DeKosha Robinson had just about had enough and sensed that an immediate change was in order.
“After working in a call center for 6 ½ years and had not received a pay increase in over four years , I decided it was time to step out on faith and go full-time as a stylist,” Robinson told Making Headline News this week.
That Robinson essentially thought it necessary to get out of her own way and step out on faith through the purpose for which God created her has benefited her mightily in recent years.
Showing virtually no signs of one who was about to become a product of her environment, Robinson not only pursued that about which she had become aspired to do in life but, most importantly, she’s pursuing it in flying colors.
Today, unlike never before, Robinson can boldly profess that she is walking diligently in her calling as owner and chief executive officer of Blessed Hands By Kosha.
Located at 8240 Antoine Drive, Suite 103 B, Blessed Hands By Kosha is a credible beauty salon that has become a fixture for servicing clients throughout Houston’s populous Metroplex.
Armed with more than 15 years of experience in this ever-so-competitive cosmetology industry, Robinson’s Blessed Hands By Kosha is committed to creating a variety of hairstyles that “make you smile,” she emphasized.
In a nutshell, Blessed Hands By Kosha has enjoyed sustained success since its inception largely because of its commitment to enhancing clients’ beauty with natural looks, Robinson acknowledged.
That trend alone, she said, is amongst the key factors that proves why stepping out on faith has given way to her witnessing her gifts make room for her.
“I bounced back and forth, living with my grandmother and mother,” Robinson said.
As if stressing out over what were seemingly unstable living arrangements, Robinson had become pregnant at the tender age of 18, a development that unfortunately had ended in a miscarriage.
Still, despite an assortment of obstacles and hurdles about which she had the clear, Robinson sensed all along there was more to life than just getting pregnant at an early age and working for years as an underappreciated and underpaid call center supervisor.
To her credit, that is when she decided to appropriately take a thorough self-assessment of the overall landscape of her life, a much-needed evaluation that fueled her desire to better herself — with God, her Helper, leading the way.
“I began to live a fast night life and quit two months before my internship,” said Robinson, recalling the challenging events that transpired after she had become a medical assistant shortly after earning her diploma from Houston’s M.B. Smiley High School. “Later, I decided I wanted something more out of life and be a great role model for my sisters.”
Much to her delight, Robinson made good on her personal pledge sometime in 2009, during which she enrolled at Behold Beauty Academy in Northeast Houston.
That, by all accounts, is when she had effectively discovered her divine calling.
She hasn’t looked back since, all the while her witnessing and savoring a significant increase in her faith in the process.
“I love boosting women’s confidence and to seeing their beauty shine inside and out when they look in the mirror,” said Robinson, whose business services clients of all ages, but especially career driving women between ages of 30 and up, she emphasized.
For the record, there is a reason why Robinson has become ever so passionate about the industry to which God introduced her.
For the record, no one can tell her testimony the way she can.
So peep this.
“Growing up as a young girl, I suffered with identity issues, cystic acne, and acne scarring,” Robinson explained. “It wasn’t until about four years ago, I fell in love with myself. It’s important to me to stay positive and give as many compliments to my clients as I can…crack jokes, and acknowledge all clients’ concerns. With that combination, however, they felt before walking in the door (discouraged) is long gone when they take a look in the mirror.”
As Robinson said without hesitation, she credits God, her mother, grandmother, and her late great aunt, Earlene Williams, for having paved the way for her to exercise her faith in ways unimaginable, a trend that, fortunately for her, has blossomed into favorable results.
Today, unlike never before, Robinson can boldly profess that she is walking diligently in her calling.
“I thank God every day for His listening ear and changing my path in life and for placing the most amazing people for support,” said Robinson whom, to her credit, had just about had enough and sensed that an immediate change was in order.
Look at her today, basking in the glory of her element for such a time as now.
Look at her today, haven’t merely looked back since, all the while witnessing and savoring a significant increase in her faith in the process.
