And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Thessalonians 5:23 KJV)
DALLAS — Gospel artists around the country will be afforded the golden opportunity to acquire the exposure they so desperately seek during the upcoming Texas Gospel Music Excellence Awards.
A three-day event that will take place February 14-17 at Houston’s Marriott Hotel Hobby Airport — located at 9100 Gulf Freeway — the TGMEA will is annual event that is centered largely on providing a platform for new gospel artists, most notably those who aspire to move up the ranks of the music industry, a spokesperson told Making Headline News this week.
IT’S ALL ABOUT KING JESUS
In addition to an event that has been in existence for a little more than two decades, artists and aspiring artists will have the chance to grasp a thorough overview of what TGMEA organizers have labeled the “vehicle of education and networking opportunities.”
“These efforts have assisted in the springboard of many of gospel artists in the past, providing a face-to-face experience with other artists, promoters, producers, and media (personalities),” said a spokesperson for the TGMEA.

Powered by the Excellence Awards nonprofit organization, the theme that organizers have adopted during the 2019 TGMEA is: Focusing On The Total Person: Mind, Body, And Soul,” a featured slogan that is accompanied by the familiar Biblical passage that is 1 Thessalonians 5:23.
As usual, the TGMEA is being organized by a host of individuals, most notably its Co-Founders, Pastor Larry Davies and his wife, First Lady Sharon Davies.
The TGMEA is available to gospel artists nationwide, event organizers emphasized.
“Attending this event will afford the new artists some exposure and knowledge of how the industry operates, what it takes to become successful, and to learn the language of the industry,” said a spokesperson for the TGMEA. “Due to the fact that in this new age of gospel music, the changes in the industry are ever so changing. But if any new artists are determined that this is the way they want to go, attending this event will be a help.
“Including awarding these artists for their creativity and hard work in gospel ministry as an independent artist, we have a chance to exhibit our appreciation via the gospel community.”
Interestingly, organizers said artists in attendance will have an opportunity to have their music projects serviced by what is known as its “servicing area,” during which they will pass their respective projects to various radio stations and media personnel on hand for the TGMEA.
“Of course, if the up-and-coming artists perform on any of the events scheduled during the event, (they will be afforded the opportunity) to be heard and identified amongst their constituents and other media affiliates,” said a spokesperson for the TGMEA.
And, just like in years’ past, the TGMEA will include its customary Morning Glory worship to commence each day of the three-day event, as well as a Gospel Music Industry Educational Workshop, Praise and Worship Workshop, Praise Dance Workshop, and a Women of Excellence Forum and Book Release (brunch tickets are $35.00).
GOD’S LEADING LADY
Also, there will be a Preachers and Ministers Forum, and Ambassadors Annual Meeting, a Valentine’s Day Late Night Soiree (which is $35.00 per couple), a Late Night New Artist Showcase, and the TGMEA finale that is known as CHOIRMANIA.
“We encourage everyone to come witness the various ministries and anointed talents of our delegates,” said a spokesperson for the TGMEA.
