businesswoman, spoke at length about how her father, renowned and longtime politician Mose Jones, Jr., once attempted to persuade her mother to abort her birth, in large because he could not afford to take care of another child.

By and large, it is an emotionally-driven, life-changing story about Dr. Jones admittedly doesn’t mind sharing, considering she and her father have established a close-knit relationship throughout the years.

So much, in fact, that Dr. Jones deemed it essential to chronicle by way of an awe-inspiring book the life of her beloved father, whom is widely regarded as the man who was amongst the first blacks to carry on the Civil Rights movement in Alabama, particularly after the immeasurable work of such foot soldiers as Dr. Martin Luther, King, Jr.

“The single, (most) underlying reason I chose to produce the book was to honor my father and tell his important part of history,” said Dr. Jones, a native of Town Creek, Alabama, a rural establishment that is comprised of roughly 1,100 residents, according to the latest U. S. census.

The book to which she is alluding is entitled, The Biography of Mose Jones Jr., Lawrence County Commissioner District 1: A Seed of the Foot Soldiers Bloody Sunday, March and the Voting Rights Act of 1965.

A book that made its much-anticipated presence on the market a little more than a year ago, — January 11, 2017 to be technical — Dr. Jones’ book depicts her father’s life from the mid-1980s, during which he rose to prominence for his role in bringing voting rights to those who needed it most: those disadvantaged citizens of Lawrence County.

Interestingly, long before Dr. Jones’ father had evolved into the beloved and motivating political servant for whom he is widely known, he had become a notable, big-hearted man of devout faith and a loving father, according to a spokesperson for her book in a detailed description at Amazon.com.

VISION UNFOLDED — Dr. Jones had adopted the vision for composing The Biography of Mose Jones Jr., Lawrence County Commissioner District 1: A Seed of the Foot Soldiers Bloody Sunday, March and the Voting Rights Act of 1965, most notably while her father was giving a rather inspiring and memorable speech, during which he spoke eloquently having the importance of such a remarkable honor.

A Lawrence County Commissioner for District 1 whom, long before he surfaced on the political landscape, had been mentored by a profound coach and teacher — whom many considered the most prominent black political leader in the county — the then-young Jones, Jr. had become knowledgeable of servant leadership, particularly the significance of how to play an integral part in bringing hope to his community.

To his credit, Jones, Jr.’s valiant contributions as a public servant had ultimately given way to him having received a commendable, notable award during the Selma 50th Jubilee Fruit Of The Labor Luncheon that was hosted by the National Congress of Black Women (the Birmingham Metro Chapter).

Consequently, Dr.

MAKING MASSIVE HISTORY — A Lawrence County Commissioner for District 1 whom, long before he surfaced on the political landscape, had been mentored by a profound coach and teacher — who was the most prominent black political leader in the county — the then-young Jones, Jr. had become knowledgeable of the significance of servant leadership, particularly how to play an integral part in bringing hope to his community.

“When my father received his award and made his speech, I was touched and inspired to hear why he was so honored to get this award,” Dr. Jones said. “I never seen my father almost cry and give such an emotional speech.”

And never mind all of the past chitter chatter about aborting her birth.

What matters at this point, really, is that Dr. Jones and her father have established an inseparable, loving bond that quite frankly, no one can merely separate.

“At that moment, I felt more honored to be his daughter, holding back my tears,” Dr. Jones said of her father’s inspiring, tear-jerking speech for the ages. “I thought (it came in my spirit) we should get a book written about my father.”

The rest, as they say, was history.

“When my father and I were riding home on the highway (U. S. Highway 80) where the foot soldiers walked from Selma to the Montgomery March, we talked about what happened for him to get into office and I said, ‘You know, father, we should write a book about your story,'” Dr. Jones recalled.

Much to her delight, her father was all for it — was all for embracing and supporting the vision and purpose for which God created his daughter.

“He says, ‘Okay, but I’m not Martin Luther King, Jr. or any of those great foot soldiers I am not sure how many people want to hear my story,’” Dr. Jones explained. “Nevertheless, he agreed that we could write a book as long as I wrote it. In fact, he later shared that many people approached him to write a book and he refused. He told me he was so proud and honored that (his) very own daughter will write (a book about him).”

A 170-page written document that specifically recalls a vital portion of history, Dr. Jones emphasized that her book had to come to fruition, in large part because she was somewhat unsettled in that her father had not received much recognition, coupled with the fact that he was so proud of his award.

An accomplished entrepreneur who is the owner and chief executive officer of the Montgomery-based Visionary Consulting Services, LLC, a credible coaching and consulting services, Dr. Jones began writing her father’s biography shortly after the Jubilee.

“To this day, he talks about it and even had an article written about it,” Dr. Jones said of a book that is still attracting a wave of media attention. “I love my father, and I appreciate what he did to make a change on a local level for our community and all constituents in his county. The book details many challenges and triumphs.”

An accomplished entrepreneur who is the owner and chief executive officer of the Montgomery-based Visionary Consulting Services, LLC — a credible coaching and consulting services firm — Dr. Jones began writing her father’s biography shortly after the Jubilee.

Interestingly, in the wake of having jotted down an assortment of notes from their frequent conversations, she deemed it essential to hire a freelancer to develop what she described as “structured questions” during which she would then interview roughly 50 people about her father and his well-publicized legacy.

The first draft of the book, she said, was completed in approximately three months.

“However, it was a dull read,” said Dr. Jones, “so I hired another freelance writer to make it more appeasing to read.”

DESTINY STEPS — What matters at this point, really, is that Dr. Jones and her father have established an inseparable bond that quite frankly, no one can merely separate.

As it turned out, though, that development had eventually gave way to Dr. Jones needing an additional five months to finish the book, which was finally published in January 2017.

The rest, as they say, was history.

And never mind all of the past chitter chatter about aborting her birth.

What matters at this point, really, is that Dr. Jones and her father have established an inseparable, loving bond that quite frankly, no one can merely separate.

“The night of the Jubilee, he said that if he had allowed satan to convince him and my mother to abort me, I would have never served one of my many purposes, (which was) writing his book,” Dr. Jones said. “I never thought I would write so many books, but it was prophesied to me by Evangelist Debra Ward that I would write many books and travel the world as a part of my purpose God created for me. I have done just that.”

All while cherishing and honoring her beloved father in the process.

Chesapeake, Virginia author Charmin Y. Anderson writes awe-inspiring book, quickly emerges on Amazon Best Seller list

We who are strong ought to bear with the failings of the weak and not to please ourselves. (Romans 15:1)

For what’s it worth, Charmin Y. Anderson is widely regarded as a person who goes to great lengths to reach back and diligently aid others to reconnect with their God-given worth, all while maximizing their full potential.

VISION UNFOLDING — Once a domestic abuse victim who can fully attest what it’s like to defy arguably the toughest of odds, author Charmin Y. Anderson, during an interview this week with Making Headline News, spoke in detail about how God had strategically given her the vision to make her much-anticipated authorship debut, one that was culminated with the inspiring book entitled, Behind My Smile: Every Woman’s Worst Nightmare.

Credit her emotional, life-enhancing testimony as the single, most underlying reason why.

Once a domestic abuse victim who can fully attest what it’s like to defy arguably the toughest of odds, Anderson, during an interview this week with Making Headline News, spoke in great detail about how God had strategically given her the vision to make her much-anticipated authorship debut, one that was culminated with the  inspiring book entitled, Behind My Smile: Every Woman’s Worst Nightmare.

Powered by Cannon Publishing, Anderson’s Behind My Smile: Every Woman’s Worst Nightmare depicts this writer’s assortment of tear-jerking experiences, most notably those whereby the victims’ gruesome and dreaded circumstances could potentially lead to them making the kind of choices that could ultimately cause their paths in life to change substantially, as mentioned in a detailed description of Anderson’s book at Amazon.com.

“Regardless, it takes unwavering courage to be able to admit that the choices you chose that impacted the lives of the people you love the most were wrong,” said a spokesperson for Anderson’s book that was officially released in September 2017.

All things considered, what’s so astounding about Anderson’s Behind My Smile: Every Woman’s Worst Nightmare is that her 68-page written document is dominated by an array of transparency, a trend she’s persuaded will enrich and inspire others mightily, especially those who share similar encounters as this New Jersey-born writer and businesswoman.

“Truth is, hiding behind my choices caused more pain than being honest,” Anderson explained. “I allowed fear to marinate and take root in places in my life because keeping secrets was a program that was embedded in me years ago. However, every program can be rewritten and updated.”

KEEPIN’ IT REAL — All things considered, what’s so astounding about Anderson’s Behind My Smile: Every Woman’s Worst Nightmare is that her 68-page written document is dominated by an array of transparency, a trend she’s persuaded will aid and inspire others mightily, especially those who share similar encounters as this New Jersey-born writer.

Regardless, Anderson, even to this very day, can boldly profess that she has reaped the favorable results she so desperately sought, thanks in large part to her quest to conquer and outlast the spirit of fear.

“Program Fear has been terminated and replaced with the program called Freedom,” Anderson customarily says with such humility and humbleness.

More than anything, Anderson emphasized, she’s destined to help impact lives through her new book — you know, to bear the infirmities of the weak, as God’s commands us through His life-enhancing word.

“I want to let every woman who has been through domestic violence or any form of abuse to know that they are not alone,” said Anderson, who currently resides in Chesapeake, Virginia. “In my book, I opened up and became vulnerable to the world by standing up against fear.”

As for the feedback she’s garnered since the release of her new project, it’s safe to assume that Anderson surely did not disappoint, considering she was thrust upon the Amazon Best Seller list within a span of roughly 15 minutes after the release of her book.

“Everyone who has given me feedback loved it,” Anderson said. “(And) I have been booked multiple times for speaking engagements.”

Interestingly, Anderson announced that her second book is presently in the works. The title: When Dead Flowers Still Bloom.

YOU GO GIRL!!! As for the feedback she’s garnered since the release of her new project, well, it’s safe to assume that Anderson surely did not disappoint, considering she was thrust upon the Amazon Best Seller list within a span of roughly 15 minutes after the release of her book.

Also, her latest speaking engagement pertaining to her book is scheduled for this weekend in Charlotte at the Unmasking The Truth About Domestic Violence event.

“My assignment is to help others help others by sharing my story,” Anderson said. “Telling my story is a struggle and I still cry sometimes. But if I can inspire and empower someone to help someone else, then a community of movement takes place. What would happen if we could activate and build a movement of movement?”

Not to mention bear the infirmities of the weak, as God’s commands us through His life-enhancing word?

Four-time Amazon bestselling author Elona Washington making her presence felt courtesy of two awe-inspiring books

If you listen to Elona Washington talk long enough about her successful tenure as an accomplished, progressive author then, chances are, it wouldn’t take very long to grasp the notion that writing is something about which she had become passionate since she was too young to remember.

A TRUE INSPIRATION — A native of Washington, D. C., Author Elona Washington deemed it essential to finally share of her emotional, yet spiritually gut-checking experiences through her featured book entitled, From Ivy League To Stripper Life, a memoir that chronicles how her life spiraled out of control, coupled with the valiant lessons she learned along the way. Washington was also the catalyst of How Divorce Became My Deliverance, a September 2017 released anthology that Washington assembled along with a number of other accomplished authors.

“I was given the vision to tell my story as a kid and I would start but never finish,” Washington told Making Headline News during an interview this week. “I was too scared.”

Out of fairness to Washington, there is, by all accounts, a rather justifiable reason why she spent a better portion of her life gripped and saddled by fear.

“I’ve been a victim of child sex abuse since the age of five,” Washington said without hesitation. “The abuse first occurred in (Washington) D. C., and it happened again when my sister and I went to live with our mom in Princeton (New Jersey).”

As Washington vividly recalls, she encountered as many as 10 sexual abusers by the time she had turned 10 or, as she disclosed, men and boys from two different cities, all of whom never knew each other, a few of whom were well over 30 years of age.

A 138-page written document that officially hit the market in June 2016, Washington’s From Ivy League To Stripper Life also recalls her assortment of childhood memories, most notably those true stories from within the walls of the dreaded strip club, as well as resourceful tips and life lessons she eloquently offers to every wife, mother, and single woman.

“In these pages, you may even discover that it’s possible what you’re going through has been assigned to you,” said a spokesperson in a detailed description of Washington’s book at Amazon.com.

STILL SHE RISE — Interestingly, Washington sensed that because of the constant sexual abuse she endured as a child, she wasn’t merely equipped to become a product of her environment, particularly as it relates to advancing her education on what many consider to be college’s biggest stage.

All things considered, Washington, a native of D. C., admittedly sensed that all of her sexual abuse encounters were self-manufactured.

“I thought the abuse was my fault,” Washington said with a straight face and without hesitation. “There was something about me that made men want to have sex with me. “I thought I wasn’t protected and favored by God, so and I was meant to be nothing but a stripper.”

Interestingly, Washington sensed that because of the constant sexual abuse, she wasn’t merely equipped to become a product of her environment, particularly as it relates to advancing her education on what many consider to be college’s biggest stage.

“I wasn’t smart like my Ivy League mom and stepdad,” Washington said. “My younger sister was just as smart and it made me feel like I didn’t belong.”

And then there is Washington’s latest book entitled, How Divorce Became My Deliverance, a September 2017 released anthology that Washington assembled along with a number of other accomplished authors.

SIGN OF THINGS TO COME — A four-time award-winning bestselling author, Washington has announced that other books are on the horizon much sooner than later.

Generally, because researchers estimate that marriages have somewhere in the neighborhood of a 50 percent survival rate, Washington and eight other divorcees have joined forces to share how they collectively mourned the loss of their marriage and ultimately conquered their pain, as revealed in a detailed description of this 157-page anthology.

“As long as we have breath in our bodies, we will experience pain,” said Washington, explaining the divine message she aspires to send to her audience through her books. “The divine message is that you can live free from the pain of your past. We can’t run from it or suppress it. When you do, it shows up as anger, depression, etc., and that has the ability to affect every area of your life.”

After all, Washington specifically emphasized, chronic anger, coupled with resentment can greatly affect one’s physical health, thus causing heart disease, high blood pressure,  some form of a  stroke and, perhaps insomnia.

“Learning to let it go helps us to live freely,” Washington said.

When asked in what ways her books align with the purpose for which God has created her, Washington said, “There are no accidents. God chose me to go through it all. But He also gave me the strength and courage to endure and share my story to help others.”

More than anything, Washington reiterated, sharing her slew of experiences essentially infused within her the keen ability to break the dreaded generational curses that include, among other things, single motherhood and teen pregnancy.

SET ASIDE FOR GOD’S USE — When asked in what ways her books align with the purpose for which God has created her, Washington said, “There are no accidents. God chose me to go through it all. But He also gave me the strength and courage to endure and share my story to help others.”

“My daughter is married and (she and her husband) have yet to start a family,” Washington said. “I believe this was because I always practiced age-appropriate transparency with her. I taught her how to keep safe and to tell me if anyone made her feel uncomfortable. We always had a good relationship and she knew she could confide in me.”

A four-time Amazon award-winning bestselling author, Washington has announced that other books are on the horizon much sooner than later.

“I’m thinking about compiling another anthology and another book, but right now, I designed a course for survivors,” Washington said. “It’s called ‘Survivor’s Breakthrough,’ and is a system designed for survivors to find healing, strength and the power to live a life free from the pain of their past.”

If anyone is interested in participating in the course, Elona Washington can be reached via email at: elona@elonawashington.com.
