MAKING HEADLINE NEWS WELCOMES BUSINESSWOMAN SHEQUAN HOKE
There’s no other way to put it.
Shaquan Hoke had her hands full, had entirely too much on her plate.
As if being enrolled as a full-time college student wasn’t enough, Hoke recalls like yesterday how she was faced with the brutally tough task of trying to juggle two jobs, all the while trying to keep food in the mouth of five children.
“Over 10 years ago, working two jobs was not enough,” Hoke, 42, told Making Headline News during a recent interview. “I struggled to make ends meet.”
For Hoke, things had become so turbulent that she and her children had wound up homeless — with nowhere to go but up.
That is when she reached out to God for an in-depth, intimate conversation which, much to her delight, proved to be her life’s defining moment.
“I made a promise to God that once I got on my feet, I would pay it forward by assisting the homeless and at-risk population to realize the skills they have and to monetize them to regain self-sufficiency,” Hoke explained.
To her credit, she not only held true to her personal pledge to God but, more than anything, she reaped the favorable results she so desperately sought.
A longtime New York City employment specialist, Hoke is the proud owner and chief executive officer of Beyond A J.O.B Inc., a credible consultant agency in employment and a business start-up that is centers mostly on personal development, particularly as it relates to helping job-seekers jumpstart and get a leg up on their professional journey.
A native of Brooklyn, New York, Hoke’s Beyond A J.O.B Inc. went into full operations some three years ago, but her experience as an employment specialist spans more than a decade.
Beyond A J.O.B Inc., in fact, is widely known for offering an array of strategic and effective services, most notably resume building, employment assistance, job planning, and customized clarity sessions.

The customized clarity is comprised of two 90-minute sessions, during which Hoke and her staff will give clarity on where job-seekers are now in their respective career and personal life, as well as to where they aspire to transition and how to get there.
In addition, Beyond A J.O.B Inc. offers group and private training for women, including women veterans, reintegrating into civilian culture.
Also, clients are afforded the golden opportunity to obtain hard and soft skills training, supportive services, financial literacy, employment services, and retention, according to a detailed description of Hoke’s venture at https://beyondajob.net.

Generally, these programs are designed to provide valuable professional development, including resume-building, interviewing skills, and workplace attire.
According to Hoke, who had become greatly inspired by her husband to “step into entrepreneurship,” her business typically caters individuals ranging in ages 30 to 50.
“Career changers often contact me through referrals or companies I’ve worked for (to seek) consultations and coaching,” Hoke said. “However, I have also coached ages 18 to 24 through employers.”

Since the inception of Beyond A J.O.B Inc., Hoke’s business has steadily acquired more of an international presence, she said, considering she has serviced clients as far as in Montreal, Quebec, a trend that simultaneously has attracted a presence through the mainstream media.
An accomplished author, Hoke holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Social Science from the College of New Rochelle.
“It is imperative for me to esteem and inspire others daily as I know how it feels to feel depressed, insecure, and defeated,” Hoke said. “Low self-esteem can be detrimental to a future. I believe that speaking life into a person will not only help them, but will create a momentum to elevate our community.”
Well said by a progressive, thriving businesswoman, who can greatly attest to what it’s like to defy arguably the greatest of odds.
