Memphis entrepreneur Tiffany Roberts believed to be second black woman to own a security firm

Andre Johnson August 10, 2019

I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. (Philippians 4:13 KJV)

TEN-NES–SEE THE DREAM

HARVEST SEASON UNFOLDING — Surely, Memphian Tiffany Roberts, a single mother of four (Dyllon 15, Jayden 12, Ean 9 and Journi 19 months), won’t find herself stressing any longer, especially if her newly-erected Maximum Protection Agency LLC security company manages to become a fixture throughout the Mid-South and the Tri-State area.

Memphian Tiffany Roberts found herself on the right side of history on Friday.

Before her hundreds of social media followers, Roberts announced that she has delved off into the ever-so-competitive world of entrepreneurship.
“Well, it’s official. I own my own security company and the best is yet to come,” Roberts wrote in a Facebook post that subsequently generated nearly 500 likes and a slew of congratulatory comments. “No more stressing.”
Surely, Roberts, a single mother of four (Dyllon 15, Jayden 12, Ean 9 and Journi 19 months), won’t find herself stressing any longer, especially if her newly-erected Maximum Protection Agency LLC security company manages to become a fixture throughout the Mid-South and the Tri-State area.

“In my business, this is not law enforcement, but I look at it as a step closer,” Roberts, 35, told Making Headline News late Friday night. “I like the fact that I can help others gain the experience and knowledge about security and law enforcement. I believe that for some it, it is just the beginning if they would like to further their career.”

According to Roberts whom, in recent months, has done some extensive research on African-American women who own similar businesses, she said she is believed to be only the second U. S.-born woman to have become the owner and CEO of a security company.

According to a report at http://financialjuneteenth.com/n-one-security-first-ever-black-woman-owned-security-firm-offering-security-services/, Atlanta’s Mary Parker of All-N-One Security is the first ever black woman to own a security firm, a company that currently employs more than 200 hundred workers.

STARTED FROM THE BOTTOM — For Roberts, it seemed that law enforcement has always grasped her interest, something she said has proven beneficial to her starting a security firm. Prior to starting Maximum Protection Agency, Robert was a district manager for a local security company, during which she acquired an array of knowledge in her selected industry.

For Roberts, a Memphis Kirby High School graduate who holds an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Remington College, while she’s admittedly appreciative of the public’s reaction in the wake of her newly-established business, she’d be the first to admit to that she’s now has shifted her focus to something much bigger.

“I’m driven by change,” said Roberts, who’s approximately five months away from earning her undergraduate degree. “I have worked, quit a few jobs, and I did not like the operations. I always find things that could be better and always saw how I would implement things to make them better.”

Much to her delight and to her distinctly unique credit, she’s done just that, having put in the essential work, coupled with having met the necessary requirements, all of which have greatly enabled her to fulfill her long-awaited dream as an entrepreneur.

“Daily I would say to myself, ‘Be the change that you want to see,’” Roberts said. “I have always been a go-getter and just needed the extra push from people. Knowing what you want is just a thought until you’re really tired and something has to give. I always knew that I was a boss and I pushed myself until I believed it.”

A company that is headquartered in Memphis, Roberts is presently devising ways to set up branches in every U. S. state.

HISTORIC MILESTONE

According to Roberts whom, in recent months, has done some extensive research on African-American women who own similar businesses, she said she is believed to be only the second U. S.-born woman to have become the owner and CEO of a security company.

Interestingly, Roberts deemed it essential to issue a notable reminder to other single mothers, particularly those whom, like her, aspire to make their dreams a reality.

“My mission is to show single mothers and other minorities that we are more than just workers,” Roberts said. “If you have dreams, believe in yourself and help them come true.”

For Roberts, it seemed that law enforcement has always grasped her interest, something she said has proven beneficial to her starting a security firm.

Prior to starting Maximum Protection Agency, Robert was a district manager for a local security company, during which she acquired an array of knowledge in her selected industry.

It wasn’t much longer thereafter that she decided to “branch off and do my own thing,” she said.

“I believe that people should do what they love doing,” Roberts said. “My mission is to bring about a change in the community. Turning on the news and seeing crime (in the Mid-South) grow, I know that running from my city will not help change the situation. But I know that raising my children here, I have to change the things around them so that they can have hope.”

Aside from being an ambassador in her native establishment, more than anything, she’s destined to continue to set an example for her children, Roberts emphasized.

“I have to show my children that their mom went after her dreams and left a legacy for them,” said Robert, who also said that while expanding her company, a book is on the horizon. “So my mission is to be the best mom that I can be for them.”

Well said by this thriving, progressive single mother of four whom, to her credit, has found herself on the right side of history.
